  • Khadarel Hodge WR | ATL

Falcons' KhaDarel Hodge: Not practicing Monday

Hodge (ankle) did not practice Monday, D.Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Hodge has been unable to participate in football activities since sustaining an ankle injury during the second week of preseason. If Hodge were unable to go for the Week 1 matchup versus Carolina, his absence would create a vacancy in the slot that second-year receiver Josh Ali is suited to fill.

  • Cooper Kupp WR | SEA

Rams' Cooper Kupp: Still visiting with specialist

Kupp (hamstring) is still in Minnesota to see a specialist, with coach Sean McVay saying Monday that the wideout remains day-to-day, Andrew Siciliano of NFL Network reports.

The "day-to-day" phrasing seems a bit generous after McVay acknowledged Thursday that Kupp had suffered a setback with the hamstring that's been bothering him since the beginning of August. The Rams haven't ruled Kupp out of anything besides Monday's practice yet, but it's not the best sign for Week 1 that he's taking a three-day trip to Minnesota to meet with a specialist right when the Rams are starting preparations for their season opener. Any absence would leave the team with arguably the NFL's worst WR group, comprised of Van Jefferson, Tutu Atwell, Puka Nacua, Ben Skowronek and Demarcus Robinson.

  • DeVante Parker WR | PHI

Patriots' DeVante Parker: Back at practice

Parker (undisclosed) was present for Monday's practice, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

Parker wasn't spotted during the last two media-access portions of practice, but he's back on the field Monday, which bodes well for the wideout's chances of suiting up for Sunday's season opener against the Eagles. Wednesday's practice/injury report should clarify whether Parker has been managing an injury of some sort or is past the unspecified issue that impacted his participation last week.

  • Marvin Mims WR | DEN

Broncos' Marvin Mims: Could claim key role early on

As Week 1 approaches, Mims, Courtland Sutton and Brandon Johnson profile as the Broncos' top healthy WR options, Parker Gabriel of the Denver Post reports.

Denver's wideout depth has been taxed, with Tim Patrick (Achilles) and Jalen Virgil (knee) both on IR and KJ Hamler having been waived with a heart condition. Additionally, Jerry Jeudy's hamstring injury could cost him time out of the gate, which sets the stage for the speedy Mims to potentially see an expanded role early on this season. In the event that Jeudy is ruled out for Week 1 action, Mims -- who can line up both inside or outside -- figures to have an opportunity to log significant snaps alongside Sutton when the Broncos face the Raiders on Sunday.

  • Michael Gallup WR | WAS

Cowboys' Michael Gallup: Primed for bounce-back season

Gallup is healthy heading into Week 1 and could be ready to put together his best season since 2020, Saad Yousef and Jon Machota of The Athletic report.

The 27-year-old wideout has seen his numbers decline the last two years in the aftermath of a torn ACL, but a healthy Gallup should provide Dak Prescott with a reliable option behind CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks. Gallup filled a similar role in 2020, with Amari Cooper instead of Cooks as the receiver ahead of him on the depth chart, and turned 105 targets into a 59-843-5 line. Similar production in 2023 seems plausible if he, and Prescott, can stay on the field.

  • Jaray Jenkins WR | PIT

    Jaray Jenkins: Gets settlement

Jenkins (undisclosed) was waived from injured reserve with an injury settlement Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Jenkins' injury details are unclear, but as soon as he can prove himself healthy, he'll now be able to play again this season if he can earn a new deal.

  • Kadarius Toney WR | CLE

Chiefs' Kadarius Toney: Good to go for Week 1

Head coach Andy Reid said Toney (knee) is "good to go" for Thursday's season opener against the Lions, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.

Toney suffered a torn meniscus at the beginning of training camp and missed the entire preseason while rehabbing from minor surgery. However, as expected, the wideout is nearing full strength as Week 1 approaches. While Reid's comments are encouraging, he later added that Toney is still considered day-to-day but is trending in the right direction. It sounds like Toney may still wind up on the Chiefs' initial injury report, which will drop Monday, but the team expects Toney to be available versus Detroit.

  • Bills' Trent Sherfield: Makes initial roster

Sherfield remains on the Bills' roster following this week's cutdowns.

Sherfield was all over the field all summer amid a heavy competition for the final wideout spots, and in the end he won a job while the Bills cut others or moved younger receivers to the practice squad. The intrigue doesn't stop here, as the Bills' No. 3-No. 5 receiver spots seem to present a fluid situation, so the 27-year-old journeyman could have a somewhat important depth role in the offense once all is said and done.

  • Cooper Kupp WR | SEA

Rams' Cooper Kupp: Visiting specialist after setback

Kupp (hamstring) is in Minnesota on Saturday visiting a specialist, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Sean McVay acknowledged Thursday that Kupp had suffered a recent setback, though the coach's use of the term "day-to-day" suggests he hasn't given up on the wideout playing Week 1 at Seattle. Rapoport hints at Kupp missing at least one game, which wouldn't be surprising after the hamstring injury cost him most of training camp and now has him missing practice less than two weeks before the season opener.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Participating in practice

St. Brown (ankle) is practicing Saturday, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports.

St. Brown injured his ankle during a mid-August practice but never seemed to be in serious danger of missing the upcoming Thursday night opener against Kansas City. It's unclear if he'll even be listed Monday when the Lions and Chiefs release the first official injury reports of the 2023 season.
