Rathbone (undisclosed) was placed on waivers by the Sabres on Friday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Rathbone began the 2026-27 campaign on non-roster injured reserve due to an undisclosed injury, but his placement on waivers suggests that he's ready to return to game action. Assuming he clears waivers, the 27-year-old will report to AHL Rochester.
