  • Jets' Tyler Johnson: No targets in Week 11

Johnson wasn't targeted in Thursday's 27-14 loss to the Patriots. Johnson reached 60 receiving yards in both of the previous games the Jets played without Garrett Wilson (knee), but those came before the team added John Metchie and Adonai Mitchell via trade. Mitchell and Metchie combined for four of the five catches by Jets wide receivers in Thursday's loss. Johnson was on the field for 53 percent of snaps on offense, but given Justin Fields' inability to consistently complete passes to wide receivers coupled with the increased competition for targets at the position, Johnson's fantasy appeal is limited heading into a Week 12 trip to Baltimore.

  • Jets' Tyler Johnson: Cools off after bye

Johnson didn't catch his only target in Sunday's 27-20 win over the Browns. Johnson led the Jets in receiving yards each of their previous two games but was a non-factor in Sunday's unusual win, which was fueled by a pair of touchdowns on special teams. Garrett Wilson (knee) departed the game in his return from a two-game absence, and Wilson could join Josh Reynolds (hip) on the sidelines Thursday against the Patriots. That would give Johnson another opportunity to step up in Week 11, though recent additions Adonai Mitchell and John Metchie could also take on bigger roles.

  • Jets' Tyler Johnson: Blanked in Week 6

Johnson didn't catch his only target in Sunday's 13-11 loss to the Broncos. Justin Fields threw for just 45 yards, so Johnson unsurprisingly failed to get involved in the low-scoring loss. Even if Garrett Wilson (knee) were to sit out Week 7 against the Panthers, Johnson's upside would be capped due to Fields' struggles throwing the ball.

  • Jets' Tyler Johnson: Non-factor in Week 5

Johnson was not targeted in Sunday's 37-22 loss to the Cowboys. The veteran wideout from Minnesota was a healthy scratch in the Jets' Week 4 loss to the Dolphins but returned in Week 5. However, Johnson played just three offensive snaps and wasn't involved in the team's offensive gameplan. He appears to be out of favor in the Jets' receiving corps, playing behind Garrett Wilson, Josh Reynolds, Arian Smith and Allen Lazard. If Johnson is active for the Week 6 matchup against the Broncos, he'll likely play another depth role.

  • Jets' Tyler Johnson: Logs 32 yards in Week 3

Johnson caught two of three targets for 32 yards in Sunday's 29-27 loss to the Buccaneers. For the second consecutive week, the 27-year-old received increased snaps with the Jets' first-team offense while filling in for the injured Josh Reynolds (hamstring). Johnson tied Allen Lazard for the second-most targets among New York receivers, trailing Garrett Wilson's 13 looks. Regardless of whether Reynolds returns in the Jets' Week 4 matchup against the Dolphins, Johnson is expected to continue playing a depth role in the team's wide-receiver corps.

  • Jets' Tyler Johnson: Makes two catches in loss

Johnson caught both of his targets for 31 yards in Sunday's 34-32 loss to the Steelers. Johnson finished third on the team in receiving yards behind Garrett Wilson (95) and Breece Hall (38). The Jets don't have many playmakers on offense besides Wilson, Hall and quarterback Justin Fields. Johnson could remain in the mix as a secondary option in the Jets' passing game against the Bills in Week 2.

  • Jets' Tyler Johnson: Elevated from practice squad

The Jets elevated Johnson from the practice squad Saturday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. The 27-year-old wideout appeared in 15 regular-season games for the Rams last season and produced a 26-291-1 receiving line on 41 targets. He'll provide depth behind Garrett Wilson and Josh Reynolds on Sunday against the Steelers.

  • Rams' Tyler Johnson: Modest numbers as a backup

Johnson caught 26 passes for 291 yards and a touchdown during the 2024 regular season. Given the Rams' injury woes for much of the season, Johnson's second season with the team bore more fruit, as he was on the field for 345 snaps on offense and held his own when pressed into significant action, including a 5-79-0 line in the Week 1 opener against the Lions. The Rams have a lot of questions in the offseason at wide receiver, with Cooper Kupp a candidate for trade or release and Demarcus Robinson, Tutu Atwell and Johnson all unrestricted free agents, but Johnson's budding role may entice the Rams to give him another shot to work alongside Puka Nacua, Jordan Whittington and Xavier Smith.

  • Rams' Tyler Johnson: Healthy scratch in divisional round

Johnson (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's NFC divisional-round game against the Eagles. Johnson was also a healthy scratch for Monday's 27-9 wild-card win over the Vikings. The 2020 fifth-round pick saw significant playing time earlier in the year when wideouts Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua were injured. But, he caught just five passes over the final eight weeks of the regular season, and four of these receptions came in the regular-season finale when the Rams rested Kupp and Nacua. With Johnson sidelined, Nacua, Kupp, Demarcus Robinson, Tutu Atwell, Jordan Whittington and Xavier Smith will serve as the active wideouts for Los Angeles on Sunday.

  • Rams' Tyler Johnson: Inactive for Week 16

Johnson (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jets, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports. Johnson has been held without a catch in each of the Rams' last three games, and he will observe Sunday's game from the sidelines. His next opportunity to play will be Week 17 against the Cardinals on Saturday, Dec. 28. Demarcus Robinson, Tutu Atwell and Jordan Whittington will serve as the Rams' depth wideouts behind Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp due to Johnson's absence.

