  • Messiah Swinson: Cut by Arizona

The Cardinals cut Swinson from the practice squad Tuesday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports. Swinson joined the Cardinals' practice squad Oct. 30 and was not elevated for any games throughout his tenure. The tight end was likely let loose because the team was able to poach Rivaldo Fairweather from the Cowboys' practice squad. If Swinson clears waivers, he will become a free agent able to sign with any team.

Swinson was signed to the 49ers' practice squad Wednesday. Swinson was let go by the Packers in late August after reeling in one pass for four yards while appearing in one preseason game with the team. The 25-year-old will provide San Francisco with another option at tight end while George Kittle (hamstring) is on injured reserve.

  • Packers' Messiah Swinson: Remaining in Green Bay

Swinson signed a reserve/future contract with the Packers on Monday. Swinson spent most of September on the Panthers' active roster after being signed off the Packers' practice squad Sept. 3. He was a healthy scratch for Carolina's first two regular-season games before being waived Sept. 24, and after clearing waivers, he opted to rejoin Green Bay on the practice squad two days later. Swinson will stay with the Packers during the offseason, where he will have the opportunity to participate in OTAs and minicamp ahead of training camp in July.

Swinson was waived by the Panthers on Tuesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports. • Panthers' Messiah Swinson: Picked up by Carolina

The Panthers signed Swinson off Green Bay's practice squad Tuesday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports. The 24-year-old tight end joined the Packers' practice squad after failing to make the team's initial 53-man roster, but he's now found a new home in Carolina. Swinson adds depth to a Carolina tight end room that's banged up heading into the Panthers' Week 1 contest against the Saints, as both Ian Thomas (calf) and Tommy Tremble (hamstring) are dealing with injuries.
