Top Ja'Marr Chase News

  • Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase: Quiet start to season

Chase brought in two of four targets for 12 yards in the Bengals' 33-27 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday.

Despite the Bengals shaking off their usual Week 1 offensive doldrums, it was still a relatively modest day for the air attack. Joe Burrow threw for a respectable 254 yards, but Chase wasn't prioritized anywhere near the norm and actually finished behind all of Mike Gesicki, Tee Higgins and Chase Brown in targets. Chase will continue to be the focal point of opposing defenses every week, but he should be in line for more opportunity in a Week 2 road matchup against a Texans defense that was surprisingly gashed by the Bills on Sunday.

  • Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase: Good to go, no designation

Chase (knee) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay.

Chase was a full practice participant Wednesday and Thursday before resting Friday, with the Bengals citing 'rest' rather than his knee as the reason for Friday's absence. He suffered a minor knee hyperextension Aug. 25 and returned to practice within two weeks. Chase should be ready for his usual role this Sunday against the Buccaneers.

  • Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase: Full participant Wednesday

Chase (knee) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Paul Dehner of The Athletic reports.

It's looking promising for Chase's status going into the season-opener after his full practice Wednesday. He had a knee injury scare in August but has been present for practices since the beginning of the week. At this stage, Chase should be good to go for the season-opener against the Buccaneers.

  • Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase: Trending toward playing Week 1

Coach Zac Taylor said Wednesday he "feels good" about Chase (knee) playing Sunday against the Bucs, Jay Morrison of SI.com reports.

Chase limped off the field late last month with a left knee injury, but there's been nothing to suggest he's in any real danger of missing the season opener versus Tampa Bay. In a potential shootout with the Bucs, Chase is looking like the premier wide receiver play on the board for Week 1 in fantasy.

  • Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase: Present at practice

Chase (knee) is in uniform for Monday's practice, Charlie Goldsmith of Charlie's Chalkboard reports.

Chase limped off the practice field Aug. 25 and was diagnosed with a hyperextended left knee. Prior to Monday, he hasn't logged any visible on-field work in the meantime, so his ability to suit up indicates he'll at least be able to get involved in individual drills. The Bengals will be posting their first Week 1 injury report Wednesday, at which point his activity level will became known as the team prepares for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers.

  • Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase: Doesn't practice Wednesday

Chase (knee) was present but not suited up at Wednesday's practice, Gabi Sorrentino of Fox 19 Cincinnati reports.

Coach Zac Taylor told Ben Baby of ESPN.com on Tuesday that Chase would be limited this week, but he "feels good about" the wide receiver after he hyperextended his left knee while attempting to gather in a deep ball at practice early last week. Just one day later, though, Chase didn't mix into any drills, and fellow WR Tee Higgins joined him on the sideline due to his own heel injury. The statuses of the Bengals' top options at the position thus are up in the air as Week 1 approaches.
