  • Bears' Tony Fields: Moved to IR

The Bears placed Fields (undisclosed) on injured reserve Sunday with a designation to return. Fields is set to be the primary backup edge rusher for the Bears in 2026. The linebacker signed with the Bears in June after being out of the league in 2025. As a result of Sunday's transaction, Fields will now need to wait at least another four regular-season games to see any game action.

  • Tony Fields: Works out with Ravens

Baltimore hosted Fields (ankle) for a workout Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Fields landed on Cleveland's injured reserve Sept. 11 due to an ankle injury. He was cut from the Browns' IR on Tuesday, but it appears he's healed enough to get a look from Baltimore. The 2021 fifth-round pick played in all 17 regular-season games for the Browns in 2023, during which he logged 34 tackles (16 solo) and returned a fumble for a touchdown while splitting snaps between defense and special teams.

  • Tony Fields: Cut from IR

The Browns cut Fields (ankle) from injured reserve Tuesday. Fields suited up Week 1 and played a depth role for Cleveland before sustaining an ankle injury, then subsequently being placed on IR. The fourth-year pro will be allowed to sign with another team when healthy, as a result of Tuesday's move.

  • Browns' Tony Fields: Will miss at least four weeks

Fields (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday. Fields suffered the injury in Week 1's loss to the Cowboys and was initially considered week-to-week for a return to action. However, the West Virginia product will now head to IR, guaranteeing an absence of at least four games. Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com notes that, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski, Fields should return before the end of the season.

  • Browns' Tony Fields: Could miss Week 2

Fields is week-to-week after suffering an ankle injury in Sunday's 33-17 loss to the Cowboys, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Fields dealt with an ankle injury during training camp; however, it's not clear if the two are related. His week-to-week timeline might have him leaning closer to doubtful for Week 2 against the Jaguars, but more clarity regarding his potential to play should come as this week progresses.

  • Browns' Tony Fields: Working on the side

Fields was seen wearing a walking boot Thursday due to an apparent foot injury, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports. It's not clear when or how the West Virginia product suffered the injury, or how long he'll be limited by it. Fields has played a depth role while contributing on special teams for Cleveland in each of the last three seasons.

  • Browns' Tony Fields: Sets new career high

Fields recorded six tackles (four solo) during Saturday's 13-3 win over the Ravens. Fields continued operating in his usual rotational linebacker role this past weekend versus Baltimore, except he logged a career-high six stops in the contest. The 23-year-old will now hope to replicate a similar performance when Cleveland hosts the Saints in Week 16.

  • Browns' Tony Fields: Placed on reserve/COVID-19 list

Fields was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday. Fields tested positive for the virus Friday, which would have made it impossible for him to play Saturday against the Raiders. Now with the game moving to Monday, Fields could return in time to play if he is fully vaccinated and can return two negative tests 24 hours apart.

  • Browns' Tony Fields: Off injury report

Fields (shoulder) isn't listed on the Browns' injury report Wednesday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. Fields missed the Browns' Week 5 loss to the Chargers due to a shoulder injury that appears to have cleared up. The linebacker should be available for Cleveland's game against Arizona on Sunday after he recorded a full practice Wednesday.

  • Browns' Tony Fields: Questionable for Week 5

Fields (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's contest against the Chargers. Fields has been a limited participant in practice all week, so his status for Sunday is really up in the air. The linebacker has missed only one game this season, and that was due to an illness. Expect Sione Takitaki to see an even larger role Sunday if Fields is unable to play.

  • Browns' Tony Fields: Sitting out Week 1

Fields (illness) won't play in Sunday's season opener against the Chiefs, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Fields hasn't been placed in COVID-19 protocols, so it can be assumed that his illness isn't COVID-related. He has nonetheless been ruled out of Cleveland's season opener and will set his sights on returning in Week 2 against Houston.
