  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Could miss a couple of weeks

An MRI revealed that Wilson suffered a hyper-extended knee Sunday, with the wideout reportedly expected to miss a couple of weeks, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. We'll await confirmation from the team, but at a minimum it looks like the Jets are in line to be without their top pass-catcher this weekend against the Panthers. If that's the case, Josh Reynolds, Arian Smith, Allen Lazard (personal) and Tyler Johnson would be candidates to see added WR reps in Wilson's absence.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Appears to avoid serious injury

Wilson (knee) underwent an MRI on Monday and appears to have avoided a serious injury, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. However, Wilson is potentially looking at some missed time, according to Cimini. The star wideout played through the injury during Sunday's 13-11 loss to the Broncos in London, but now that the adrenaline has worn off, Wilson could miss some game action. The Jets have two more games before their Week 9 bye. If Wilson were to miss Weeks 7 and 8 against the Panthers and Bengals, New York would be left with a hodgepodge crew of Josh Reynolds, Arian Smith, Allen Lazard (personal) and Tyler Johnson leading the wide receiver depth chart.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Injury update coming Wednesday

Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said Monday that Wilson (knee) is having his injury evaluated and that the team will provide an update on his health Wednesday. Wilson is slated to undergo an MRI after having sustained a knee injury during Sunday's 13-11 loss to the Broncos in London, in which he logged just three catches for 13 yards on eight targets. He received an X-ray after the contest, though it appears further evaluation will be necessary to fully diagnose the severity of his injury. With the No. 1 receiver's status potentially up in the air for Week 7 against the Panthers, Justin Fields and New York's struggling passing offense may have to lean on wideouts Josh Reynolds, Arian Smith and Allen Lazard (personal), in addition to rookie tight end Mason Taylor.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Injures knee Sunday

Wilson suffered a knee injury during Sunday's 13-11 loss to the Broncos, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Cimini notes that it was previously thought that Wilson was dealing with a hip issue, but the star pass catcher apparently sustained a knee injury Sunday, and is slated to undergo an MRI. Per Cimini, it doesn't appear to be an ACL injury for Wilson, but the wideout's status is nonetheless worth monitoring closely ahead of next weekend's game against the Panthers.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Stretches for late TD in loss

Wilson caught six of 10 targets for 71 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 37-22 loss to the Cowboys. Rookie tight end Mason Taylor actually led the Jets in targets with 12 and catches with nine, but Wilson once again paced the team in receiving yards and was on the other end of Justin Fields' second TD toss of the afternoon on New York's final possession. While he has yet to hit 100 yards in a game this season, Wilson will take an impressive 33-382-4 line on 48 targets into a Week 6 tilt with Patrick Surtain and the Broncos' stingy secondary.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Makes spectacular TD grab in loss

Wilson hauled in six of eight targets for 82 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 27-21 loss to Miami. Wilson welcomed back QB Justin Fields (concussion) with open arms after the duo connected in the end zone for the second time this season (third overall for Wilson). The star wideout scored in spectacular fashion when he caught a high-point pass through a defender's arm while barely dragging both of his feet in bounds. He did have a second potential score erased by an offensive pass interference penalty. Wilson is now up to 311 yards and three touchdowns through four starts as the Jets continue to force feed him the ball in failed comeback attempts. Fantasy managers should treat the Ohio State product as a WR1 in another soft matchup versus the Cowboys on Sunday.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Gets into end zone in Week 3

Wilson caught 10 of 13 targets for 84 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 29-27 loss to the Buccaneers. Despite having Tyrod Taylor under center instead of Justin Fields (concussion), Wilson was still the clear top downfield option for the Jets, as none of his teammates saw more than six targets or caught more than four passes, and his 11-yard TD catch from Taylor early in the fourth quarter kicked off an attempted comeback from a 23-6 deficit by New York. Wilson will take a 21-229-2 line on 30 targets into a Week 4 meeting with the Dolphins.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Four grabs as Fields gets concussed

