  • Texans' Naquan Jones: Re-ups with Houston

The Texans re-signed Jones to a one-year, $2 million contract Sunday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Jones can earn an additional $500K via incentives. Houston claimed the 28-year-old defensive lineman off waivers from the Chargers back in December, and Jones appeared in the final four regular-season games in addition to both of the Texans' playoff contests. Jones figures to fill a rotational role along the defensive line.

  • Texans' Naquan Jones: Claimed by Houston

Jones was claimed off waivers by the Texans on Tuesday. Jones was let go by the Chargers on Monday, and he has now almost instantly found a new suitor in Houston. The defensive lineman has compiled 10 total tackles (six solo) and a pass defensed over eight contests this season with Los Angeles, and he'll provide the Texans with an additional depth option behind Mario Edwards and Sheldon Rankins moving forward.

  • Naquan Jones: Let go by Bolts

The Chargers waived Jones on Monday. The Chargers jettisoned both Jones and running back Jaret Patterson on Monday to make room on the 53-man roster after Omario Hamption (ankle) and Hassan Haskins (hamstring) were both activated from injured reserve. Jones was a healthy scratch in Weeks 11 and 13, and in eight regular-season games for the Chargers he accumulated 10 tackles (six solo) and one pass defense. Assuming he clears waivers, Jones could opt to stay in Los Angeles as a member of the practice squad or look to join a team in need of depth on the defensive line.

  • Chargers' Naquan Jones: Joins forces with Bolts

Jones agreed to terms on a contract with the Chargers on Thursday. Jones is Los Angeles' latest addition to a defensive line that saw longtime pillar Joey Bosa be released to begin free agency. Now heading into this fifth NFL season, Jones is a reliable rotational contributor and tallied a career-high 3.0 sacks across his 12 regular-season appearances with Arizona in 2024.

  • Cardinals' Naquan Jones: Career high in sacks in 2024

Jones finished the 2024 season with 27 total tackles (11 solo), including 3.0 sacks, while also adding two passes defensed over 12 games. Jones signed with the Cardinals in late September, nearly matching his career high of 29 tackles in 2021. The defensive tackle did set a new high-water mark with 3.0 sacks and he'll enter the offseason as an unrestricted free agent, potentially looking for a new destination for his fifth NFL campaign.

  • Cardinals' Naquan Jones: Appears past thigh injury

Jones (thigh) was a full practice participant Wednesday, Zach Gershman of the Cardinals' official site reports. Gershman was sidelined for the Cardinals' Week 9 win over the Bears due to a thigh injury. His ability to practice without limitations Wednesday indicates that, barring any setbacks, he should be able to play against the Jets on Sunday. Should he play, Jones would reclaim his starting spot at defensive tackle alongside Roy Lopez while Khyiris Tonga provides rotational depth.
