  • Jets' Tyrod Taylor: Ready to practice after bye week

Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said Monday that Taylor (knee) will resume practicing this week, Eric Allen of the Jets' official site reports. After the Jets fell to 0-7 following a 13-6 loss to the Panthers on Oct. 19, all signs seemed to point to Taylor displacing the struggling Justin Fields as the team's starting quarterback. However, Taylor picked up a knee injury at some point during his appearance in relief of Fields in the loss to Carolina, and Taylor ended up being a limited participant throughout Week 8 prep before being ruled out ahead of the Jets' matchup with the Bengals. Fields continued to direct the offense and turned in one of his best performances of the season en route to leading the Jets to a come-from-behind 39-38 victory over Cincinnati, but Glenn remains non-committal on a starting quarterback coming out of the team's Week 9 bye. Fields' stellar outing might be enough to give him the early edge on the starting nod for Sunday's game against the Browns, even though Taylor looks like he could be back to full health. The Jets' first Week 10 practice report will be posted Wednesday and reveal whether Taylor remains limited or has upgraded to full activity.

  • Jets' Tyrod Taylor: Won't play Week 8

Taylor (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bengals. Head coach Aaron Glenn opted not to name a starter throughout Week 8 prep, but Taylor's absence due to a knee contusion means Justin Fields will be under center for Sunday's road game, per Adam Schefter of ESPN, while Brady Cook is expected to be elevated from the practice squad to the active roster. Taylor started the week splitting first-team reps with Fields, but the former's knee injury is severe enough for him to not travel with the team to Cincinnati. The Jets are on a bye for Week 9, so Taylor will have more time to recover and return for Week 10 against the Browns on Sunday, Nov. 9, though whether he starts against Cleveland will largely depend on Fields' performance in Week 8.

  • Jets' Tyrod Taylor: Questionable as QB1 yet to be named

Taylor (knee) will remain limited at Friday's practice and be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bengals, Eric Allen of the Jets' official site reports. Head coach Aaron Glenn has yet to name a starter for Sunday's game. Taylor could get the nod given Justin Fields' recent struggles, but Taylor will first have to gain medical clearance to play Sunday. Regardless of who is under center, the Jets will remain without top wide receiver Garrett Wilson (knee) this weekend.

  • Jets' Tyrod Taylor: Remains limited Thursday

Taylor (knee) was a limited participant at practice Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Taylor said he took a helmet to the knee in this past Sunday's loss to the Panthers. He replaced the ineffective Justin Fields at halftime of that game. Taylor and Fields have subsequently split reps in practice. The Jets have yet to announce which quarterback will start Sunday in Cincinnati, but Taylor will first need to show that he's healthy enough to suit up in order to remain in starting consideration.

  • Jets' Tyrod Taylor: Shares first-team reps while limited

Taylor (knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. It's a good sign for Taylor that the knee injury he picked up Sunday didn't stop him from practicing Wednesday, although he didn't do enough to be listed as a full participant. Fellow Jets quarterback Justin Fields told reporters that he and Taylor split first-team reps, with Fields also saying that he doesn't know which of them will start Sunday's game at Cincinnati, per Connor Hughes of SNY.tv. It at least appears Taylor's knee injury won't be the deciding factor. Meanwhile, Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said Wednesday that he's already made his decision on the Week 8 starter but is keeping it a secret, with Cimini reporting that his sources consider Taylor the favorite.

  • Jets' Tyrod Taylor: Likely taking over as starter

Head coach Aaron Glenn hasn't announced his plans at quarterback for Sunday's game in Cincinnati, but the Jets are expected to name Taylor as their starter, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Glenn may not name a Week 8 starter until he meets with the media prior to Wednesday's practice, but the tea leaves appear to be pointing toward Taylor displacing the struggling Justin Fields atop the depth chart in the wake of the Jets' 0-7 start to the season. Taylor -- who previously started Week 3 against the Buccaneers while Fields missed the game due to a concussion -- entered in relief during this past Sunday's 13-6 loss to the Panthers in the third quarter, when Fields was benched after completing six of 12 pass attempts for 46 yards and losing 21 yards on three sacks. Taylor (10-for-22 for 126 yards and two interceptions, 12 yards lost on three sacks) wasn't much more effective in his five drives directing the offense, but the Jets could nonetheless look to the 36-year-old veteran to provide a spark after Fields had been held under 100 passing yards in three of his six starts to date.

  • Jets' Tyrod Taylor: Week 8 Waiver Priority List

If the Jets decide to start Taylor and bench Justin Fields then Taylor has the potential to be a low-end starter in deeper leagues with his Week 8 matchup against the Bengals. And Taylor would be a must-add in Superflex and two-quarterback leagues for at least 10 percent of your remaining FAB. In one-quarterback leagues, Taylor is worth adding for up to 5 percent. The Bengals have allowed four quarterbacks in a row to score at least 19 Fantasy points, and hopefully the Jets will get Garrett Wilson (knee) back in Week 8. Now, there's no guarantee the Jets will start Taylor, so keep that in mind. But given the upside for at least one week, he's worth picking up if you need help at quarterback.

  • Jets' Tyrod Taylor: Week 4 Waiver Priority List

We'll see if Justin Fields (concussion) will return in Week 4 at Miami after he was out in Week 3 at Tampa Bay, but Taylor will be worth using as a streamer in deeper leagues, as well as a starter in Superflex and two-quarterback leagues, if he starts against the Dolphins. Taylor passed for 197 yards, two touchdowns and one interception against the Buccaneers, along with 48 rushing yards, and Miami has allowed at least 29 Fantasy points to all three opposing quarterbacks this year. Taylor is worth adding for up to 5 percent of your remaining FAB in one-quarterback leagues and up to 15 percent in Superflex and two-quarterback formats.

