  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Ruled out for Week 6

Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said Wednesday that Lazard (personal) is ruled out for Sunday's game against the Broncos in London, Eric Allen of the Jets' official site reports. Lazard didn't travel with the team to London due to a personal matter, and he's now officially been ruled out for Week 6. In Lazard's stead, Tyler Johnson is now positioned for added opportunities on offense behind Garrett Wilson, Josh Reynolds and Arian Smith. Across four regular-season appearances so far, Lazard has secured four of six targets for 24 receiving yards and one score.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Stays back in New York

Lazard (personal) did not travel to London with the Jets on Monday. Lazard is dealing with a personal matter, and his status for Sunday's matchup with the Broncos is now in question. The wide receiver has not been ruled out for the game, and he could still play if he travels to London later in the week. If he is ultimately forced to miss Week 6, Tyler Johnson would stand to see an increase in workload at wide receiver versus Denver.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Quiet in Week 5

Lazard caught one of two targets for three yards in Sunday's 37-22 loss to the Cowboys. The veteran logged 21 offensive snaps and operated as the Jets' No. 4 wide receiver in Sunday's loss, playing behind Garrett Wilson (68), Josh Reynolds (53) and rookie Arian Smith (42). Lazard has now caught four of six targets for 24 yards and a touchdown through four games this season. He's likely to have a similar role in the Jets' Week 6 matchup against the Broncos.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Once catch vs. Miami

Lazard hauled in his lone target for eight yards during the Jets' 27-21 loss to the Dolphins on Monday. Lazard was on the field for 27 of the Jets' 63 snaps on offense (42.9 percent), which was fourth most among wide receivers behind Garrett Wilson (62), Josh Reynolds (42) and rookie fourth-rounder Arian Smith (29). Lazard has logged three catches (on four targets) for 21 yards and a touchdown over the last two games, but his role in the offense is unlikely to expand unless more snaps become available due to injury, illness or suspension. Lazard and the Jets will travel back to New York for the start of their three-game homestand, beginning with the Cowboys on Sunday.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Nabs touchdown vs. Buccaneers

Lazard caught two of three targets for 13 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 29-27 loss to the Buccaneers. Despite being a healthy scratch in the Jets' Week 1 loss to the Steelers, Lazard has played 39 offensive snaps across the team's last two games. He went without a catch in Week 2 but stepped up in the absence of Josh Reynolds (hamstring) in Week 3, catching a touchdown in the fourth quarter. The 29-year-old wideout is expected to remain a depth option in the Jets' wide-receiver corps heading into a Week 4 matchup against the Dolphins.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Active versus Bills

Lazard is active for Sunday's game against the Bills, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports. With Josh Reynolds sidelined by a hamstring injury, Lazard -- who was a healthy scratch in Week 1 -- will draw back into the lineup Sunday. He'll be in the mix along with Tyler Johnson, Arian Smith and Isaiah Williams for WR snaps that don't go to clear-cut top option Garrett Wilson.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Surprise inactive for Week 1

Lazard (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's season opener versus the Steelers, Randy Lange of the Jets' official site reports. After he was a major disappointment in the first season of his four-year, $44 million deal with the Jets in 2023, Lazard had something of a bounce-back effort in 2024, turning in a 37-530-6 receiving line on 60 targets over 12 games. With Davante Adams moving on to the Rams over the offseason, Lazard was presumed to be locked into a top-three role at receiver heading into 2025, but first-year head coach Aaron Glenn has instead elected to make the veteran wideout a healthy inactive for Week 1. With Lazard in street clothes, practice-squad call-up Tyler Johnson could be in position to serve as the Jets' No. 3 receiver behind Garrett Wilson and Josh Reynolds, while gadget player Xavier Gipson and rookie fourth-round pick Arian Smith are available as depth options at the position.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Not on injury report

Lazard (shoulder) is not listed on Wednesday's injury report, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. The Jets didn't actually host a practice Wednesday, but Lazard has nonetheless been given an official clean bill of health to enter the regular season. He missed time in August due to a shoulder injury sustained during New York's preseason opener. He'll join Josh Reynolds, Tyler Johnson and Arian Smith as a member of the Jets' wide receiver rotation behind No. 1 target Garrett Wilson at home versus the Steelers on Sunday.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: On track for Week 1

Coach Aaron Glenn noted Monday that Lazard (shoulder) is on track to be available for Week 1 action, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Lazard, who sustained a shoulder injury in the Jets' Aug. 9 preseason opener, still could appear on the team's first official injury report ahead of Week 1, but barring any setbacks the veteran pass catcher appears to be in line to be available versus the Steelers on Sunday, Sept. 7. Beyond the fact that Garrett Wilson is New York's clear-cut top wideout, slotting behind him is up for grabs, with Lazard, Josh Reynolds, Tyler Johnson and Arian Smith currently in the mix for WR targets that don't go Wilson's way.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Out a couple weeks

Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said Tuesday that Lazard (shoulder) will miss roughly two weeks, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports. Lazard suffered a right shoulder injury during last weekend's preseason win over Green Bay, and it appears he won't be a candidate to play in Saturday's exhibition matchup against the Giants. The veteran wideout's final chance to return to preseason action will come Friday, Aug. 22 against the Eagles. Lazard is battling for a starting role in three-wide sets, but his absence now provides Tyler Johnson with more first-team reps alongside Garrett Wilson and Josh Reynolds.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Dealing with shoulder injury

Lazard has an injured right shoulder and was wearing an arm sling following Saturday's win over the Packers, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Lazard caught both of his targets for nine yards in the victory. It's not clear when he got hurt, but the fact that he was wearing a sling after the game adds a layer of concern about his status. According to head coach Aaron Glenn, the veteran wideout will undergo tests to determine the severity of the issue. If Lazard were to miss regular-season time, Tyler Johnson could have an opportunity to jump into a bigger role as the team's No. 3 receiver.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Sliding down depth chart?

