  • Cowboys' KaVontae Turpin: Slated to practice Wednesday

Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Turpin (foot) is expected to practice Wednesday, Joe Hoyt of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Turpin didn't practice at all in advance of sitting out Weeks 5 and 6 due to a foot injury, so his return in some capacity Wednesday is a sign of progress in his recovery. His activity level will be confirmed once the Cowboys post their first Week 7 practice report.

  • CeeDee Lamb WR | DAL

Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb: In line to practice Wednesday

Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Lamb (ankle) is expected to practice Wednesday, Joe Hoyt of The Dallas Morning News reports.

After Schottenheimer said Monday the Cowboys were "hopeful" to get Lamb back on the practice field this week, his comments two days later were a bit more definitive, implying that the team's No. 1 WR is drawing closer to his first game action since he suffered a high left-ankle sprain during a Week 3 loss at Chicago. Assuming Lamb does practice Wednesday, he likely will go down as a limited participant.

  • Tay Martin WR | WAS

Tay Martin: Returns to practice squad

Martin reverted to the Commanders' practice squad Tuesday, per the NFL's official transactions log.

Martin played seven offensive snaps and three snaps on special teams during Monday's loss to the Bears, though he wasn't targeted. With that having been the third consecutive game Martin was elevated for, Washington will have to sign him to the 53-man roster in order to have him play in any future contests, including Sunday's road matchup against the Cowboys. The placement of Noah Brown (groin/knee) on Wednesday may pave the road for exactly such a transaction.

  • Ja'Corey Brooks: Back to practice squad

Brooks reverted to the Commanders' practice squad Tuesday.

Brooks was elevated for Monday's loss to the Bears to provide depth at receiver. He played seven offensive snaps in the loss but didn't record a target. With Washington having placed Noah Brown (groin/knee) on injured reserve Wednesday, the team could again end up elevating at least one of Brooks or Tay Martin from the practice squad for Sunday's road matchup against the Cowboys in Week 7.

  • Deven Thompkins: Reverts to practice squad

Thompkins reverted to Atlanta's practice squad Tuesday, per the NFL's official transactions report.

Thompkins was elevated for Monday's win over the Bills, in which he played three snaps on special teams. The Falcons will have the option of elevating Thompkins for game action up to two more times over the course of the season.

  • Cardinals' Marvin Harrison: Remains in concussion protocol

Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon said Wednesday that Harrison is still in the NFL's concussion protocol, Dani Sureck of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Harrison was forced out of Arizona's loss to Indianapolis in Week 6 due to a concussion, so it's no surprise that he's continuing to progress in his recovery. The second-year pro will need to attain full clearance before being eligible to return to game action, making his status for Sunday's matchup against the Packers uncertain. If Harrison misses any further time, Zay Jones will figure to again step into a starting role alongside Michael Wilson. Jones played a season-high 79 percent of offensive snaps versus Indianapolis due to Harrison's exit, and he paced the Cardinals in receiving yards while securing five of eight targets for 79 yards.

  • Terry McLaurin WR | WAS

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Will practice Week 7

Commanders coach Dan Quinn said Wednesday that McLaurin (quadriceps) will return to practice this week but that his status for Sunday's road matchup against the Cowboys remains uncertain, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.

McLaurin's practice activity on Thursday and Friday will be informative as to his odds of retaking the field versus Dallas, as Washington is hosting a walkthrough session Wednesday. The veteran wideout has missed three consecutive games due to a lingering quad injury and didn't practice in any capacity during that span, though he's reportedly avoided any setbacks in his recovery. With No. 3 receiver Noah Brown (groin/knee) having been placed on IR on Wednesday, it will be an especially notable boost for the Commanders' receiving corps if McLaurin is able to return to action Week 7.

  • Josh Reynolds WR | NYJ

Jets' Josh Reynolds: Will miss practice Wednesday

Reynolds (hip) won't practice Wednesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

With Garrett Wilson dealing with a knee injury that threatens his Week 7 availability, Reynolds' status gains import ahead of Sunday's game against the Panthers. The wideout now has two more chances to practice before the Jets post injury designations Friday, but if Wilson is sidelined versus Carolina, Reynolds -- if active -- could see an expanded role this weekend. The Jets' other rostered WRs are Arian Smith, Allen Lazard and Tyler Johnson, while the team currently has five wideouts on the practice squad.

  • Noah Brown WR | WAS

Commanders' Noah Brown: Lands on IR

The Commanders placed Brown (groin/knee) on injured reserve Wednesday.

Brown has already missed four consecutive games due to a pair of injuries, and being placed on IR will now force him to sit out at least another four contests. That makes Brown's earliest possible return date Sunday, Nov. 11 versus the Dolphins in Week 11. Brown's absence will be especially notable for Washington if Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) remains sidelined for the team's Week 7 matchup against the Cowboys on Sunday.

  • Garrett Wilson WR | NYJ

Jets' Garrett Wilson: Not practicing Wednesday

Wilson (knee) won't practice Wednesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

ESPN's Adam Schefter previously reported that Wilson hyperextended his knee during Week 6 action and is expected to miss a couple of weeks; however, at this stage coach Aaron Glenn isn't ruling out the wideout for Sunday's game against the Panthers. With regard to Wilson's chances of being available this weekend, Glenn noted Wednesday "we'll see how he progresses" during the week. If Wilson ends up sidelined versus Carolina, Josh Reynolds (hip), Arian Smith, Allen Lazard (personal) and Tyler Johnson would be candidates to see added reps in Week 7, while the Jets also currently have five wideouts on their practice squad.