  • Jets' Tyrod Taylor: Mixed results in Week 3 loss

Taylor completed 26 of 36 passes for 197 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in Sunday's 29-27 loss to the Buccaneers. He added 48 rushing yards on eight carries and lost a fumble. The veteran backup QB acquitted himself fairly well in place of Justin Fields (concussion), leading the Jets in rushing yards and tossing TDs to Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard in the fourth quarter while trying to engineer a comeback from a 23-6 deficit. Taylor could head back to the bench in Week 4 against the Dolphins, but if he is needed again, his presence doesn't seem like it will be much of a damper on the offense's production.

  • Jets' Tyrod Taylor: Week 3 Waiver Priority List

Justin Fields (concussion) was injured in Week 2 against Buffalo, and Taylor stepped in and was 7-of-11 passing for 56 yards and a touchdown and three carries for 21 yards. He will face Tampa Bay in Week 3 if Fields is out, and Taylor would be a potential starting option in Superflex and two-quarterback leagues. In those leagues, Taylor would be worth adding for at least 10 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Jets' Tyrod Taylor: No limitations Thursday

Taylor (knee) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Taylor returned to full practice participation for the first time since late July, paving the way for him to suit up Week 1 against the Steelers as Justin Fields' backup. The veteran backup has been working his way back from a knee scope.

  • Jets' Tyrod Taylor: Could be ready for Week 1

Head coach Aaron Glenn told reporters Friday that he's "confident" that Taylor (knee) will be available for the Jets' regular-season opener against the Steelers on Sunday, Sept. 7, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Taylor is recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery that has kept him sidelined since early August. There's optimism that he'll be available for Week 1 to serve as the Jets' backup quarterback behind starter Justin Fields. If Taylor isn't cleared to suit up, then the QB2 role would fall to either Adrian Martinez or Brady Cook unless the Jets opt to sign another signal-caller ahead of the regular-season opener.

  • Jets' Tyrod Taylor: Out for remainder of preseason

Taylor will not suit up this preseason while completing his recovery from arthroscopic knee surgery, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports. Coach Aaron Glenn said Tuesday the Jets are hoping Taylor will be available for Week 1, per Brian Costello of the New York Post, but iit will fall to Adrian Martinez and Brady Cook to handle quarterback reps behind starter Justin Fields for the remainder of the preseason. New York figures to add another signal-caller to the roster as temporary depth.

  • Jets' Tyrod Taylor: Sidelined by knee injury Monday

Taylor (knee) didn't practice Monday, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports. Taylor had previously worked as the backup to Justin Fields, who is viewed as the team's clear starter after signing a two-year contract with the Jets in the offseason. If Taylor isn't available for Saturday's preseason opener against the Packers, Adrian Martinez and Brady Cook would be in line for additional opportunities.

  • Jets' Tyrod Taylor: Week 14 Waiver Priority List

It's not a bad idea to stash Taylor heading into Week 14 at Miami just in case Aaron Rodgers is benched. Taylor could emerge as a starter in Superflex and two-quarterback leagues to close the season, and he's worth adding for at least 5 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Jets' Tyrod Taylor: Expected to join Jets

Taylor has agreed on terms on a two-year, $18 million deal with the Jets, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Taylor is staying in New York but will sport a different jersey. The journeyman signal-caller accumulated 1,399 yards and six touchdowns through the air across 14 games (five starts) during his two-year stint with the Giants. With 58 career starts under his belt, he's a safe veteran choice to back up Aaron Rodgers (Achilles), as the Jets were determined to improve in that department following the 2023 season.

  • Giants' Tyrod Taylor: Nearly reaches 300 yards in win

Taylor completed 23 of 32 passes for 297 yards and a touchdown with an interception in Sunday's 27-10 win over the Eagles. He added 38 rushing yards on eight carries. The veteran quarterback might have topped 300 yards for the second straight game, but he briefly left late in the first quarter to get his thumb checked out, and Tommy DeVito completed a five-yard pass in his absence. Taylor, who has played for five teams over the last seven seasons alone, will be a free agent in the offseason and isn't likely to return to the Giants with DeVito and Daniel Jones (knee) on the depth chart, but the 34-year-old showed in 2023 he can still be effective and likely won't have much trouble landing elsewhere.

  • Giants' Tyrod Taylor: Sleeper QBs

The last two games that Taylor started and finished he scored at least 20.8 Fantasy points. He reached that total in Week 17 against the Rams, and he had 11.4 Fantasy points in the second half against the Eagles in Week 16 when he replaced Tommy DeVito. He should give you production with his legs -- he's run for at least 21 yards in each of his past five significant appearances -- and Philadelphia is No. 1 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks. I like Taylor as a low-end No. 1 Fantasy quarterback in all leagues.

  • Giants' Tyrod Taylor: Listed as limited Wednesday

Taylor (back) was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's estimated injury report, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports. Earlier Wednesday, head coach Brian Daboll named Taylor the starting quarterback for Sunday's game against the Eagles, suggesting that the Giants don't anticipate the back injury hindering the signal-caller's availability for the season finale. Nonetheless, Taylor's participation level in practice Thursday and Friday will be worth monitoring as the Giants prepare for a rematch with a reeling Philadelphia defense against whom Taylor threw for 133 yards in one half of action two weeks ago.
