  • Jordan Addison WR | MIN

Vikings' Jordan Addison: In concussion protocol

Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell said Wednesday that Addison is in the concussion protocol, Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Addison is experiencing some minor concussion symptoms following a fall during a two-minute drill earlier this week and will be sidelined until at least Monday. As a result, he looks set to miss Saturday's preseason contest against the Titans, giving him just one more chance to see game action before the Vikings' Sept. 10 season opener versus the Buccaneers. In the meantime, K.J. Osborn and Jalen Reagor should get extra first-team reps during Addison's absence.

  • Tee Higgins WR | CIN

    Bengals' Tee Higgins: Back practicing

Higgins returned to practice Wednesday with a compression sleeve on his right leg, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.

Higgins is back on the field in full pads after an awkward landing that occurred Monday. Despite the compression sleeve, there are no indications at this point that the 2020 second-round pick is still dealing with any lingering injury. It's also possible that some of Higgins' precautionary absences are related to the mutual hope between he and Cincinnati that a long-term extension can be worked out prior to the start of the regular season.

  • Damiere Byrd WR | BUF

Panthers' Damiere Byrd: Moved to injured reserve

Byrd (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.

This transaction will keep Byrd out for the entirety of the 2023 season unless the wide receiver reaches an injury settlement with the Panthers, which would then free him up to sign back with Carolina or join another team. Joe Person of The Athletic believes there's a chance Byrd will attempt to reach an injury settlement with the team, as his hamstring injury requires surgery but isn't believed to be season-ending.

  • Treylon Burks WR | WAS

Titans' Treylon Burks: Exits practice with leg injury

Burks was carted off the field at Wednesday's practice with an apparent lower left leg injury, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.

Burks wasn't able to place any weight on his left leg as he boarded the cart to leave practice, per Paul Kuharsky of PaulKuharsky.com. Davenport reports that Burks suffered the injury while connecting with quarterback Ryan Tannehill on a deep touchdown rep. The Titans will hope Burks can avoid a serious injury diagnosis, considering the integral role in the passing game he holds alongside DeAndre Hopkins. The 2022 first-round pick has logged a strong training camp and appears primed for a potential Year 2 breakout, making it particularly brutal timing if his injury is severe.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: Back in action

Sutton (undisclosed) participated in Wednesday's practice, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.

Sutton worked out on a side field during Monday's practice, but he's back in action Wednesday, with DiLalla noting that the wideout has been having a strong training camp. As Week 1 approaches, Sutton, Jerry Jeudy and Marvin Mims look set to lead Denver's receiver corps. On the heels of a 2022 campaign in which he logged a 64-829-2 receiving line on 109 targets in 15 contests, Sutton's fantasy upside in 2023 hinges largely on starting quarterback Russell Wilson turning in a bounce-back campaign.

  • Russell Gage WR | SF

Buccaneers' Russell Gage: Expected to miss 2023 campaign

Gage (knee) is expected to miss the entire 2023 season after being carted off the practice field Wednesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

The Buccaneers haven't yet confirmed the severity of Gage's injury, but it appears to be significant given that it was of the non-contact variety. The 27-year-old wideout will likely be placed on season-ending injured reserve in the near future, with his attention turned toward making a fully recovery for 2024. Tampa Bay will likely add receiver depth behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, to fill the void at the No. 3 wideout spot.

  • Cole Beasley WR | NYG

    Giants' Cole Beasley: Remains sidelined

Beasley (leg) will not practice Wednesday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.

Beasley was also unable to practice Tuesday due to the injury, and it's unclear how much longer the veteran wideout may need to recover before he takes the field again. Considering he is likely on the bubble regarding making the team's final 53-man roster, it'll be important for Beasley to return as soon as possible.

  • Davante Adams WR | LAR

Raiders' Davante Adams: Back at practice

Adams (leg) is slated to practice Wednesday, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.

An apparent right leg injury caused Adams to exit this past Friday's practice, but evidently it was a minor issue, given that the star pass catcher is set to take the field less than a week later. As Week 1 approaches, Adams remains the top option in a Raiders wide receiver corps that also includes newcomer Jakobi Meyers and returning slot man Hunter Renfrow.

  • Russell Gage WR | SF

Buccaneers' Russell Gage: Injury could end season

The Buccaneers fear that the non-contact knee injury Gage suffered in Wednesday's practice is season-ending, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Prior to picking up the injury, Gage was in line to serve as the Buccaneers' No. 3 wide receiver behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. The severity of his injury won't be confirmed until he undergoes further testing, but if Gage is indeed headed for a long-term absence, the Buccaneers will likely add depth at the position in short order. Beyond Evans and Godwin, the Buccaneers have mostly unproven options at receiver.

  • Panthers' Terrace Marshall: Won't play Friday

Marshall (back) has been ruled out for Friday's preseason matchup against the Giants, Augusta Stone of the Panthers' official site reports.

Head coach Frank Reich said the Panthers are "still evaluating" the extent of Marshall's back injury. The third-year player looks like the No. 4 wideout on the depth chart at the moment, so every remaining practice rep ahead of Week 1 will be crucial for any chance of Marshall handling a meaningful role in the season opener.
