Haynesworth suffered a sprained MCL in a preseason game while with the Saints and was ultimately waived with an injury settlement in August. Now healthy, the Tulane product will get another chance to work his way to a 53-man roster spot.

    Haynesworth (knee) was waived from the Saints' reserve/injured list Wednesday after reaching an injury settlement, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Haynesworth sprained his MCL during the Saints' second preseason game against the 49ers. He reverted to IR after being waived with an injury designation, but the injury settlement means he won't be forced to sit out for the entire 2024 season. Once healthy, Haynesworth is free to sign with another team in need of depth at center.
