  • Raiders' Geno Smith: Two more picks in loss

Smith completed 25 of 36 passes for 228 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions while adding three carries for eight yards in the Raiders' 40-6 loss to the Colts on Sunday. The left half of Smith's stat line looked perfectly acceptable, but the two picks, four sacks and quarterback rating of 18.9 that comprise the rest of his numbers all underscore how difficult the afternoon was. The Raiders' day actually started off in encouraging fashion via a marathon 16-play, 80-yard drive that consumed 9:50 of the first quarter, but that ultimately culminated in a field goal. The next five possessions would feature a blocked punt, both of Smith's interceptions, a punt and a missed field goal, helping dig Las Vegas into a hole it couldn't recover from. Smith has now thrown nine interceptions over his first five games at the helm of the Raiders' offense, including three contests in which he's tossed multiple picks. Nevertheless, Smith will continue under center, potentially without Brock Bowers (knee) once again, when the Raiders welcome in the Titans for a favorable Week 6 home clash.

  • Raiders' Geno Smith: QBs to Sit

If you want to buy into Smith this week then two things in his favor are his road performances, which included 19.5 Fantasy points at New England in Week 1 and 32.1 points at Washington in Week 2, as well as Indianapolis just allowed Matthew Stafford to pass for 375 yards and three touchdowns in Week 4. But Smith was awful last week against Chicago at home with 13.8 Fantasy points, and he attempted a season-low 21 passes as Ashton Jeanty finally started to dominate. After Smith threw three interceptions against the Bears -- along with left tackle Kolton Miller (ankle) now out -- Pete Carroll will likely lean more on Jeanty in this matchup and limit Smith again. I would only start Smith in Superflex and two-quarterback leagues.

  • Raiders' Geno Smith: Adds/Streamers (QB Preview)

Smith is not a top-12 QB for me this week, but if you streamed him last week and you don't want to trust Bryce Young this week, I would just stick with Smith. Last week was a disaster, but he bounced back from his Week 2 disaster nicely with three touchdowns against the Commanders. I don't expect the Raiders to slow down the Colts offense, which should mean a more pass-heavy approach from Smith in a dome game with an over/under of 47.5.

  • Raiders' Geno Smith: Ugly showing in another loss

Smith completed 14 of 21 pass attempts for 117 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions while adding 31 rushing yards on four attempts in Sunday's 25-24 loss to the Bears. Smith threw an interception in each of the first three quarters before the Bears mounted a comeback in the fourth. The veteran signal-caller was coming off a mistake-free, three-touchdown performance in Week 3, but a pair of three-interception outings have sandwiched that strong showing. Smith will be a risky play against a tough Indianapolis defense next Sunday.

  • Raiders' Geno Smith: Adds/Streamers (QB Preview)

Smith has scored at least 19.4 Fantasy points in two of his three starts and has a fantastic matchup in Week 4 against the Bears. He is averaging 35 pass attempts per game as the Bears struggle to get their run game going and producing an very good 7.8 yards per pass attempt. The Bears defense has been subpar against the pass in 2025 and are missing several key starters.

  • Raiders' Geno Smith: Week 4 Waiver Priority List

Smith passed for 289 yards and three touchdowns in Week 3 at Washington, and he has now scored at least 19.5 Fantasy points in two of three starts for the Raiders. In Week 4, Smith gets a dream matchup against the Bears, who allowed two of three quarterbacks this season to score at least 26.2 Fantasy points. Smith is worth adding for up to 5 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Raiders' Geno Smith: Tosses three TDs in Sunday's loss

Smith completed 19 of 29 passes for 289 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 41-24 loss to the Commanders. He added five rushing yards on two carries. All three TDs went to Tre Tucker, as the duo connected on 10-yard scores in the second and fourth quarters before Smith found his speedy wideout for a 61-yard strike late in the game as the Raiders tried to mount a comeback. It was a strong bounce-back performance from Smith after he got picked off three times by the Chargers in Week 2, but the result was the same for Las Vegas. Smith will try to guide his team back into the win column in Week 4 against an injury-ravaged Bears defense.

