  • Titans' James Williams: No lingering injury

Williams (shoulder) was a full participant at Thursday's practice, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports. Williams suffered an AC joint injury in his right shoulder during the season finale last year, but there are no lingering effects to start the offseason program. The 2024 seventh-round pick played just 79 defensive snaps over 16 gamers last year. With Arden Key with the Colts now, Williams could push for an increased role in 2026, and he should remain useful on special teams regardless.

  • Titans' James Williams: Dealing with illness

Williams (illness) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Jaguars. Williams was added to the Titans' injury report Saturday and may be unavailable for the Week 13 divisional matchup due to an illness. If he's sidelined for the second time this season Sunday, expect Dorian Mausi and Joe Bachie to operate as the Titans' top reserve inside linebackers.

  • Titans' James Williams: Increased role late in 2024

Williams tallied 26 tackles (17 solo) across 13 regular-season games in 2024. Williams was snatched by the Titans in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 242nd overall. He earned a spot on the 53-man roster after training camp and was mostly used in a special teams role. Williams saw more work late in the 2024 campaign due to the absence of Jerome Baker, and the former logged at least six combined tackles in three of the team's final four regular season games.

  • Titans' James Williams: Registers eight tackles vs. Bengals

Williams finished Sunday's 37-27 loss to the Bengals with eight tackles (six solo). The rookie seventh-rounder started at inside linebacker Sunday due to Jerome Baker (coach's decision) being sidelined. Williams made the most of his opportunity by logging a career-best eight tackles while playing 60 snaps (41 on defense, 19 on special teams). It's unclear if Baker will be a healthy scratch for Week 16 against the Colts, but if he remains sidelined, Williams would be in line for another start alongside Kenneth Murray.
