  Rotowire Oct 19, 2026

Overshown (hamstring) is on track to play in Week 7 against the Eagles, Joe Hoyt of The Dallas Morning News reports. Overshown compiled 28 total tackles (15 solo) over six regular-season games in 2025, and he'll have a chance to provide a big boost to a struggling Dallas defense.

• Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Long shot for Week 6

  Rotowire Oct 16, 2026

Overshown (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Packers, Patrik Walker of the Cowboys' official site reports. Overwshown ended Week 6 prep with back-to-back limited practices, which was enough for him to draw the questionable tag for Sunday night's game, though head coach Brian Schottenheimer said Friday that Overshown is a "long shot" to play. If Overshown is indeed ruled out for a second consecutive game, then rookie third-rounder Jaishawn Barham would be in line to once again start alongside Dee Winters at linebacker.

  Rotowire Sep 23, 2026

Overshown (hamstring) did not participate at practice Wednesday, Tommy Yarrish of the Cowboys' official site reports. • Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Won't play Sunday

  Rotowire Sep 18, 2026

Overshown (hamstring) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Commanders, Tommy Yarrish of the Cowboys' official site reports. Coach Brian Schottenheimer had already announced that the starting inside linebacker was set to miss 1-to-2 weeks due to the hamstring issue he suffered in last Sunday's loss to the Giants. Overshown's status for Week 2 is not surprising, and the 26-year-old could end up missing the team's Week 3 game against the Ravens if he continues to miss practice due to injury.

• Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Misses practice Wednesday

  Rotowire Sep 16, 2026

Overshown (hamstring) did not participate at practice Wednesday, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Overshown is expected to miss one to two weeks with the hamstring injury he suffered during Sunday's loss against the Giants, so his absence from practice Wednesday makes sense. He'd probably need to return to practice Thursday or Friday to give himself a chance to suit up in Week 2.

• Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Limited in Tuesday's practice

  Rotowire Aug 4, 2026

Overshown was a limited participant in Tuesday's training camp practice due to soreness in his legs and lower body, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. The limitations on Overshown's practice reps was a cautionary move by the Cowboys, and the 2023 third-rounder's injuries aren't a long-term concern. Overshown missed the first nine games of the 2025 regular season while recovering from a torn ACL, MCL and PCL that he sustained in December of 2024 and then missed the final two contests while in the league's concussion protocol.

  Rotowire Jun 11, 2026

Overshown has been practicing at middle and weakside linebacker during minicamp, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. The linebacker is also healthy and wearing no knee brace, per Machota. That's significant, seeing as he missed 12 games with a knee injury in 2025. Overshown made an impact in 2024, with 90 tackles (56 solo), including 5.0 sacks, four pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery across 13 regular-season games.

• Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Out for Thursday

  Rotowire Dec 24, 2025

Overshown (concussion) has been ruled out ahead of Thursday's matchup against the Commanders, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. The third-year pro from Texas sustained a concussion in the Week 16 loss to the Chargers, so it's no surprise that he'll be sidelined Thursday. Overshown has appeared in six contests since returning from a knee injury in the Week 11 matchup against the Raiders, recording 28 total tackles. While he's out in Week 17, expect Marist Liufau to operate as Dallas' top weakside linebacker.

• Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Records six tackles Thursday

  Rotowire Nov 30, 2025

Overshown finished with six tackles (two solo) in Thursday's 31-28 win over the Chiefs. • Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Trending toward Week 11 return

  Rotowire Nov 4, 2025

Head coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday that Overshown (knee) is "trending" toward being activated from injured reserve ahead of the Cowboys' Week 11 clash against the Raiders on Monday, Nov. 17, Joe Hoyt of The Dallas Morning News reports. Overshown is in the final stages of his rehab from a torn ACL, MCL and PCL that he suffered in December. His 21-day practice window opened Oct. 22, and while he wasn't ready to return for Weeks 8 and 9, the expectation is that he'll be available to make his 2025 debut in Week 11. Overshown's return would bolster a Cowboys linebacker corps that will be without Jack Sanborn (groin) for at least four games after the latter was placed on injured reserve Monday.

  Rotowire Oct 24, 2025

Overshown (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against Denver, Patrik Walker of the Cowboys' official site reports. Overshown was designated to return from the reserve/PUP list Wednesday and logged a trio of limited practices this week. However, he's not ready to make his season debut and may not do so until utilizing his entire 21-day practice window. That would put the target date for his season debut Monday, Nov. 17 in Week 11 against Las Vegas, following Dallas' Week 10 bye.

• Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Return in play after bye

  Rotowire Oct 15, 2025

Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said Wednesday that Overshown (knee) could return Week 11 versus the Raiders, after Dallas' bye, Todd Archer of ESPN reports. Overshown remains on the reserve/PUP list while working his way back from a torn ACL, MCL and PCL in his right knee suffered last December. Early in the regular season, Overshown said that he anticipated returning to action before Thanksgiving, a timetable that seems to still be realistic. Once cleared to retake the field, Overshown's presence will provide a notable boost for the Cowboys' defense, which has struggled significantly to open the 2025 campaign.