  • Raiders' Geno Smith: One To Stash (QB Preview)

Smith was awful on Monday Night Football and will likely be dropped in more leagues than he is added. But if you are carrying two QBs and streaming, Smith could be a start in Week 4 against the Bears. They have given up the most Fantasy points to QBs this season and just lost their best cornerback for the foreseeable future. The Raiders have the second-highest pass rate over expected through two weeks and Week 4 should be a get right spot for Smith.

  • Raiders' Geno Smith: Week 2 Waiver Priority List

We need to make sure Brock Bowers (knee) is healthy if you have any interest in Smith, but he played well in Week 1 at New England with 24-of-34 completions for 362 yards, one touchdown and one interception, along with two carries for 10 yards. He also has a tough matchup in Week 2 against the Chargers, but Smith looks like a good fit in Chip Kelly's offense, at least after one game. In deeper leagues, Smith is worth adding for 1 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Raiders' Geno Smith: Adds/Streamers (QB Preview)

If Geno Smith comes anywhere close to his Week 1 performance this week, then we will have to strongly consider changing our priors on him and the Raiders passing game. This offense was one of the best in the league in terms of pass efficiency and one of the worst in the league in terms of run efficiency. They also had the highest pass rate over expected in Week 1. Chip Kelly has presided over a couple of high-volume pass offenses in the past, and this could be another. Also, if you're scared of Tagovailoa's floor, Smith should be a much safer starting option.

  • Raiders' Geno Smith: Massive yardage total in team debut

Smith completed 24 of 34 passes for 362 yards with a touchdown and an interception while adding two rushes for 10 yards in the Raiders' 20-13 win over the Patriots on Sunday. The veteran signal-caller looked right at home in a Raiders uniform from the opening possession, which he capped off with perfect 26-yard scoring strike to Tre Tucker. While that would be Smith's only touchdown toss of the game, he would pile up a fantasy-friendly yardage total by connecting with seven different pass catchers, including a trio of rookies in Dont'e Thornton, Jack Bech and Ashton Jeanty. Smith also displayed excellent chemistry with star tight end Brock Bowers, but the latter notably exited the game in the second half with a knee injury. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports Bowers downplayed the injury after the contest and stated he wanted to return to the game, so Smith appears to have a good chance of having access to his top target for a Week 2 AFC West home showdown against the Chargers on Monday night, Sept. 15.

  • Raiders' Geno Smith: Sharp on one drive Saturday

Smith completed two of three passes for 26 yards and a touchdown in the Raiders' 20-10 preseason loss to the Cardinals on Saturday night. Smith wrapped up his preseason by cashing in on the Raiders' opening drive, one where he recorded nine- and 17-yard completions to Michael Mayer and Dont'e Thornton, respectively, with the latter throw going for a touchdown. Smith also had a 10-yard completion to Thornton on third down erased from the books thanks to Las Vegas accepting a pass interference penalty, making it an encouraging night overall for the veteran signal-caller. Smith's primary backup Aidan O'Connell notably exited with a wrist injury later in Saturday's game, so Smith could be set to be backed up by rookie sixth-round pick Cam Miller for a Week 1 road matchup against the Patriots on Sunday, Sept. 7.

  • Raiders' Geno Smith: Efficient in exhibition loss

Smith went 6-for-8 for 55 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in Saturday's preseason defeat against San Francisco. Smith played just one drive in Las Vegas' preseason opener against the Seahawks on Aug. 7, but he doubled that amount Saturday, playing into the early part of the second quarter. The veteran QB led his team to two scores -- a 41-yard Daniel Carlson field goal and a one-yard Ashton Jeanty touchdown. Notably, Smith connected on a 28-yard pass play with Brock Bowers on the Raiders' first offensive snap, perhaps signaling strong chemistry between the quarterback and his top option through the air. Smith isn't the flashiest of signal-callers, but he represents a significant upgrade at the position for Las Vegas after the team made do with a combination of Gardner Minshew and Aidan O'Connell under center last year.

