    Ossai (undisclosed) is not participating in Sunday's practice, Jay Morrison of SI.com reports. Ossai appears to be dealing with an undisclosed injury. He tallied one assisted tackle during Thursday's 34-27 preseason loss to the Eagles. His next chance to suit up for preseason action will come Monday, Aug. 18 against the Commanders.

  • Bengals' Joseph Ossai: Re-signing with Cincinnati

    Ossai and the Bengals have agreed to a one-year, $7-million deal, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. The move comes after the defensive end recorded career highs in defensive snaps (543), tackles (46), sacks (5.0) and forced fumbles (two). It also comes with fellow defensive end Trey Hendrickson on the trade block. Ossai, who missed his rookie season with a meniscus injury, has started just three of the 47 regular-season games he's appeared in over the last three campaigns, but he might have a chance to start in 2025.

He has enjoyed a healthy training camp after missing most of the team's offseason program recovering from a procedure to repair a torn labrum suffered during the 2022 season.     Ossai (shoulder) is expected to miss the Bengals' offseason program, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Ossai underwent surgery in February to address the torn labrum he sustained late in the 2022 regular season, and his rehab will keep him away from the field for Cincinnati's offseason activities this spring. The 23-year-old played in 16 games in 2022, recording 17 tackles, including 3.5 sacks, while deflecting a pass and recovering two fumbles.

  • Bengals' Joseph Ossai: Getting MRI on knee

    Ossai is scheduled to get an MRI after his knee buckled late in Sunday's 23-20 AFC Championship Game loss to the Chiefs, Andrew Gillis of Cleveland.com reports. To add insult to injury, Ossai also was called for a crucial penalty on the play, as his injury occurred while the defensive end was delivering a late hit out of bounds on scrambling quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The 15-yard penalty on Ossai got Kansas City within range for a game-winning 45-yard field goal on the following play. With Cincinnati's season over, Ossai will have plenty of rehab time if the MRI discovers any damage to the knee.
