  • Craig James: Reaches injury settlement

The Lions released James (undisclosed) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. James was placed on IR on Tuesday after sustaining some sort of injury during minicamp, and the 28-year-old cornerback and the Lions have now agreed to part ways. James will be free to sign elsewhere once he returns to full health.

  • Lions' Craig James: Hits injured reserve

The Lions placed James (undisclosed) on injured reserve Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. James suited up for two games with the Jets last season, playing 58 percent of defensive snaps versus the Eagles in Week 6 as a result of short-term injuries to both Sauce Gardner and D.J. Reed.

  • Eagles' Craig James: Will miss second consecutive game

James (shoulder) has been ruled out of Sunday's game versus the Giants. James missed the Eagles' last game due to a hamstring injury, and while he shook off that issue, the 24-year-old cornerback picked up a shoulder injury and missed practice Thursday and Friday. His absence will mainly affect the team's secondary depth, and he'll look to heal up for next week's clash against Cleveland.

  • Eagles' Craig James: Set to miss Week 8

James (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game versus the Giants. The Eagles will likely bring up a cornerback from the practice squad because Cre'von LeBlanc (quadriceps) has also been ruled out, leaving just Darius Slay, Avonte Maddox and Nickell Robey-Coleman as the healthy cornerbacks. James will look to return in a game against the Giants following the team's Week 9 bye.

  • Eagles' Craig James: Injures hamstring Thursday

James is questionable to return to Thursday's game against the Giants due to a hamstring injury, Daniel Gallen of The Harrisburg Patriot-News reports. James was forced off the field midway through the fourth quarter, so the depth cornerback may be facing long odds to return to action Thursday. His contributions are usually relegated to special teams.

  • Eagles' Craig James: Practice window activated

Philadelphia activated a 21-day practice window for James (thigh) on Wednesday. This move means the team will have 21 days to decide whether to remove James from IR or transfer him to IR for the remainder of the season, and that James is able to resume practicing in the meantime. If the team opts to activate him, such a move could happen as soon as before Sunday's game in Pittsburgh.

  • Eagles' Craig James: Signed to active roster

James was signed to the Eagles' active roster Tuesday. James, who previously resided on Philadelphia's practice squad, logged 11 special-teams snaps compared to one defensive snap for the Eagles in Week 2 against Atlanta. He figures to again serve as depth/special-teams player during Thursday's game against the Packers, but that could change quickly if an injury forces another cornerback to join starter Ronald Darby (hamstring) on the sidelines. Wide receiver Greg Ward was waived in a corresponding transaction.