Wilson caught four of eight targets for 50 yards in Sunday's 30-10 loss to the Bills. Wilson was the only player to exceed nine receiving yards for the Jets in the ugly Week 2 loss. He's the clear top target in a Jets passing attack that could be orchestrated by Tyrod Taylor in Week 3 against the Buccaneers after Justin Fields sustained a concussion in the fourth quarter of Sunday's defeat. Wilson had three catches for 33 yards in Taylor's two drives following Fields' injury.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Clear top receiver in Week 1 loss

Wilson caught seven of nine targets for 95 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-32 loss to the Steelers. Wilson put the Jets in front with a 33-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter, and he came two yards from the end zone again on a 21-yard catch in the third, leading to a Justin Fields rushing score on the next play. He was the clear top option in the passing game, as Breece Hall was a distant second in both targets (four) and receiving yards (38), but Wilson will regret his inability to hold onto the ball on the Jets' final offensive play, as Jalen Ramsey dislodged the ball from his hands on fourth down, preventing what would have been a game-extending catch. With Wilson showing strong chemistry with Fields, the talented wide receiver should remain a strong fantasy option against the Bills in Week 2.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: WRs to Sit

Wilson faced the Steelers in Week 7 last year, and he finished with five catches for 61 yards on nine targets. I could see a similar stat line for Wilson in Week 1, although it could be worse based on how Justin Fields looked in the preseason. I would only consider Wilson as a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in the majority of leagues, but hopefully Fields will give him enough targets that he can succeed despite the tough matchup. Give me the under on his 4.5 receptions for his prop on FanDuel.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Remains without catch in preseason

Wilson didn't gather in any of his three targets during Saturday's 31-12 preseason defeat to the Giants. Wilson has yet to record a catch on four passes from new QB Justin Fields through two exhibitions, but the former's standing as the unquestioned No. 1 option in the Jets' passing game isn't in question. Once Week 1 rolls around, Wilson should be good for the typical 9.2 targets per game that he's averaged through three pro campaigns, all of which have resulted in 1,000-yard seasons.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Brief cameo in preseason opener

Wilson didn't catch his only target in Saturday's 30-10 preseason win over the Packers. Wilson wasn't on the field for long, and while the only pass directed his way from quarterback Justin Fields fell incomplete, the starting offense still managed to produce a touchdown on Fields' and Wilson's only drive of the game. After signing a four-year, $130 million extension in July, Wilson's locked in atop the Jets' wide receiver depth chart.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Fifth-year option made official

The Jets exercised the fifth-year option on Wilson's rookie contract Wednesday. General manager Darren Mougey said prior to the 2025 NFL Draft that New York would pick up the fifth-year options of London, Sauce Gardner and Jermaine Johnson (Achilles), and the team has now made each of those transactions official. Wilson is coming off three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons and remains the clear top receiving option on the Jets' depth chart, with Allen Lazard, Josh Reynolds and Tyler Johnson behind him in the wide receiver room, and with rookie second-round pick Mason Taylor a new addition to the tight end corps. Even if Justin Fields' dual-threat capabilities result in an overall decline in passing for the Jets' offense, Wilson figures to retain a tremendous target share following the offseason departures of WR Davante Adams and TE Tyler Conklin, and considering his current lack of competition for volume. Picking up the No. 1 wideout's fifth-year option shouldn't make the Jets any less motivated to negotiate a long-term extension with Wilson, who will turn 25 in July.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: To get fifth-year option

Jets GM Darren Mougey said Monday that he plans to exercise the fifth-year option on Wilson's rookie contract, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Wilson's rookie contract will now run through 2026, with a fifth-year option for the final season projected at $16.8 million. He's likely still hoping for an extension this offseason after starting his career with three straight 1,000-yard campaigns as a high-volume target in bad offenses. The Jets figure to run the ball more now that they have dual-threat Justin Fields at quarterback, but Wilson should see a lot of targets anyway, as there isn't much competition for Fields' attention after the offense lost WR Davante Adams and TE Tyler Conklin this offseason.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Quietly posts career year

