Green does not need to be drafted in anything other than Dynasty leagues. The Browns selected the dual-threat Green in the sixth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. He is a bit of a project, but with Cleveland lacking great options at the quarterback position, it's possible Green could see action at some point this season.

Browns' Taylen Green: Could be active Week 1
Rotowire
Coach Todd Monken said Monday that Green could be active and have a package of plays in Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
It's unclear if Green would be active as the QB2 over Shedeur Sanders, or if Cleveland would make three quarterbacks active, but the idea is out there to get Green some plays after he showed off his elite athleticism with 66 yards on eight carries in the preseason finale. Green is big and athletic and set positional records at the combine back in February when he ran a 4.36 40-yard dash with a 43.5-inch vertical and 11-foot-2 broad jump. There's an outside chance Green sees playing time as a rookie for a Browns team that is likely looking at another rebuild at the quarterback position.

Browns' Taylen Green: Sticking around Cleveland
Rotowire
Green has made the Browns' initial 53-man roster, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Green was selected in the sixth round of this year's draft after finishing his college career at Arkansas in 2025. The quarterback saw limited action during the preseason, completing five of seven passes for 27 yards while also adding an eight-yard rush. The Browns placed Dillon Gabriel (back) on injured reserve with a designation to return Sunday, and Green will get a chance to serve as the team's No. 3 QB behind Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders in Gabriel's absence.

Browns' Taylen Green: Chance to make 53-man roster
Rotowire
The Browns would like to keep Green on the 53-man roster if they can fit him, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Green is fourth on the team's quarterback depth chart behind Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel. Green, a mobile rookie sixth-round pick out of Arkansas, is raw as a passer but has intriguing rushing upside. Cleveland would have to cut or make an injury move with one of the players ahead of Green or carry four quarterbacks to keep him on the roster, which could leave the Browns shorthanded in depth at another position.

Browns' Taylen Green: Set to play Thursday
Rotowire
Green is set to play in Thursday night's preseason finale against the Patriots, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
The sixth-round rookie out of Arkansas has yet to see preseason action. It appears Dillon Gabriel will start Thursday's game, but Green will see the field later on. If the Browns plan to split the halves between the two quarterbacks, Thursday's game could be a battle for a roster spot. The team will be announcing Monday whether Deshaun Watson or Shedeur Sanders will be starting the regular season, meaning that if it plans to keep three quarterbacks, then Gabriel or Green will not survive Aug. 30.
