Guerrero will wind up missing out on a second straight start while he continues to tend to a right elbow contusion, which he suffered when he was hit by a pitch in Sunday's loss to the Pirates. The Blue Jays don't appear to be concerned that the bruised elbow will send Guerrero to the injured list, as manager John Schneider told Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca that the 27-year-old is still experiencing some difficulty extending his right arm but was able to take some swings off a tee and against a pitching machine prior to Tuesday's game. Schneider also added that Guerrero could be available off the bench if a pinch-hitting situation arises.

Guerrero was pulled from Sunday's contest versus the Pirates after being struck on the inside of the right elbow by a pitch. Rather than letting Guerrero run the bases before replacing him in the field in the top half of the inning, the Blue Jays immediately lifted the 27-year-old from the contest after he was struck by a 92 mph Mitch Keller sinker. Guerrero was lifted from Sunday's game immediately after being hit on the inside of the right elbow by a pitch during his fifth-inning plate appearance, but X-rays conducted afterward returned negative. Though Guerrero avoided a fracture and was diagnosed with a contusion, Schneider acknowledged that the 27-year-old was experiencing some numbness in his middle and pinky fingers because he was hit on the nerve of his elbow, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports. The Blue Jays will wait and see how Guerrero's elbow responds to treatment overnight before likely reassessing his condition during a pregame workout Monday. If Guerrero is able to take batting practice without too much discomfort, he could be given the green light to start in the series opener against Miami.

Guerrero picked up a minor finger injury in Friday's loss to the Brewers, but Blue Jays manager John Schneider indicated after the game that the first baseman is expected to be in the lineup Saturday, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.
Guerrero's left index finger clipped Jorge Barrosa on a play at first base, but he remained in the game Friday and doesn't look like he'll miss any time.
