The young defender has just three points, including the one he scored Thursday, in 11 games. Spence has talent, and he's coming off a career year (seven goals, 24 assists; 79 games). The return of Jake Sanderson and Artem Zub from injury Tuesday stabilized the back end of the Sens, so Spence might flourish under a reduced burden.

Stutzle is on a three-game, four-point scoring streak (two goals, two assists). But the shot bump-up is notable -- he had five shots total in his previous four games. Stutzle's 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) in 11 games so far put him on pace for more than 100 points this season if he stays healthy.

Nemec earned his fourth multi-point effort in seven games. He's up to three goals, 12 assists and 10 shots on net over seven outings. Nemec's profile is shaping up as that of a playmaker, though it would be positive to see him increase his shot volume throughout 2026-27.

Senators' Linus Ullmark: Out 1-2 weeks
Ullmark (lower body) is expected to miss the next 1-2 weeks, Claire Hanna of TSN reports Thursday.
Ullmark was placed on injured reserve after suffering the injury during Wednesday's game against Florida, so we already knew that he'd miss at least a week, and it seems he's not expected to miss much more than that. The 33-year-old has a 7-1-0 record, 1.33 GAA and .945 save percentage in eight appearances this campaign. Jonas Johansson has been called up from the minors, and he's set to be Samuel Ersson's understudy for Thursday's home game against San Jose.

Senators' Samuel Ersson: Drawing home start
Ersson will patrol the home crease in Thursday's clash against the Sharks, per Murray Pam of HockeyHotStove.com.
Ersson is set to take on a larger role for the time being with Linus Ullmark (lower body) landing on injured reserve. The 27-year-old Ersson has struggled to open the 2026-27 campaign, posting an 0-2-0 record, a 4.71 GAA and an .831 save percentage across four outings. If he's to get back on track, Thursday's matchup offers him a solid chance at a win against the Sharks, who have struggled with just 2.60 goals per game to open the new season. Regardless, Ersson should only be considered in deep fantasy leagues as an injury replacement for squads who had Ullmark.

Senators' Linus Ullmark: Lands on injured reserve
Ullmark (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Thursday, Max Miller of NHL.com reports.
Ullmark was injured making a save against the Panthers on Wednesday and was forced to leave the game. With his IR designation, the 33-year-old netminder will be sidelined for at least the next three games, though it could certainly be longer. The Sens brought up Jonas Johansson from the minors and could split the crease between him and Samuel Ersson.

Senators' Jonas Johansson: Called up by Ottawa
Johansson was recalled from AHL Belleville on Thursday, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.
Johansson was sent down by the Senators in early October, but he'll rejoin the NHL club to provide additional depth in the crease after Linus Ullmark (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Thursday. Samuel Ersson will likely serve as the Senators' primary option in the net while Ullmark is sidelined.

This was Matinpalo's first point in eight games this season. The 28-year-old blueliner saw a larger role earlier in the campaign, but he'll likely remain in the bottom four as the Senators' defense gets healthier. Matinpalo can bring some physicality -- he has six hits and nine blocked shots already -- but his offense is likely to be limited in a depth role.

Sanderson notched two assists, including one on the power play, and added four shots on net and two hits in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Panthers.
Sanderson hadn't played since the Senators' season opener, when he was limited to 4:29 of ice time. He missed the last eight games with a lower-body injury, though his 22:36 of ice time Wednesday suggests he's pretty close to 100 percent now. Sanderson should be reinserted into fantasy lineups immediately, as he'll get top usage on the power play and should be capable of producing more than 50 points even when factoring in the time he's missed.

This was Foegele's first goal of the campaign. The 30-year-old winger has filled a middle-six role so far, but he's only starting to see some power-play time. Through 10 contests, he has three points, 12 shots on net, 15 hits, four PIM and a plus-5 rating. Foegele's fantasy value is likely to be limited to deeper formats if he can get more consistent on offense.

Pinto has gotten on the scoresheet in seven of 10 games so far, though he's yet to have a multi-point performance. Stutzle scored a power-play goal and added an assist in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Panthers.
Stutzle was able to make an impact in this grudge match, which saw Brady Tkachuk's first return to Ottawa since a June trade to Florida. Stutzle picked up his fifth multi-point effort of the season while leading the way on offense. For the season, the 24-year-old star has six goals, eight assists, 17 shots on net, 22 hits, eight blocked shots and a plus-6 rating over 10 appearances.

Senators' Samuel Ersson: Makes relief appearance
Ersson stopped the only shot he faced in relief of Linus Ullmark (lower body) in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Panthers.
Ullmark had to leave the game in the third period, but the Panthers really weren't able to offer much of a test to Ersson. Over four appearances this season, Ersson has given up 12 goals on 71 shots. If Ullmark's strain costs him significant playing time, the Senators will go from getting some of the best goaltending in the league to having a pair of question marks between the pipes, as Ersson and Jonas Johansson have little success in their NHL time. The Senators finish a back-to-back set at home against the Sharks on Thursday.

Senators' Linus Ullmark: Suffers lower-body strain
Ullmark sustained a lower-body strain versus the Panthers on Wednesday and will be evaluated Thursday, Andrew Wilimek of the Senators' official site reports.
Ullmark had to leave Wednesday's game in the third period after going down in his crease. The 33-year-old likely wouldn't have started Thursday versus the Sharks anyway, but the question now is if he'll be able to serve as the backup. If not, expect the Senators to make a roster move to add Jonas Johansson from AHL Belleville.
