  • Texans' Blake Fisher: Ready to roll for season opener

Fisher does not have an injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Rams. Fisher suffered an ankle injury during the preseason and began the week as a limited participant in practice. However, he engaged in a full session Friday and will be ready to serve as a depth tackle against the Rams.

  • Texans' Blake Fisher: DNP due to sprained ankle

Fisher didn't practice Monday because of an ankle sprain, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houstonreports. Per Wilson, Fisher's injury is considered to be on the "milder side," but there's no clear timetable for his return. The 2024 second-round draft pick is likely to work in a rotational role along Houston's offensive line during the coming campaign.

  • Texans' Blake Fisher: Good to go against Jacksonville

Fisher (concussion) carries no injury designation into Sunday's game against the Jaguars. Fisher has missed the Texans' last two games due to a concussion, but his lack of an injury designation indicates he has cleared the league's five-step protocols ahead of Sunday's game. Fisher will return and serve as the backup to starting tackles Laremy Tunsil and Tytus Howard.

  • Texans' Blake Fisher: Logs full practice Thursday

Fisher (concussion) was a full participant in practice Thursday and could therefore play Sunday against the Jaguars. Fisher was limited in Wednesday's session and logged a full practice Thursday, so he seems to be trending in the right direction. He's missed the Texans' last two games.

  • Texans' Blake Fisher: Will miss another game

Fisher (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's Week 12 clash against the Titans. Fisher will miss his second straight contest due to a concussion. He didn't practice at all this week, which suggests that he's still in the NFL's five-step concussion protocol. Fisher's next chance to suit up will come Sunday, Dec. 1 against Jacksonville.

  • Texans' Blake Fisher: Still in concussion protocols

Fisher (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Cowboys. Fisher opened the week with a limited practice Wednesday due to a concussion, but the issue evidently has gotten worse, as he wasn't able to practice Thursday and Friday. He'll look to get through the league's five-step protocols and aim to return for Week 12 against the Titans on Sunday, Nov. 24.

  • Texans' Blake Fisher: O-Line depth for Stroud in Houston

The Texans selected Fisher in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 59th overall. The Texans have an impressive tackle duo on paper in Laremy Tunsil and Tytus Howard, but that pairing missed a combined 13 games last season. Getting a quality depth piece who can develop into a starter when needed is a shrewd pick by Houston. Fisher is the lesser known of the Notre Dame tackles in this class behind Joe Alt, but he is talented. At 6-foot-6 and 310 pounds with above-average athleticism and anchor strength, Fisher can hold his own on the perimeter. Fisher started 27 games for the Irish at right tackle, and that will likely be his role in Houston down the road.
