  • Senators' Jake Sanderson: Good to go

Sanderson (undisclosed) will be in the lineup for Saturday's home preseason game against the Canadiens, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.

Sanderson has recovered from his minor issue and will get a final tune-up before the 2026-27 campaign begins. The 24-year-old blueliner generated 14 goals, 54 points, 147 shots on net and 128 blocked shots across 67 appearances during the 2025-26 regular season.

  • Kings' Scott Perunovich: Shifts to waivers

Perunovich was placed on waivers Saturday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.

Perunovich supplied nine goals, 49 points and 54 PIM in 64 regular-season outings with AHL Tucson in 2025-26. Assuming he clears waivers, Perunovich is ticketed to start the 2026-27 campaign with AHL Ontario.

  • Panthers' Tobias Bjornfot: Heading to waivers

Bjornfot was placed on waivers by the Panters on Saturday.

Bjornfot signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Panthers when free agency opened in July, but he will begin the campaign in the minors. The 25-year-old blueliner posted two goals and four points across 19 regular-season games in the 2025-26 campaign. If he goes unclaimed over the next 24 hours, he will likely open the 2026-27 season with AHL Charlotte.

  • Predators' Justin Barron: Hits waivers

Barron was put on waivers Saturday, Nick Kieser of Lower Broad Hockey reports.

Barron registered nine assists, 31 shots on goal, 60 blocked shots and 37 hits in 52 appearances for the Predators during the 2025-26 regular season. Assuming he clears waivers, he will probably begin the 2026-27 campaign with AHL Milwaukee.

  • Predators' William Trudeau: Claimed by Nashville

Trudeau was claimed off waivers by Nashville on Saturday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

After the Rangers waived Trudeau on Friday, the Predators took notice and scooped up the 23-year-old blueliner. He spent the entirety of the 2025-26 campaign with AHL, Laval, where he compiled eight goals, 20 points and and 54 PIM across 62 regular-season outings. With the Predators claiming the young blueliner, Trudeau is likely set to begin the year with AHL Milwaukee.

  • Red Wings' Andreas Englund: Claimed off waivers

Detroit claimed Englund off waivers from Calgary on Saturday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Englund earned three goals, 13 points and 65 PIM in 52 appearances for AHL Milwaukee during the 2025-26 regular season. Due to Jacob Bernard-Docker's (upper body) injury and Simon Edvinsson's contract situation, Englund could begin the 2026-27 campaign in the NHL with the Red Wings.

  • Caleb Jones D | BUF

Penguins' Caleb Jones: Lands on waivers

Jones was put on waivers Saturday for the purpose of being assigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Jones chipped in one assist, five shots on net, 15 blocked shots and 10 hits in seven regular-season appearances for Pittsburgh in 2025-26. If he goes unclaimed, he could see most of his playing time in the minors this campaign.

  • Justin Holl D | WAS

Capitals' Justin Holl: Waived for AHL demotion

Holl was placed on waivers Saturday for the purpose of being loaned to AHL Hershey.

Holl contributed one goal, two points, seven shots on net, five blocked shots and five hits in nine appearances for St. Louis during the 2025-26 regular season. If he clears waivers and heads to the minors, Washington could call him up at some point in the 2026-27 campaign.

  • Ryan Graves D | PIT

Penguins' Ryan Graves: Dealing with lower-body injury

Graves (lower body) won't participate in Saturday's practice.

Before the Penguins provide an update on his status, Graves needs further evaluation. He earned one goal, 21 shots on net, 38 blocked shots and 23 hits in 22 regular-season appearances for Pittsburgh in 2025-26.

  • Adam Fox D | NYR

Rangers' Adam Fox: Trio of assists Friday

Fox logged three assists, two shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Friday's 6-1 preseason win over the Islanders.

Fox looked sharp in this contest. The 28-year-old defenseman is set to lead the Rangers' blue line in 2026-27, and he should be a high-quality option in fantasy, though a step down from the NHL's top tier of blueliners. Fox has missed the 70-point mark in consecutive seasons but should still be capable of generating significant offense, particularly as part of the first power-play unit.
