  • Cody Chrest WR | GB

Packers' Cody Chrest: Dislocates pinkie finger

Chrest dislocated his pinkie finger at Thursday's practice, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.

Christ was able to pop the finger back in place following the incident and seemed optimistic about his status going forward. The undrafted free agent is competing against a crowded Packers receiving room and presumably on the outside looking in as of now. Thus, avoiding any time on the sideline will be essential for his chances.

  • Patriots' Tyquan Thornton: Leaves practice early Thursday

Thornton (undisclosed) exited practice early Thursday and didn't return, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reports.

Thornton left after catching a deep ball from Mac Jones. The 50th overall pick in last year's NFL Draft, Thornton has had a quiet summer after generating some spring buzz in pad-less practices. Sixth-round rookie Demario Douglas may be passing Thornton on the depth chart behind veterans DeVante Parker and JuJu Smith-Schuster.

  • Patriots' Ty Montgomery: Still not practicing

Montgomery (leg) remained sidelined at Thursday's practice, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reports.

Montgomery's continued absence doesn't help his chances of securing a key change-of-pace role out of the gate this season, and once he's back on the field he'll need to compete for depth chart slotting with Pierre Strong, Kevin Harris and J.J. Taylor. In any case, the Patriots' addition of veteran Ezekiel Elliott to a backfield led by Rhamondre Stevenson represents a hit to Montgomery's fantasy prospects ahead of Week 1.

  • Marvin Mims WR | DEN

Broncos' Marvin Mims: Ready for preseason debut

Mims will play during Saturday's preseason game against the 49ers, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.

Mims sat out Denver's first exhibition matchup, despite having been fully cleared from his hamstring injury, but the rookie second-round pick is ready to go for Saturday. He's facing an opportunity to secure the No. 3 wide receiver role behind Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton, following the season-ending injury sustained by Tim Patrick (Achilles).

  • Seahawks' Justin Marshall: Signs with Seattle

The Seahawks signed Marshall on Thursday, John Boyle and Colin Gunther of the team's official site report.

After going undrafted out of Buffalo this year, Marshall latched on with the Falcons for part of the offseason. He gives the Seahawks a healthy body out wide to get them through the preseason.

  • Panthers' Terrace Marshall: Expected to miss a few weeks

Marshall (back) is expected to miss a few weeks, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.

Marshall was injured in practice earlier in the week and is now likely to miss the remainder of the preseason. His status for Week 1 may also be in jeopardy, considering the season opener is in 24 days. With Marshall sidelined, rookie Jonathan Mingo should open the season as a starter alongside Adam Thielen and DJ Chark.

  • Tyler Adams WR | IND

Colts' Tyler Adams: Signs with Indy

The Colts signed Adams after placing Ashton Dulin on IR on Thursday.

Adams is back with the team after spending time with the Colts during their 2023 offseason program. He'll now compete for a depth role in the Indy wideout corps.

  • Ashton Dulin WR | IND

Colts' Ashton Dulin: Lands on injured reserve

The Colts placed Dulin (knee) on injured reserve Thursday.

Dulin suffered a knee injury in Wednesday's practice and was diagnosed with a season-ending torn ACL. The 26-year-old signed a two-year, $7.2 million deal with Indy in the offseason and is under contract through 2024. Dulin's loss will be felt mainly on special teams.

  • Russell Gage WR | SF

Buccaneers' Russell Gage: Suffers torn patellar tendon

Coach Todd Bowles confirmed Thursday that Gage is out for the season with a torn patellar tendon, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.

With Gage likely to be placed on IR in short order, the Buccaneers' depth behind top two wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin takes a big hit. Among those now in the mix to make cases for expanded roles this coming season are rookie sixth-round pick Trey Palmer, Deven Thompkins and David Moore.

  • Ashton Dulin WR | IND

Colts' Ashton Dulin: Suffers torn ACL

Dulin suffered a torn ACL during Wednesday's practice, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Dulin is thus presumably headed for IR, with an injury that Schefter notes is season-ending. In 12 games for the Colts last season, Dulin caught 15 passes for 207 yards and a TD, and his extended absence will represent a hit to the depth of an Indy wideout corps that is led by Michael Pittman, Alec Pierce, Isaiah McKenzie and Josh Downs.
