Hunter Renfrow WR | CAR
Raiders' Hunter Renfrow: Won't play Sunday
Renfrow isn't dressed for Sunday's preseason opener against the 49ers, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
Renfrow is one of the few healthy offensive starters that isn't suited up for Las Vegas' first exhibition. The veteran's next chance to see game action will come Saturday against the Rams.

Deven Thompkins WR | BUF
Buccaneers' Deven Thompkins: Pair of receptions in loss
Thompkins secured both of his targets for nine yards, rushed once for eight yards, returned one kickoff for 19 yards and ran back one punt for no gain in the Buccaneers' 27-17 preseason loss to the Steelers on Friday.
Thompkins wasn't quite able to carry over the stellar showings he'd regularly been putting together in training camp practices, but he was serviceable with the opportunities he received. The Utah State product does have an advantage over the player who might be his most direct competition for a roster spot, Kaylon Geiger, in that he was able to record five receptions while also accruing 324 total yards on returns across five games in 2022. The competition between the two will continue in Saturday night's second preseason game against the Jets.

Jared Wayne WR | HOU
Texans' Jared Wayne: Remaining sidelined
Wayne (hamstring) will be out for a couple of weeks, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Wayne was unable to practice Saturday due to a reported leg injury; however, he is currently suffering from a grade-two strain of his hamstring. The undrafted free agent out of Pittsburgh will now focus on getting healthy, so he can return to trying to earn a roster spot.

Braxton Berrios WR | NYG
Dolphins' Braxton Berrios: Gets stitches, set to miss time
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said Sunday that Berrios needed stitches after injuring his head on a punt return and will be forced to miss some time, Adam H. Beasley of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Per Beasley, Berrios can't put a helmet on until he gets the stitches removed, but it's unclear how long they'll have to stay in. The returner's next chance to suit up for game action will come Saturday in Houston, but Miami may keep him sidelined for the remainder of preseason action to ensure he's healthy for Week 1 of the regular season.

Jaylen Waddle WR | DEN
Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: No timetable for return
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said Sunday that Waddle (abdomen) doesn't have a return timetable, but he's happy with where the wideout is at in his rehab process, Alain Poupart of SI.com reports.
Waddle left Wednesday's joint practice with Atlanta after suffering a midsection injury, and McDaniel initially said that the wideout was "fine." However, it's not surprising to see Miami proceed with an abundance of caution with one of its top offensive weapons. Waddle's next chance to suit up for game action will come Saturday in Houston, but the Dolphins may just shut him down for the remainder of preseason action to ensure he's as close to 100 percent as possible for the regular season.

Andy Isabella WR | SF
Bills' Andy Isabella: Key role in preseason win
Isabella caught all three targets for 42 yards in Buffalo's preseason win over the Colts on Saturday. He also returned three kickoffs for 48 yards and one punt for five yards.
Isabella is one of the newest members of the Bills, signing July 28, and it's a crowded receiver room that he's walked into. However, with running back Nyheim Hines being lost for the season with a knee injury, the Bills are looking for speed in terms of depth and being able to return kicks. Isabella will have to leapfrog a few people to land a spot on the team, but he's off to a good start.

Kirk Merritt WR | NO
Saints' Kirk Merritt: Unavailable for preseason opener
Merritt (hamstring) won't play in Sunday's preseason opener against the Chiefs, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
Merritt was experiencing hamstring tightness this week, so it's not surprising to see him sidelined for the exhibition. The former wideout's next chance to make his debut as a running back will come Sunday, Aug. 20 against the Chargers.
-
Tre'Quan Smith WR | DET
Saints' Tre'Quan Smith: Won't play Sunday
Smith (groin) won't play in Sunday's preseason opener against the Chiefs, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
Smith suffered the injury last weekend, and while the issue is expected to be minor, it's not surprising to see the wideout sidelined as a precaution. His next chance to suit up for game action will arrive Sunday, Aug. 20 versus the Chargers.

Michael Thomas WR | NO
Saints' Michael Thomas: Expected to play Sunday
Thomas and the rest of the Saints' healthy offensive starters are expected to play in Sunday's preseason opener against the Chiefs, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
This is great news for Thomas, who's been slowly working his way back into form after playing in just 10 games over the past three seasons. While the veteran wideout will likely be available, he'll presumably be limited to just a series or two.
