  • Jets' Mason Taylor: Starting Tight Ends

I'm hopeful that Taylor will stay hot in Week 6 against the Broncos in London after he has scored at least 11.5 PPR points in each of his past two outings against Miami and Dallas. Taylor actually has 25 targets in his past three games, so the Jets are trying to get him the ball, and he should be a primary threat against the Broncos. Three tight ends against Denver have had at least seven targets in a game, and all three scored at least 9.6 PPR points. I like Taylor as a low-end starter in all leagues.

  • Jets' Mason Taylor: Week 6 Streamers (TE Preview)

With Pat Surtain on Garrett Wilson, the Jets will have to lean on their secondary option in the passing game, and Taylor has clearly been that the last two weeks. He is the kind of guy who could end your streaming days and become a weekly starter if his involvement in the passing game stays as high as it has been.

  • Jets' Mason Taylor: Week 6 Waiver Priority List

Taylor is on fire heading into Week 6 against Denver, and he's worth adding in all leagues for at least 10 percent of your remaining FAB. He has 25 targets in his past three games, and he scored at least 11.5 PPR points in each of his past two outings against Miami and Dallas. Against the Cowboys, Taylor had nine catches for 67 yards on 12 targets, and he's become a go-to option for Justin Fields. The Broncos matchup won't be easy, but Taylor faces the Panthers and Bengals after that. He's worth adding in all leagues for at least 10 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Jets' Mason Taylor: Role continues to grow

Taylor caught nine of 12 targets for 67 yards in Sunday's 37-22 loss to the Cowboys. He also caught a two-point conversion. The rookie tight end led the Jets in catches and targets and was only four yards back of Garrett Wilson for the team lead in that category as well. Taylor is blossoming now that he's put an early-season ankle issue behind him, and over the last three games he's delivered an 18-150-0 line on 25 targets as he begins to establish himself as the team's No. 2 pass-catching option behind Wilson. Taylor will look for his first career touchdown in Week 6 against the Broncos.

  • Jets' Mason Taylor: Ready to play Sunday

Taylor (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Taylor's availability heading into Week 5 had been a bit of a question mark after he was a limited participant in practices Wednesday and Thursday, but he took every rep at Friday's session to erase any doubt about his ability to play through the ankle issue. The rookie second-round pick drew just three looks in the passing game through the first two weeks of the season, but he's seen his role increase over the past two contests, putting together a 9-83-0 receiving line on 13 targets in that span.

  • Jets' Mason Taylor: Another limited listing

Taylor (ankle) was a limited participant at practice Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Taylor was also listed as limited on Wednesday's practice estimate, so the tight end will likely need to practice fully Friday in order to avoid an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Cowboys. Following a slow start to his rookie season, Taylor has combined to catch nine of his 13 targets (for 83 yards) over the Jets' last two contests.

  • Jets' Mason Taylor: Limited at practice Wednesday

Taylor (ankle) was listed as limited on Wednesday's practice estimate, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Taylor now has two more chances to practice fully ahead of Sunday's game against the Cowboys. The 2025 second-rounder is coming off his best game of the season, a 5/65/0 effort on seven targets (while logging an 81 percent snap share) in the Jets' Week 4 loss to the Dolphins.

  • Jets' Mason Taylor: Week 5 Waiver Priority List

Taylor had the best game of his rookie season in Week 4 at Miami with five catches for 65 yards on seven targets, and hopefully it's a sign of things to come. He now has nine catches and 13 targets in his past two games, and he should be able to establish himself as the No. 2 option in the passing game for the Jets behind Garrett Wilson. Keep in mind that this will remain a low-volume passing attack with Justin Fields under center. But Taylor could be a low-end starter in deeper leagues, especially heading into a positive matchup with the Cowboys in Week 5. He's worth adding for 1 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Jets' Mason Taylor: On track to play Sunday

Taylor (ankle) remains listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bills but is expected to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. After opening Week 2 prep as a non-participant Wednesday, Taylor practiced in a limited fashion Thursday and then took every rep at Friday's session, clearing up most of the lingering concern about his health heading into the weekend. Assuming the rookie tight end is formally cleared ahead of Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff, he should continue to play heavy snaps Week 2. Despite garnering an 88 percent snap share in the Jets' 34-32 loss to the Steelers in the season opener, Taylor didn't make much of an imprint in the box score, finishing with one catch for 20 yards on one target.

  • Jets' Mason Taylor: Limited in practice Thursday

Taylor (ankle) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Taylor sprained his ankle in training camp and is dealing with an injury to the same ankle in the aftermath of a loss to the Steelers in his regular-season NFL debut. The rookie second-round pick was unable to practice Wednesday, so Thursday's limited showing is a step in the right direction. If Taylor sees a reduced workload after playing on 87 percent of offensive snaps Week 1, or sits out entirely, Sunday against the Bills, more opportunities could be available for Jeremy Ruckert, Stone Smartt or Jelani Woods.

  • Jets' Mason Taylor: Sits out practice Wednesday

Taylor (ankle) did not practice Wednesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Taylor secured his only pass for 20 yards during the Jets' 34-32 loss to the Steelers in Week 1, but he sustained an ankle injury during the contest. While Cimini reports that Taylor moved well while working in the rehab area Wednesday, the rookie second-round pick will almost certainly need to return to practice as at least a limited participant Thursday and/or Friday in order to have a shot at suiting up for Sunday's game against the Bills.

  • Jets' Mason Taylor: One catch in debut

Taylor caught his only target for 20 yards in Sunday's 34-32 loss to the Steelers. Taylor wasn't significantly involved as a pass catcher in his NFL debut, as Garrett Wilson was the only player to exceed 38 receiving yards for the Jets. Among the team's tight ends, Jeremy Ruckert had two catches for 16 yards. Taylor has substantial long-term upside, but the rookie second-round pick could face a learning curve out of the gate.

  • Jets' Mason Taylor: Sidelined by ankle injury Monday

Taylor (ankle) didn't practice Monday, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports. Head coach Aaron Glenn will likely provide an update on Taylor's injury when Glenn speaks to reporters after Tuesday's practice if Taylor hasn't returned by then. Taylor has looked like the Jets' best tight end in training camp and is listed as the backup to Jeremy Ruckert on the unofficial depth chart the team released Sunday, though that may just be a matter of making the rookie second-round pick earn his starting spot in the preseason, which begins for the Jets with a road game in Green Bay on Saturday.

  • Jets' Mason Taylor: Likely to start immediately

Taylor looks ready to start out of the gate and has been operating ahead of Jeremy Ruckert and Stone Smartt in training camp, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports. Taylor has demonstrated good chemistry with quarterback Justin Fields and drawn praise from wide receiver Garrett Wilson for his playmaking ability. The rookie second-round pick's main competitors for snaps at tight end, Ruckert and Smartt, have combined for only one touchdown catch in 79 regular-season NFL games.

  • Jets' Mason Taylor: Lands with Jets

The Jets selected Taylor in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 42nd overall. Tight end was a glaring need for the Jets in this draft, and they managed to wait until the second round and still get one of the best prospects at the position. The son of NFL Hall of Famer Jason Taylor, Mason starred at LSU as a three-year starter. He had at least 35 receptions in each of his three years at LSU and had an expanded role in 2024 with 55 grabs for 546 yards and two touchdowns. Taylor did not test at the NFL Scouting Combine but ran a 4.68 40-yard dash at the LSU Pro Day at 6-foot-5 and 246 pounds. He has a fantasy-relevant skill set, and the landing spot couldn't be better for the prospects of early-career production.