Lazard has "fallen back in the receiver pecking order," according to Mike Reiss of ESPN.com. Lazard agreed to a pay cut this offseason, slashing his base salary from $11 million to $2.5 million after mostly disappointing through the first two seasons of a three-year contract. The No. 2 WR spot in New York is up for grabs, but it sounds like Josh Reynolds has moved ahead of Lazard and others as the favorite. Lazard could perhaps still make a move for the role, but he's also a candidate to be released if he doesn't perform well this summer.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Working on contract extension

Jets general manager Darren Mougey said Sunday that the team is working on a contract restructure with Lazard and hopes to keep him on the roster this offseason, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Lazard was granted permission to seek a trade in early March. The 29-year-old wideout put up relatively mediocre production since joining the Jets on a four-year, $44 million contract two years ago, posting 60 catches (on 109 targets) for 861 yards and seven touchdowns across 26 appearances. It's unlikely that many teams will be interested in trading for Lazard given the size of his contract; therefore, he'll likely be forced to restructure and/or take a smaller salary whether he is traded or remains on the Jets roster. It's also possible, and perhaps more likely, that he will be released if a contract restructure does not materialize.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Gets permission to find trade

The Jets have given Lazard permission to seek a trade, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. The second season of Lazard's four-year, $44 million contract went much better than the first, but it still looks like a huge overpay, and he still hasn't found success with any QB besides Aaron Rodgers (who won't be with the Jets in 2025). A release is more likely than a trade, as Lazard presumably would need to accept a pay cut to generate any interest. He's scheduled for non-guaranteed base salaries of $11 million in both 2025 and 2026.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Scores TD in likely Jets finale

Lazard caught all three of his targets for 71 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 32-20 win over the Dolphins. He finishes the season with 37 catches for 530 yards and six touchdowns on 60 targets in 12 appearances. Lazard caught Aaron Rodgers' 501st regular-season touchdown pass on a 13-yard strike 59 seconds before halftime. The 29-year-old wide receiver scored five times through Week 6, but the Week 18 score was his only touchdown thereafter, as Lazard missed five games due to a chest injury and took a back seat after Davante Adams' arrival. The Jets almost certainly will utilize their out at the halfway point of Lazard's four-year, $44 million contract this offseason, as he hasn't come close to justifying that deal.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: One catch in latest loss

Lazard caught one of three targets for nine yards in Sunday's 40-14 loss to the Bills. Lazard didn't do a good job of working back to the ball on Aaron Rodgers' second interception, so the two former Packers each shoulder some of the blame for that turnover. The drop-prone wide receiver has caught only 34 of 57 targets this season, and Lazard hasn't scored since Week 6. A Week 18 tilt against the Dolphins will likely be his last game with the Jets -- there's an out in the four-year, $44 million overpay of a contract he signed prior to the 2023 season.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Two catches in Week 16

Lazard caught two of five targets for 20 yards in Sunday's 19-9 loss to the Rams. Lazard's ongoing issues with drops resurfaced in this game, as he added a couple more to his ledger. His unreliable hands coupled with a modest target share as the No. 3 wideout behind Davante Adams and Garrett Wilson limit Lazard's fantasy appeal ahead of a Week 17 trip to Buffalo.
... See More ... See Less
  • Jets' Allen Lazard: No catches on four targets

Lazard didn't catch any of his four targets in Sunday's 32-25 win over the Jaguars. Lazard has displayed butter fingers throughout his tenure with the Jets, and he had an especially costly drop Sunday on a dime from Aaron Rodgers that should have been a 30-yard touchdown. Anders Carlson missed a field-goal attempt on the very next play, though Lazard's struggles ultimately didn't prevent the Jets from notching their fourth win of the season. For the second consecutive game since Lazard returned from IR, Davante Adams and Garrett Wilson combined for double-digit catches and well over 200 yards, leaving limited opportunities for the team's No. 3 wideout.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: One catch in return from IR

Lazard (chest) caught his only target for 18 yards in Sunday's 32-26 overtime loss to the Dolphins. Seeing his first action since Week 7, Lazard played 78 percent of snaps on offense, so his lack of production wasn't due to a lack of playing time. He's a distant third on the Jets' wide receiver depth chart behind Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams, who combined for 223 yards and a touchdown on 21 targets against the Dolphins. Lazard will be a touchdown-dependent Week 15 fantasy option against a Jaguars defense that's giving up 26.5 points per game.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Officially available for Sunday

Lazard (chest) was activated off injured reserve Saturday. Lazard is officially cleared to return after missing the past five games due to a chest injury. The 28-year-old might struggle to see opportunities as the No. 3 target behind Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams, especially given the Jets' struggles passing the ball in recent weeks.