  • Rams' Tyler Johnson: Makes 11-yard catch

Johnson caught his only target for 11 yards during Sunday's 37-20 loss to the Eagles. The veteran's only contribution for the team was a fourth-quarter grab that garnered a first down for the Rams. Johnson and Tutu Atwell were the only receivers to spell starters Puka Nacua, Cooper Kupp and Demarcus Robinson, and that role seems unlikely to change even with a tantalizing matchup against an exploitable Saints defense on tap for Week 13.

  • Rams' Tyler Johnson: Blanked for third time this season

Johnson failed to record a catch during Sunday's 28-22 win against the Patriots. Johnson was on the field for a season-low seven snaps, and his usage puts him clearly in the backup tier along with Tutu Atwell and Jordan Whittington. Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp combined to put up a monster 13-229-3 line, and Demarcus Robinson continued his role as the tertiary target at wideout. Johnson's role is unlikely to change barring injury, and a difficult matchup against the Eagles lies in wait Week 12.

  • Rams' Tyler Johnson: Invisible in loss

Johnson failed to record a target and played 11 snaps on offense during Sunday's 24-19 loss to the Packers. For the first time this season, Johnson was completely blanked on the stat sheet, a week after failing to secure his lone target in a loss to the Bears. Even with Cooper Kupp (ankle) and Puka Nacua (knee) out, Johnson's role has steadily reduced as Demarcus Robinson, Tutu Atwell and Jordan Whittington have commanded the majority of Matthew Stafford's attention among wideouts. With Kupp potentially returning after the Rams' Week 6 bye and Nacua returning shortly after, Johnson's already limited role likely will continue to be reduced in the coming weeks.

  • Rams' Tyler Johnson: Nabs three catches Sunday

Johnson brought in three of four targets for 20 yards in Sunday's 27-24 win over the 49ers. The fourth-year backup recorded his second game with 20 yards receiving since being elevated to help replace Puka Nacua (knee) and Cooper Kupp (ankle) in the starting lineup. Johnson still lacks the upside needed to warrant starting in standard fantasy formats, but he is certainly a name worth monitoring heading into a Week 4 matchup against the Bears.

  • Rams' Tyler Johnson: Shines vs. Lions

Johnson caught five of his seven targets for 79 yards during Sunday night's 26-20 loss to the Lions. Johnson took full advantage of his increased opportunities, as he saw more playing time with Puka Nacua (knee) missing the second half of Sunday night's affair. The first-year Ram caught four of his five passes in the second half, including a 63-yarder that helped set up a scoring drive for Los Angeles. Johnson played over other options such as Jordan Whittington and Tutu Atwell, likely indicating that he'll have a fairly large role in the Rams offense as long as Nacua remains sidelined.

  • Rams' Tyler Johnson: Earns just two touches in 2023

Johnson caught two passes for eight yards and a touchdown during the 2023 regular season. There was little opportunity for the fourth year wideout to produce, as the receiving corps as a whole for the Rams stayed relatively healthy apart from Cooper Kupp missing four games at the start of the year. Johnson was only activated from the practice squad once all season, earning his third touchdown in four seasons in the NFL with both the Rams and 49ers resting starters for the playoffs. Johnson is a restricted free agent in 2024, but with how little he was utilized by the Rams, he likely will have to find an opportunity elsewhere next season.

  • Tyler Johnson: Returns to practice squad

Johnson reverted to the Rams' practice squad Monday. Johnson was active, but he didn't play in Sunday's win over the Commanders. The wide receiver has yet to appear in a game this season and will now wait for his next shot to be elevated from the practice unit.

  • Tyler Johnson: Waived by Los Angeles

The Rams waived Johnson on Tuesday, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports. Johnson had a stellar performance during the Rams' preseason opener but declined over the next two exhibition matchups and was unable to land a spot on the 53-man roster. The Minnesota product appeared in just two games with the Texans last year and will now need to seek out other opportunities.

  • Rams' Tyler Johnson: Garners just six yards

Johnson caught two of three targets for six yards in Saturday's 41-0 preseason loss to the Broncos. Drawing the start alongside fellow roster bubble candidate Demarcus Robinson, Johnson was unable to do much with his trio of targets on a night the Rams offense as a whole failed at every level. Ben Skowronek notably got the night off, a sign coach Sean McVay is sold on him making the 53-man roster. This would make Skowronek the fifth wideout on the team along with Cooper Kupp, Van Jefferson, Tutu Atwell and Puka Nacua. The Rams did keep seven wide receivers on their roster last year, but if they choose to add more depth at other positions, Robinson's utility at multiple roles in the offense might give him a slight edge over Johnson for what could be the final wide receiver slot on the team.

  • Rams' Tyler Johnson: Paces L.A. receivers in loss

Johnson secured five of seven targets for 70 yards during the Rams' 34-17 preseason loss to the Chargers on Saturday. A breakout performance in the preseason doesn't always translate to success in the regular season; just ask 2022 Rams preseason darling Lance McCutcheon. But it does help move the needle above fellow wideouts who may be on the roster bubble, and Johnson impressed with a pair of lengthy catches, including a team-high 34-yard scamper on a slant route, and led the team in catches, targets and yardage. With Cooper Kupp (hamstring), Van Jefferson, Puka Nacua, Tutu Atwell and Ben Skowronek all likely to make the initial 53-man roster, Johnson and fellow free-agent signing DeMarcus Robinson are in a pack with McCutcheon, Austin Trammel and Xavier Smith, among others, for likely two remaining roster spots, as the Rams kept seven wide receivers on the initial 53-man roster in 2022.
