Report: Jaxson Dart 'Exceptionally Accurate' in Dolphins Joint Practice

Fantasy News

  • Alex Austin: Let go by Miami

The Dolphins waived Austin on Saturday, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports. Austin signed with the Dolphins in early March. The cornerback has played in 29 career games, totalling 31 tackles (25 solo), eight passes defensed and one interception. Austin is now subject to waivers and will remain available to be claimed through Sunday's cutdown day and into Monday. If the 25-year-old goes unclaimed, he will become a free agent able to sign with any franchise's 53-man roster or practice squad.

  • Dolphins' Alex Austin: Inks deal with Miami

Austin and the Dolphins agreed to terms on a one-year contract Wednesday, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports. Austin mostly served on special teams for the Patriots during the 2025 regular season, finishing with 13 tackles (10 solo) and one pass defense across 12 games. He'll likely reprise that role in Miami while also providing depth in the secondary.

  • Patriots' Alex Austin: Not tendered by New England

Austin was informed Wednesday by the Patriots that they will not tender him a contract as a restricted free agent, so he will become an unrestricted free agent when the new league year begins March 11, Mark Daniels of Masslive.com reports. Austin appeared in 12 regular-season games for the Patriots in 2025. The 2023 seventh-round draft pick of the Bills has registered 31 tackles (25 solo) and eight passes defensed in 29 NFL appearances split between Buffalo and New England. Austin is likely to land a depth cornerback role somewhere on the open market.

  • Patriots' Alex Austin: Activated off IR

The Patriots activated Austin (wrist) off injured reserve Saturday. Austin has been sidelined since the team's Week 12 win over the Bengals but will seemingly make his return during Sunday's divisional-round matchup versus the Texans. The 24-year-old should resume his role as a special teamer and depth defender against Houston.

  • Patriots' Alex Austin: Receives tender

The Patriots placed an exclusive rights tender on Austin on Wednesday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Austin missed eight games in 2024 due to an ankle injury. He returned to action Week 12, and over the final six games of the season, he accrued nine tackles (eight solo) and five pass breakups. Austin will likely sign the tender and return for the 2025 season, and he'll have a chance to vie for a starting job at cornerback opposite Christian Gonzalez (concussion).

  • Patriots' Alex Austin: Ruled out for Week 4

Austin (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the 49ers. Austin is dealing with an apparent ankle injury and will be forced to sit out Week 4 as a result. Marcellas Dial and Marco Wilson are two candidates to see an increase in workload at cornerback in Austin's absence versus San Francisco.

  • Patriots' Alex Austin: Staying in New England

The Patriots re-signed Austin on Thursday, Zack Cox of New England Sports Network reports. There's no specifics on the 22-year-old cornerback's deal just yet, but he's headed back to New England. The 2023 seventh-round pick spent time with the Bills, Texans and Patriots throughout his rookie year, appearing in seven games. In those outings, Austin tallied seven total tackles and two passes defended, including one interception. Expect the young corner to compete for a depth spot in the Patriots' secondary as the offseason progresses.
