  • Packers' Trey Dean: Reverts to IR for Green Bay

Dean (undisclosed) reverted to the Packers' injured-reserve list Monday, per the NFL's transaction log. The Packers waived Dean on Sunday with an injury designation. The safety went unclaimed and will now spend the entirety of the 2026 regular season on IR unless he is waived with an injury settlement.

  • Trey Dean: Waived with injury designation

Dean (undisclosed) was waived/injured by the Packers on Sunday, Wes Hodkiewicz of the team's official website reports. Dean compiled six total tackles (four solo) during the preseason with Green Bay, but he may have suffered an injury at some point along the way. The safety will now be placed on waivers, and if he goes unclaimed, he'll revert to season-ending injured reserve with the Packers. At that point, he'd need to reach an injury settlement with the team in order to have a chance to play in 2026.

The Packers signed Dean to a contract Monday, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports. Dean was a member of the Chiefs' practice squad during their 2023 Super Bowl winning campaign, but the safety has yet to play in an NFL game. The 26-year-old spent the 2026 UFL campaign with the Louisville Kings and St. Louis Battlehawks, recording 20 tackles (16 solo), including 1.0 sacks, across six regular-season games.
