Samu Tuomaala: Signs with Swedish club
Tuomaala agreed to terms on a two-year contract with Linkoping HC (SHL) on Thursday.
Tuomaala has spent the past three seasons playing in the AHL for Lehigh Valley and Texas, but he only played in 19 games last year. As a result, the 23-year-old winger was not given a qualifying offer by the Stars in June. If his two-year stint with Linkoping goes well, Tuomaala could still make his way back to the NHL, though he'll face a significant uphill battle.

Samu Tuomaala: Not extended qualifying offer
Tuomaala is slated to become an unrestricted free agent Wednesday after he didn't receive a qualifying offer from the Stars.
Tuomaala hasn't yet made his NHL debut, and he split time in the AHL between Lehigh Valley and Texas in 2025-26. Across 19 regular-season appearances between the two clubs, he recorded two goals, eight assists and six PIM.
