  • Lightning's Victor Hedman: First goal since February

Hedman scored the game-winning goal in overtime Thursday in a 4-3 victory over Seattle.

It was Hedman's first goal since February 28 against the Sabres. It was a sweet skill play as he skated in, split the D and beat Philipp Grubauer from in tight. The Norris trophy winner (2017-18) played just 33 games last season and missed all seven games the Lightning played in the Stanley Cup Playoffs as he took time to prioritize his mental health. Hedman is being deployed in a different way this season, allowing others to step up with big ice time and greater offensive opportunities. He has one goal and two assists in seven games so far this season.

  • Oilers' Shakir Mukhamadullin: Nets first goal of season

Mukhamadullin scored a goal and blocked three shots in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Mammoth.

This was Mukhamadullin's first goal and point of the season. The 24-year-old has filled a third-pairing role and will stay in that spot while Jake Walman (upper body) is on the mend. Mukhamadullin's overall play has left plenty to be desired -- he's at a minus-5 rating, five hits and seven blocked shots over five outings. He has little chance of moving into the top four at any stage of the 2026-27 campaign.

  • Cam Fowler D | STL

Blues' Cam Fowler: Distributes three assists

Fowler notched three assists, including one on the power play and one while shorthanded, and added three shots on goal in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Wild.

Fowler didn't do much to begin the year, but he's earned four helpers over his last two games. The defenseman also has nine shots on net, seven blocked shots and six PIM across seven appearances. Fowler's got enough scoring upside to be worth a look in fantasy, though he could run hot and cold on a middling Blues team.

  • Sabres' Mattias Samuelsson: Second straight two-point game

Samuelsson scored a goal and added an assist Thursday in a 5-4 overtime win against Toronto.

Samuelsson's shot from the high slot went over Sergei Bobrovsky's blocker in the second half of the third period to force overtime. The defender has two consecutive two-point games (one goal, three helpers) while Rasmus Dahlin (upper body) has been out. Samuelsson put up a surprising 41 points, including 13 goals, 109 shots and a plus 41 rating in 78 games last season, so the offense is in him. So far this season, he has put up two goals and four assists in eight contests.

  • Quinn Hughes D | MIN

Wild's Quinn Hughes: Dishes pair of helpers

Hughes notched two assists, including one on the power play, and added five shots on net in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Blues.

Hughes has stretched his season-opening point streak to eight games. He's alternated multi-point efforts in that span, racking up two goals and 10 assists so far, including five power-play points. The defenseman also has 24 shots on net, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating. While both Jared Spurgeon (upper body) and Brock Faber (skull) are out, Hughes will see even more premium time in scoring situations.

  • Neal Pionk D | WPG

Jets' Neal Pionk: Racks up three points Thursday

Pionk scored a goal on four shots, dished two assists (one on the power play) and added two hits in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Blackhawks.

Pionk has stepped up in the absence of Josh Morrissey (wrist), earning five points over the last two games. The 31-year-old Pionk is doing a little bit of everything, aside from taking a trip to the sin bin. Through seven contests, he has a goal, five helpers, 13 shots on net, 12 hits, 12 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating while playing in a top-four role. He's at least worth a short-term addition in fantasy while he's seeing top billing on the Jets' blue line.

  • Wyatt Kaiser D | CHI

Blackhawks' Wyatt Kaiser: Snags assist in overtime win

Kaiser registered an assist and two blocked shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Jets.

This was Kaiser's third helper of the campaign. He also logged 21:41 of ice time Thursday, his third time getting over the 20-minutes mark this season. The 24-year-old defenseman has added six shots on net, six PIM, six hits, 14 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating through eight appearances. He's more of a shutdown defenseman and likely won't score enough to help in most fantasy formats.

  • Blackhawks' Artyom Levshunov: Nets game-winner Thursday

Levshunov scored the game-winning goal and added two hits in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Jets.

Levshunov converted in overtime on a drop pass from Connor Bedard. This was Levshunov's first goal of the campaign, and he's added two assists, 11 shots on net, 11 hits, eight blocked shots and a minus-1 rating over eight appearances. The 20-year-old is still a bit raw defensively, but he's seeing steady top-four minutes, albeit without a significant power-play assignment.

  • Luke Hughes D | NJ

Devils' Luke Hughes: First NHL multigoal game

Hughes scored two goals Thursday in a 7-1 win over the Rangers.

It was his first career multigoal game in the NHL; the first one stood as the game winner. Hughes has three goals, one assist and 22 shots in seven games so far this season. He's averaging 24:06, which is a full minute more than last season (23:01). Hughes hasn't been a prolific goal scorer in his career, so these kinds of nights are few and far between. But he's entering the season with good health and hope for his first 50-point season.

  • Kraken's Brandon Montour: Hurt against Lightning

Montour (lower body) won't finish Thursday's game versus the Lightning.

Montour sustained the injury early in the contest, though he attempted to play through it before getting ruled out. The 32-year-old defenseman can be considered day-to-day until a more specific update is available. If he misses Saturday's game versus the Panthers, Cale Fleury will draw into the lineup.
