Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Shut down one week
Langford (forearm) rejoined the Rangers in Detroit on Saturday and will rest for a full week before being reevaluated by the team, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Langford had been on track to return to the lineup Saturday but was pulled from his first game at extended spring training Thursday after aggravating his injured forearm in his first at-bat. He said afterward that his forearm felt like it did when he first strained it, so the Rangers will play it safe and allow him to rest for a while. An updated timeline for his return could emerge once he's cleared to resume activities.

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Setback in extended spring game
Langford exited an extended spring training game after one at-bat Thursday with soreness in his injured right forearm, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Langford was playing in his first game since going on the 10-day injured list last week with a flexor strain. The Rangers seem optimistic that it's a minor setback, but the club is still gathering more information. Langford had been tracking toward a return to the active roster Saturday, but that timeline will likely be adjusted.

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: On track to return Saturday
Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said that Langford (forearm) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Saturday, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Coming back from a right flexor strain, Langford is expected to play a rehab game Thursday before returning to the active roster Saturday if all goes well. It's unclear whether the Rangers plan to use Langford in the designated-hitter slot more often as a means to protect his arm, but in any case, his bat will be back in the lineup on a regular basis this weekend.

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Ticketed for IL
Langford said Wednesday that he's been diagnosed with a Grade 1 flexor strain following an MRI and expects to be placed on the injured list, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
The transaction may not be made official prior to Wednesday's game against the Pirates, but Langford will need to miss time after he felt his right forearm tighten up on a swing during Tuesday's 5-1 win. For his part, Langford doesn't believe the injury is too serious, and he's optimistic that he'll be able to return from the IL when first eligible May 2. Ezequiel Duran will draw the start in left field Wednesday, and he and Alejandro Osuna -- who is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move -- could end up sharing the position while Langford is on the shelf.

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Officially moves to IL
The Rangers placed Langford (forearm) on the 10-day injured list Wednesday.
Langford was diagnosed with a Grade 1 flexor strain following his removal from Tuesday's game against Pittsburgh. Although his injury is severe enough to send him to the IL, the 24-year-old outfielder said he believes he will be able to return from the injured list when eligible May 2. Until then, Ezequiel Duran seems to be ticketed for regular starts in left field, and Alejandro Osuna will come up from Triple-A Round Rock to fill the open roster spot.

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Out Wednesday, awaiting MRI results
Langford (forearm) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.
Unsurprisingly, Langford will receive the night off after he was removed from Tuesday's 5-1 win in the fourth inning due to right forearm tightness, which he felt on a swing. According to ESPN.com, Langford said he had an MRI scheduled for Wednesday, but the results of those tests haven't yet been publicized. Ezequiel Duran will draw the start in left field Wednesday and could end up serving as the primary replacement for Langford if the latter requires a stint on the injured list.

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Removed with forearm injury
Langford was removed from Tuesday's game against the Pirates with right forearm tightness, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Langford went 0-for-1 with a walk before his forearm forced him out of the game in the fifth inning. The severity of his injury remains unknown, but the Rangers will likely provide more details once they get a closer look at the young outfielder. Ezequiel Duran is the top candidate for starts in left field if Langford has to miss time.

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Three-hit game in win
Langford went 3-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored in Friday's 5-0 win over the Mariners.
Langford has gone 6-for-17 over four contests since he returned from a right quad strain. The outfielder is starting to turn around his relatively slow start at the plate. He's batting .214 with a .590 OPS while adding one home run, four RBI, seven runs scored, two doubles, two triples and two stolen bases over 17 games. Langford is regularly hitting second or third in the order, which should give him plenty of chances to produce runs.

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Returns to field
Langford started in center field and went 1-for-5 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Thursday's 9-6 win over the Athletics.
Langford played the field Thursday for the first time in three games since returning from a quad issue, and his activity on the basepaths is an encouraging sign that the injury is behind him. It was the second steal of the season for Langford, who swiped 22 bags (caught six times) in 2025.

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: In lineup, as expected
Langford (quadriceps) will serve as Texas' designated hitter and bat second against the Athletics on Tuesday.
Langford managed to avoid a trip to the injured list after suffering a right quad strain Friday, and he'll now return to the starting nine following a three-game absence. The 24-year-old has started slowly this season, slashing just .170/.185/.340 with a homer, three RBI and four runs scored through his first 54 plate appearances. He'll have an opportunity to turn things around Tuesday, however, as lefty Jeffrey Springs will be on the mound for the A's, and Langford boasts an .828 OPS against southpaws in his MLB career.
