Who is the No. 1 QB to Target in Fantasy?

Player Outlook
A fourth-round pick out of Connecticut, Bell should compete for a decent role with the Bills this preseason, making him an interesting late-round flier in the deepest of redraft leagues (16-plus rounds). In rookie-only drafts, he'll probably get swiped with a top-20 choice. Just under 6-foot at 192 pounds, Bell is a twitchy, fearless receiver with well-trained feet and a stout body. Despite 10-inch hands, he's battled body catches and drops in college, and he needs refinement in his route running. If Bills coaches can improve him in those areas, then he'll probably be a solid contributor for the rest of Josh Allen's career.

Fantasy News

  • Bills' Skyler Bell: Strong pro debut

Bell caught seven passes for 49 yards and rushed once for a 28-yard touchdown in Buffalo's 28-27 preseason win over the Steelers on Thursday. The rookie fourth-rounder out of UConn led the Bills in both receiving and rushing on the night. He had missed both of Buffalo's first two preseason games due to a lower-body injury but returned to practice last week and was ready to go for the preseason finale. Bell is battling with Mecole Hardman, Trent Sherfield and Dante Pettis for the last spot or two on the final roster, but given Bell has more upside than those three teammates, there's a solid chance he'll be wearing a jersey in Week 1 against the Texans.

  • Bills' Skyler Bell: Won't play Saturday

Bell (lower body) will not participate in Saturday's preseason game against the Browns, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports. Bell has been limited in practice due to a lower-body injury he sustained in practice before last week's preseason opener against the Panthers. The Bills made it clear the injury was very surmountable, but the team is being careful with the rookie fourth-rounder until the regular season commences.

  • Bills' Skyler Bell: Back to side work Thursday

Bell (lower body) was present for Thursday's practice but was limited to side work, Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 Buffalo reports. Bell missed Buffalo's preseason opener last week and still isn't quite yet 100 percent ahead of Saturday's exhibition. The fourth-round rookie should make the Bills' 53-man roster, but him potentially not being able to practice much or play in preseason games would likely hurt his chances for earning a role on game days to begin the regular season.

  • Bills' Skyler Bell: Working through lower-body injury

Bell did not play in the Bills' 29-14 preseason win over the Panthers on Saturday due to a lower-body injury, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports. Head coach Joe Brady relayed to reporters after Saturday's contest that Bell could have played if it was a regular-season game. Bell is expected to be back at practice in the coming week, which puts the rookie fourth-rounder on track to play in the Bills' next exhibition game, which takes place Saturday, Aug. 22 against the Browns. The UConn product is competing against the likes of Keon Coleman, Joshua Palmer and Mecole Hardman for rotational snaps on offense behind DJ Moore (lower body) and Khalil Shakir.
