Fantasy News

  • Saints' Beanie Bishop: Suspended three games

The NFL has suspended Bishop for the first three games of the 2026 regular season, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports. The league didn't mention the reason for the suspension in its announcement, but Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that it was for a violation of the NFL's substances of abuse policy. Bishop will still be able to participate in offseason activities and preseason contests. He had a significant role for the Steelers as a rookie in 2024 but didn't see any NFL action last year, splitting the campaign between the Steelers' and Saints' practice squads.

  • Steelers' Beanie Bishop: Makes big impact as rookie

Bishop tallied 45 tackles, including 0.5 sacks, along with seven pass defenses (four of which were interceptions) and one fumble recovery over 17 regular-season games in 2024. Though Bishop had his share of struggles, it was impressive that he played in all 17 regular-season games given that he wasn't selected in April's NFL Draft. The West Virginia product notched three pickoffs during a two-week span in late October, and his four total INTs tied for second on the team. Bishop did see his playing time wane at the end of the campaign and into the playoffs, but he likely showed enough as a rookie to be given a chance to grow in Year 2.

  • Steelers' Beanie Bishop: Picks off two passes

Bishop recorded six tackles (five solo), including a tackle for a loss, and intercepted two passes in Sunday's 37-15 win over the Jets. The rookie signed as an undrafted free agent with the Steelers in April, made the 53-man roster and earned the starting slot cornerback role. Now, he's recorded his first two career interceptions against four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers. Bishop has 20 tackles (17 solo), including 0.5 sacks, and four total pass breakups on the year.

  • Steelers' Beanie Bishop: Works with first team

Bishop saw most of the reps at nickel with the Steelers' first-team defense Thursday, Mike DeFabo of The Athletic reports. Josiah Scott seemed to be the Steelers' top nickel during OTAs, but it now appears that Bishop has passed Scott on the team's depth chart. Bishop, an undrafted rookie cornerback out of West Virginia, could have the opportunity to make an immediate impact for a Pittsburgh secondary that was middle-of-the-pack in 2023 (16th in passing yards allowed per game).
