Matheson also missed Montreal's previous two games. He has an assist, six PIM, two hits and 10 blocks in five appearances in 2026-27. Matheson should reclaim a top-four spot once he's ready to return.

  • Red Wings' Jacob Bernard-Docker: Lands on waivers

Bernard-Docker was placed on waivers Saturday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

After being activated from injured reserve, Bernard-Docker has been a healthy scratch for four straight games. He hasn't logged any playing time yet this season. Assuming he clears waivers, he could finally see game action with AHL Grand Rapids.