  • Raiders' Geno Smith: Agrees to extension

The Raiders and Smith agreed to a two-year extension Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Upon getting dealt from Seattle to Las Vegas on March 7, Smith still had one year remaining on his existing contract, but the Raiders have made a new commitment to the quarterback, with Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reporting the deal is worth $85.5 million, with $66.5 million guaranteed. The 34-year-old thus can be expected to be a Raider beyond the 2025 campaign after averaging 249.5 yards per game and compiling a 71:35 TD:INT over 49 starts the previous three seasons.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: Injures hip in Week18 win

Smith (hip) completed 20 of 27 pass attempts for 223 yards and four touchdowns while rushing twice for 14 yards in Sunday's 30-25 win over the Rams. Smith saved arguably his best performance of the campaign from the pocket for the last game of the regular season. However, the veteran signal-caller suffered a hip injury on Seattle's final possession in a game that had no implications on the playoff picture for the Seahawks, as reported by Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times. The severity of the injury is currently unclear, but Smith will have the entire offseason to recoup before running things back in 2025 for the final period of his current three-year contract with Seattle.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: Modest numbers in low-scoring win

Smith completed 17 of 23 passes for 160 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and rushed three times for 19 yards in the Seahawks' 6-3 win over the Bears on Thursday night. He also committed two fumbles, recovering one. As the final score indicates, the game wasn't exactly an offensive showcase, and Smith's yardage total, his second lowest of the season, further corroborates the futility. However, the veteran signal-caller was accurate and connected with six different targets overall, albeit with just one completion of over 20 yards. Smith did go without a touchdown for the second time in the last three games, but he helped keep the Seahawks firmly in contention for both an NFC West title and a wild-card spot ahead of a Week 18 road showdown with the division-leading Rams.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: Posts big numbers in loss

Smith completed 31 of 43 pass attempts for 314 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions while taking his only carry for eight yards in Sunday's 27-24 loss to Minnesota. Smith was cleared from the knee injury that forced him out of last week's contest against Green Bay prior to Sunday's kickoff, and the end result was a strong performance from a fantasy perspective. It was the veteran QB's second game of the season with three touchdown passes thrown and the fifth time he has eclipsed the 300-yard mark through 15 starts. Smith's passing volume (3,937 yards) has helped offset a mediocre 17:15 TD:INT on the campaign. With the minor knee injury in the rearview mirror, Smith makes for a fine play in Week 17 against the lowly Bears on Thursday Night Football.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: No injury designation

Smith (knee) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against Minnesota, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports. Smith was unable to finish Sunday's loss to the Packers but has been a full practice participant throughout the week. While it's possible his mobility is affected, he'll make another start Sunday versus the Vikings.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: Expecting to play Sunday

Smith (knee) said Thursday that he expects to play in the Seahawks' Week 16 matchup with the Vikings, John Boyle of the team's official site reports. "I'm getting better every day, and I'm looking forward to Sunday," Smith added. Smith was forced out of this past Sunday's loss in the third quarter after he took a low hit from a Packers defender and didn't return. He received positive results from testing in the days following the contest, and he's now logged back-to-back full practices to begin Week 16 prep, per Boyle. All signs point to Smith being under center for Seattle after Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: Puts in full practice Wednesday

Smith (knee) practiced fully Wednesday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. Smith injured his right knee in the second half of this past Sunday's loss to the Packers and wasn't able to return. He was able to work out Monday, then received encouraging results after undergoing tests on his knee. With no limitations to begin Week 16 prep, Smith thus is set to remain the Seahawks' starting quarterback Sunday against the Vikings.
