  • 49ers' Brandon Aiyuk: Leading receiver against Seattle

Aiyuk caught five of eight targets for 63 yards in Sunday's 27-7 win over the Seahawks.

The third-year wideout led the 49ers in targets and receiving yards while tying Deebo Samuel in receptions, and the early switch under center from Trey Lance (ankle) to Jimmy Garoppolo didn't seem to have an impact on his role or production. With Samuel splitting his time between the backfield and his receiving role once again while Elijah Mitchell (knee) is on IR, Aiyuk could be San Francisco's de facto No. 1 WR in a somewhat more pass-oriented offense under Garoppolo heading into a Week 3 clash with the Broncos.

  • Deebo Samuel WR | SF

49ers' Deebo Samuel: Productive again in hybrid role

Samuel caught five of six targets for 44 yards and carried the ball four times for 53 yards in Sunday's 27-7 win over the Seahawks.

Most of his production on the ground came on a 51-yard scamper on the 49ers' second possession that helped set up a field goal, and Samuel likely would have posted even bigger numbers had the game been more competitive in the second half. The team's offense has reverted to its 2021 look with Elijah Mitchell (knee) on IR and Trey Lance (ankle) now out as well, leaving Jimmy Garoppolo under center. However, given his usage last year, that only bodes well for Samuel's touch volume and production heading into a Week 3 clash with the Broncos.

  • Jason Moore WR | DET

Jason Moore: Reverts to practice squad

Moore reverted to the Chargers' practice squad Friday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Moore was active for Thursday's loss to Kansas City because Keenan Allen (hamstring) was sidelined. However, Moore didn't take the field and now will head back to the practice squad.

  • Marquise Brown WR | PHI

Cardinals' Marquise Brown: Good volume but mediocre returns

Brown caught six passes for 68 yards on 11 targets in an overtime win over Las Vegas on Sunday.

Brown has been running his routes from DeAndre Hopkins' former position -- the left outside receiver spot -- but the returns have been lacking through two weeks. His 17 targets in Arizona have resulted in 10 catches for 111 yards and one touchdown, which isn't enough for how much Arizona depends on Brown while Hopkins is suspended. The Cardinals will hope to get Brown going against Tennessee in Week 3.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: Catches seven passes in win

Sutton caught seven of 11 targets for 122 yards in Sunday's 16-9 win over the Texans. He added one rush for five yards.

Sutton's 11 targets and seven catches led the Broncos in both categories. The connection developed this offseason between Sutton and Russell Wilson was on full display Sunday. Unfortunately, Denver's offense struggled through most of the contest, as was the case in Week 1. The veteran wideout could have had a bigger day for fantasy purposes had he kept his foot inbounds on a two-yard touchdown grab in the first quarter that was ultimately overturned. Nonetheless, Sutton's volume was a promising sign going forward, as the offense will likely continue to iron out the kinks as the season progresses. Additionally, fellow wideout Jerry Jeudy exited the game with a rib injury, so Sutton could be leaned on heavily once again if Jeudy misses time. The 6-foot-4 receiver will have a chance to build upon his solid performance when the Broncos host the 49ers in Week 3.

  • DK Metcalf WR | PIT

Seahawks' DK Metcalf: Four grabs in Week 2 loss

Metcalf caught four of six targets for 35 yards in Sunday's 27-7 loss to the 49ers.

For the second straight game, Metcalf saw solid volume from Geno Smith, but it failed to translate into much production. The entire Seattle offense struggled in this one, and the team's only score came on a blocked field goal that got returned to the end zone by Mike Jackson. Metcalf had more success last year with Smith under center, catching 14 passes on 18 targets for 197 yards and three TDs in the QB's three starts, and the talented wideout could break out in Week 3 against a Falcons defense that has already given up huge games to Cooper Kupp (11-108-2), Jarvis Landry (7-114-0) and Michael Thomas (5-57-2) this season.

  • Ashton Dulin WR | IND

Colts' Ashton Dulin: Leads team's pass catchers

Dulin recorded five receptions on seven targets for 79 yards in Sunday's 24-0 loss to the Jaguars.

Dulin took advantage of a depleted Colts' receiving corps to lead the team in targets, receptions and yards. His longest reception came midway through the fourth quarter and went for a gain of 39 yards, but Dulin also managed chunk gains of 12 and 10 yards throughout the middle portions of the game. Once Michael Pittman (hip) is able to return, Dulin will shift back down the depth chart, but he may have gained a larger role in the offense moving forward.

  • Nico Collins WR | HOU

Texans' Nico Collins: Team-leading yardage total in loss

Collins brought in four of nine targets for 58 yards in the Texans' 16-9 loss to the Broncos on Sunday.

Collins paced the Texans in receiving yardage while sharing the team lead in receptions with Brandin Cooks. The numbers, including the target share, was a notable improvement from Week 1 for Collins, who posted a 2-26-0 line on just three targets in the tie with the Colts. Collins certainly has the talent and opportunity to grow along with Mills in the Texans offense, and he'll look to carry over his Week 2 momentum into a Week 3 road battle versus the Bears next Sunday.

  • Seahawks' Tyler Lockett: Tops century mark in loss

Lockett caught nine of 11 targets for 107 yards in Sunday's 27-7 loss to the 49ers.

It was a surprisingly productive performance for the veteran wideout considering the Seattle offense failed to produce any points at all on the day, as the Seahawks' only score came on a blocked field goal that got returned to the end zone by Mike Jackson. Lockett showed flashes of chemistry with new starting QB Geno Smith last season as well, and this is the second time in Smith's five starts for Seattle he's topped 100 receiving yards. He'll look to keep rolling in Week 3 against a Falcons defense that has already given up huge games to Cooper Kupp (11-108-2), Jarvis Landry (7-114-0) and Michael Thomas (5-57-2) this season.

  • Texans' Brandin Cooks: Double-digit looks in loss

Cooks secured four of 10 targets for 54 yards in the Texans' 16-9 loss to the Broncos on Sunday.

Cooks finished tied with Nico Collins in receptions and also paced the Texans in targets on a busy afternoon. Through two games, the veteran speedster once again appears to be Davis Mills' favorite target, already having garnered a whopping 22 looks in that span. Cooks' next opportunity to build on what is now an 11-136-0 line comes in a Week 3 road interconference clash with the Bears at Soldier Field.
