  • Saints' Terrell Burgess: Staying in New Orleans

Burgess and the Saints agreed to terms on a contract Tuesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. The 27-year-old from Utah is set to remain in New Orleans after spending 2025 with the team. Across 16 games and 319 total snaps (206 on special teams, 113 on defense) last season, Burgess tallied 22 tackles and three passes defensed. He's expected to remain a key special-teams contributor during the 2026 season.

  • Bills' Terrell Burgess: Dealing with hamstring injury

Burgess is expected to miss Saturday's preseason game against the Panthers with a hamstring injury, Alec White of the Bills' team website reports. Coach Sean McDermott said Burgess is "more than likely" out versus Carolina. Burgess signed with the Bills last month after appearing in 12 games for Washington last season, finishing with 25 tackles (17 solo) while mainly playing on special teams.

  • Bills' Terrell Burgess: Inks deal with Buffalo

The Bills agreed to terms with Burgess on Wednesday. The veteran safety has agreed to join the Bills after spending his 2023 campaign with the Commanders. Last season, Burgess appeared in 12 games and recorded 25 total tackles while playing just 120 defensive snaps. Now that he's found a new home in Buffalo, expect Burgess to compete for a depth role in the team's secondary.

  • Commanders' Terrell Burgess: Makes one start

Burgess recorded 25 tackles (17 solo) across 12 games (one start) in 2023. A 2020 third-round pick, Burgess made just three starts in three seasons with the Rams and mostly continued in backup role for the Commanders this past year. He did record 10 tackles in his lone start, Week 18, albeit as part of a Washington secondary that allowed the Cowboys to throw for 309 yards and four touchdowns. Burgess is scheduled for unrestricted free agency in the offseason.

  • Commanders' Terrell Burgess: Joins active roster

Washington signed Burgess off of their practice squad to the active roster Tuesday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports. Burgess was unable to make the team's 53-man roster out of training camp, but he was able to stick around on their practice squad. With the Commanders dealing with multiple injuries in their secondary, the 2020 third-round selection will help bolster the team's depth there.

  • Terrell Burgess: Doesn't make roster

Burgess was waived by the Commanders on Tuesday, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports. The 2020 third-round pick out of Utah will not make the Commanders roster after signing with the team on May 30. Burgess also spent time with the Rams and Giants, appearing in 31 games throughout his three-year NFL career. He'll now be forced to look for a new home ahead of the coming season.

  • Terrell Burgess: Set to go to waivers

The Rams waived Burgess on Tuesday. After spending a third-round pick on Burgess in 2020, the Rams have opted to let him go after less than three seasons. The 23-year-old safety will become an unrestricted free agent presuming he's not claimed by another team during the current waiver period.

  • Rams' Terrell Burgess: Set to compete for playing time

Burgess is healthy after missing the bulk of the 2020 season with an ankle injury, and he's expected to help fill the void left after Troy Hill and John Johnson signed with the Browns during the offseason, Jordan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports. Burgess was selected in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft but played sparingly before sustaining a season-ending ankle injury in Week 7. With both Hill and Johnson leaving the club through free agency, there's an opportunity for Burgess to carve out a meaningful role in the Los Angeles secondary. Still, in most IDP settings, it will likely prove best to take a wait-and-see approach with the sophomore.

  • Rams' Terrell Burgess: Moves to injured reserve

Burgess (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports. The team announced Tuesday that the 23-year-old required season-ending ankle surgery, so it was only a matter of time before he move to IR. Burgess finishes his rookie campaign with eight tackles and one pass defensed in seven games.
