  • Dae'Quan Wright: Waived, could return to college

Wright was waived by the Browns on Sunday, and the Ole Miss product could return to college if he clears waivers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Wright is one of several rookies who are exploring returning to college after being deemed eligible to return for a fifth year. He has an agreement in place to play at LSU in 2026, but that will only happen if does not get claimed off waivers by another NFL team. Wright could be the first of many players to rejoin the college ranks after catching on with an NFL team during the offseason.

  • Browns' Dae'Quan Wright: Claimed off waivers by Cleveland

The Browns claimed Wright off waivers from the Eagles on Tuesday. Wright is on the Browns' 90-man roster one day after being waived by the Eagles. The Ole Miss product is a long shot to make Cleveland's 53-man roster for the upcoming season, but a strong audition in training camp and preseason games could be enough for him to stick around on the practice squad.

  • Dae'Quan Wright: Let go by Philadelphia

The Eagles waived Wright on Monday. The undrafted free agent out of Ole Miss signed with the Eagles after the 2026 NFL Draft. Wright was always facing long odds to stick on the 53-man roster, considering Dallas Goedert, rookie Eli Stowers, Johnny Mundt and Grant Calcaterra were all ahead of him on the positional depth chart. If Wright clears waivers, he'll be able to sign with any franchise.

  • Dae'Quan Wright: Signing with Philly

Wright is slated to sign with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Wright logged 1,029 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns over two seasons with Ole Miss, claiming the No. 2 spot in program history for career tight end yardage. The 22-year-old was a consistent producer of splash plays, with 12 catches of 20-plus yards in 2025. He has exceptional contact balance as well as an expansive catch radius beyond what his frame would typically allow. Wright's toughness also isn't in question after the tight end played through the entire 2025 season with an injured right shoulder that he suffered in the season opener. His greatest weaknesses are a lackluster frame for blocking and inconsistent playing weight. The tape Wright has displayed portrays him as a strong tight end prospect that can take advantage of mismatches, something the Eagles could utilize in a depth role behind Dallas Goedert. Wright's camp production will likely be heavily weighed against Grant Calcaterra's and Eli Stowers' to determine if Wright is at the NFL level.
