C.J. Hanson: Cut loose with injury settlement

The Chiefs waived Hanson (undisclosed) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Friday, Charles Goldman of AtoZSports.com reports. Hanson moved to the Chiefs' IR on Monday after being waived/injured one day earlier and clearing waivers. The settlement allows the 2024 seventh-rounder to sign with a team once fully healthy, and he could remain in Kansas City as a member of the team's practice squad.

Hanson (undisclosed) reverted to Kansas City's injured reserve Monday, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports. Hanson was waived/injured Sunday and subsequently went unclaimed on waivers. Since he consequently reverted to IR, he'll need to sit out the entire 2026 season unless he works out an injury settlement with the Chiefs.