Wilson caught four of five targets for 51 yards and rushed once for no gain in Sunday's 32-20 win over the Dolphins. He finishes the 2024 season with 101 catches for 1,104 receiving yards and seven touchdowns on 154 targets. Wilson didn't account for any of Aaron Rodgers' four touchdown passes, but the third of their four connections accounted for Wilson's 100th catch of the season. In addition to setting a new career high in receptions, Wilson exceeded his previous career high by one receiving yard. Wilson's seven receiving scores matched his combined total from 2022 and 2023, so Wilson made incremental improvements despite the Jets' inconsistency on offense. The 2022 first-round draft pick remains under contract with the Jets for 2025.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Season-low 18 yards in loss

Wilson caught four of eight targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 28-27 loss to the Colts. Wilson posted his lowest receiving yardage total of the season and has just 59 yards over his last two games combined after averaging 94.4 over the previous five games. Aaron Rodgers hasn't been nearly as much of an upgrade under center as the Jets anticipated, but Wilson has still benefited from the change. Heading into the Jets' Week 12 bye, Wilson has already set a career high with five receiving touchdowns, and he's on pace for 1,116 receiving yards this season, which would narrowly set a new personal best for the third-year wideout.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Leading receiver in Week 8 loss

Wilson caught five of eight targets for 113 yards in Sunday's 25-22 loss to the Patriots. Wilson's 27-yard catch down to the one-yard line in the second quarter set up Xavier Gipson's go-ahead touchdown catch on the next play. Wilson added a 26-yard catch later in the second quarter and a 35-yard grab in the third quarter to easily lead the Jets in receiving yards. Davante Adams was a distant second with 54 receiving yards. Wilson has caught 10 of 17 targets for 174 yards in two games since Adams' arrival, so Wilson maintains a prominent role heading into Thursday's home game against a Texans secondary that's been susceptible to big plays.
... See More ... See Less
  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Faces new competition for targets

Wilson could see his target share take a hit after the Jets acquired Davante Adams (hamstring) from Las Vegas on Tuesday, Lucas Hutcherson of SNY.tv reports. Wilson has been the clear top wideout through his first two-plus seasons in New York, and he turned in 1,000-yard receiving campaigns in 2022 and 2023 despite substandard quarterback play. After a slow first four games of the 2024 season with four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers under center, Wilson has gotten in sync with the veteran signal-caller and has hauled in 21 of 33 targets for 208 yards and two touchdowns over the last two contests. Though he should continue to see a substantial role, the arrival of Adams -- a six-time Pro Bowler who previously spent eight seasons in Green Bay with Rodgers -- likely means that Wilson will have to settle for being Option 1B in the passing game. On the other hand, the addition of Adams should help divert some attention from Wilson, and perhaps lead to higher-quality looks that uplift the Jets offense as a whole. Wilson still profiles as a must-start fantasy option in nearly every format, even if his weekly production becomes more volatile.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Back-to-back games over 100 yards

Wilson caught eight of 10 targets for 107 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 23-20 loss to the Bills. Wilson put the Jets up 10-7 with a five-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter, but that turned out to be New York's last lead of the game. He has exceeded 100 receiving yards in consecutive games after averaging 47.8 receiving yards in Weeks 1-4, so Wilson's trending up ahead of a Week 7 trip to Pittsburgh for Sunday Night Football. Wilson also has scored a touchdown in three of the last four games as he continues to improve his chemistry with Aaron Rodgers.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Racks up 13 catches in loss

Wilson recorded 13 receptions on 22 targets for 101 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Vikings. Wilson benefitted from the Jets falling behind 17-0 before halftime and impressively drew 22 of the team's 51 targets. That was the primary reason for optimism in the performance, as he still struggled to pair up efficiently with Aaron Rodgers by averaging only 4.6 yards per target. Despite that concerning sign, Wilson's productivity in this game was positive, headlined by his second touchdown and first 100-yard effort of the campaign.
