Tyquan Thornton WR | KC
Chiefs' Tyquan Thornton: Honing in on roster spot
Thornton is likely to make the Chiefs' 53-man roster, Jesse Newell of The Athletic reports.
Thornton isn't exactly a roster lock in the way that Rashee Rice (groin), Xavier Worthy, Hollywood Brown (ankle), JuJu Smith-Schuster and rookie fourth-rounder Jalen Royals are, but Newell reports that training camp has clearly demonstrated that Andy Reid envisions a role for Thornton's 4.28 speed. Newell notes that Thornton would be an ideal fit to take over the field-stretching role Kansas City had relied on Justin Watson, now with the Texans, to handle the last three seasons. Thornton will also be a candidate to contribute in the return game, which would boost his odds of securing a depth WR spot on the regular-season roster.

A.J. Brown WR | PHI
Eagles' A.J. Brown: Not practicing Wednesday
Brown (hamstring) isn't in uniform for Wednesday's joint practice with the Browns, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Brown returned Sunday after missing a week, but he still hasn't been a full participant, making him highly unlikely to play in Saturday's preseason game even if the Eagles use other starters against the Browns. There doesn't seem to be any concern about Brown's Week 1 availability at this point.

Jalen Brooks WR | ARI
Cowboys' Jalen Brooks: Working through hip injury
Brooks did not participate in Tuesday's training camp practice due to a hip injury, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Brooks may have tweaked his hip during the Cowboys' 31-21 preseason loss to the Rams on Saturday, when he played 45 snaps (39 on offense, six on special teams) and logged two catches on three targets for 26 yards. Brooks has seen a minimal role in the Cowboys' offense since entering the league in 2023 as a seventh-round pick, so his attendance at practices and preseason games is crucial for his chances of making the 53-man roster. His practice participation over the coming days will play a factor in whether he'll play in Saturday's exhibition contest against the Ravens.

Trishton Jackson WR | ARI
Cardinals' Trishton Jackson: Placed on IR
The Cardinals placed Jackson (thumb) on injured reserve Tuesday.
Jackson suffered the thumb injury in Saturday's preseason opener against the Chiefs and will now miss the 2025 season unless the Cardinals cut him with an injury settlement at a later date. Jackson played six offensive snaps versus Kansas City and failed to catch his lone target.

Kawaan Baker WR | GB
Packers' Kawaan Baker: Claimed by Green Bay
The Packers claimed Baker off waivers from the Raiders on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Baker played five offensive snaps in the Raiders' preseason opener against the Seahawks last Thursday but didn't draw a target. The Packers are dealing with all sorts of injuries in their wide receiver room, so Baker gives them a healthy body to get through camp and the preseason. He's never caught a regular-season pass in the NFL.

Chris Tyree WR | NO
Chris Tyree: Becomes free agent
New Orleans waived Tyree (undisclosed) from its injured reserve list Tuesday with an injury settlement, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
It looked as though Tyree was going to have to spend the entire 2025 campaign on the Saints' injured reserve list, but he'll now get to test the waters of free agency instead. It might be on another team to give him another opportunity once he's fully healthy again.

John Jackson III WR | CHI
John Jackson: Cut by Chicago
The Bears waived Jackson on Tuesday, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
Jackson spent most of last season on Chicago's practice squad, and he's yet to appear in a regular-season NFL game. He played 12 offensive snaps in the Bears' preseason opener against Miami on Sunday, catching one of his four targets for seven yards. Jackson was also credited with a dropped pass.

A.T. Perry WR | PIT
Broncos' A.T. Perry: Activated from PUP list
The Broncos activated Perry (undisclosed) from the active/PUP list Tuesday, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
Perry missed the first three-plus weeks of camp with an undisclosed injury, but he passed his physical Tuesday and can practice. With Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims, Devaughn Vele, Troy Franklin and rookie Pat Bryant entrenched on the depth chart, Perry is behind the eight ball in the competition for a roster spot.

Ladd McConkey WR | LAC
Chargers' Ladd McConkey: Back at practice Tuesday
McConkey (undisclosed) participated in 11-on-11 drills during Tuesday's practice, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
McConkey said afterwards that he's close to 100 percent healthy, noting that he's focused on "getting my conditioning back to where it needs to be." The 2024 second-rounder has been sidelined due to an undisclosed injury, but he is progressing in his recovery and could be available to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Rams.
