  • Tyreek Hill WR | MIA

Chiefs' Tyreek Hill: Not practicing Wednesday

Hill (quadriceps) won't practice Wednesday, Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star reports.

Hill headed into Week 6 action nursing the same injury, but was able to suit up this past Sunday against Washington. In the Chiefs' 31-13 victory, Hill logged 47 of a possible 82 snaps on offense while catching nine of his 12 targets for 76 yards and a touchdown. Hill left the contest for a spell when his quad flared up, but he was able to return, which suggests that his absence from Wednesday's practice could be maintenance-related rather than indicative of a setback.

  • Kadarius Toney WR | CLE

Giants' Kadarius Toney: Not practicing Wednesday

Toney (ankle) was working off to the side during the open portion of Wednesday's practice and is set to go down as a non-participant on the Giants' first Week 7 injury report, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.

Toney looks to be trending in the wrong direction for Sunday's game against the Panthers after he was only able to play six offensive snaps Week 6 before aggravating an ankle injury. Citing a source familiar with Toney's injury, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reported Tuesday that the Giants are bracing for Toney to miss at least one game, though the team is optimistic the rookie will avoid a stint on injured reserve, which would keep him out for at least three weeks. Meanwhile, Kenny Golladay (knee) was sidelined for Wednesday's practice after sitting out the Week 6 contest, and Darius Slayton (hamstring) was on the field Wednesday but may need to upgrade to full participation by Friday to put an end to a three-game absence this weekend. Sterling Shepard, who returned from a two-game absence of his own against the Rams, looks like the healthiest member of the Giants' core receivers.

  • Browns' Odell Beckham: Hopes to be game-time call Thursday

Beckham is dealing with a Grade 3 AC joint sprain of his shoulder, but he remains hopeful to make enough progress to be a game-time decision and eventually gain clearance for Thursday's contest against the Broncos, Josina Anderson of USA Today reports.

The shoulder injury likely had a hand in Beckham logging a season-low 55 percent of the Browns' offensive snaps in the Week 6 loss to the Cardinals before he was listed as a non-participant on Cleveland's first two practice reports for Week 7. The quick turnaround for the game against the Broncos could make it difficult for Beckham to suit up, but the Browns will see what he's able to do on the field at Wednesday's practice -- if anything -- before giving him a designation for Thursday. Even if Beckham suits up, he might be catching passes from a new quarterback, as Case Keenum could be in line to start with Baker Mayfield tending to a completely torn labrum of his left non-throwing shoulder.

  • Jalen Guyton WR | LV

Chargers' Jalen Guyton: Incredibly inefficient in loss

Guyton caught just one of his five targets for 15 yards in Sunday's 34-6 loss to the Ravens.

For the first time all season the Chargers passing attack, particularly Mike Williams and Keenan Allen, was completely stifled, which allowed for Guyton to get an usually high five targets. The lack of efficiency with those opportunities likely has more to do with numerous uncatchable passes thrown by Justin Herbert and less of an indictment on Guyton, but it's obviously a difficult line nevertheless. The Chargers will lick their wounds heading into a Week 7 bye before returning to play Oct. 31 against the Patriots.

  • Titans' Nick Westbrook-Ikhine: Tallies three catches

Westbrook-Ikhine recorded three receptions on three targets for 27 yards in Monday's 34-31 win against Buffalo.

Westbrook-Ikhine made all three of his catches on a single drive in the fourth quarter. The most important was an eight-yard reception that converted a third down deep in Buffalo territory, and the Titans went on to score the game-winning touchdown two plays later. Westbrook-Ikhine could be in line for an increased role in Week 7 if Julio Jones (hamstring) is unable to play.

  • Tyler Boyd WR | TEN

Bengals' Tyler Boyd: Quiet in win

Boyd secured one of three targets for seven yards in Sunday's 34-11 win over the Lions.

For the second straight week, Boyd finished behind both Ja'Marr Chase (six) and Tee Higgins (six) in targets. The Cincinnati passing attack has taken a big step forward in 2021, which has certainly been aided by the addition of Chase as the fifth overall selection in this year's draft. Though Joe Burrow is airing it out, Boyd will have games like this when he takes a back seat to the young stars of the Bengals' receiving corps. The veteran wideout will have the opportunity for a bounce-back performance when the Bengals visit the Ravens in Week 7.

  • Jaydon Mickens WR | IND

Jaydon Mickens: Sticks with Tampa Bay

Mickens was signed to the Buccaneers' practice squad Tuesday.

Mickens was released off Tampa Bay's active roster Monday but will stick around the organization on the practice squad. He appeared in five of the first six games of the year and didn't receive a target in 18 offensive snaps.

  • David Moore WR | CAR

    David Moore: Released Tuesday

Moore was released by the Broncos on Tuesday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.

The move was not an unexpected one after the Broncos signed veteran John Brown last week. Moore was active for two games with the team but failed to get a reception. The 26-year-old will likely find another suitor for his services in the coming weeks.

  • Tre'Quan Smith WR | DET

Saints' Tre'Quan Smith: Practice window opens

Smith (hamstring) was designated to return from injured reserve Tuesday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.

Thus, a 21-day window opens for Smith to prove he's healthy and get back on the active roster, or else stay on IR for the rest of the season. The Saints could use reinforcements at wide receiver, as Marquez Callaway leads the position group with 13 catches through five games. Smith is ahead of Michael Thomas (ankle) in his recovery, so he has a good chance to be New Orleans' No. 1 WR for a spell once he's cleared to play.

  • Dante Pettis WR | SF

Giants' Dante Pettis: Promoted to active roster

Pettis was signed to the Giants' active roster from the practice squad Tuesday, Michael Elsen of the team's official site reports.

The 25-year-old was a gameday elevation from the practice squad for Sunday's loss to the Rams, but he'll now join the active roster in a longer-term capacity after C.J. Board suffered a broken arm. Pettis caught five of 11 targets for 48 yards during his season debut and could continue seeing a similar role until one or more of Kenny Golladay (knee), Kadarius Toney (ankle) or Darius Slayton (hamstring) are able to return.
