  • Michael Jefferson: Cleared to look for NFL opportunity

Jefferson has been cleared to fly, meet with teams, take physicals and potentially sign with an NFL team, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Jefferson was involved in a multi-car crash April 9, and after multiple surgeries it was reported that he was expected to miss his entire rookie season. Though the former Louisiana standout's chances of being taken as a mid-round pick in April's draft were unfortunately eliminated, he has now made a faster recovery than expected and will look for a chance to ink a deal with an NFL club. The 6-foot-4, 199-pound wideout may be able to find a practice-squad opportunity early this season.

  • Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Another practice logged Monday

Smith-Njigba (wrist) participated in practice Monday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.

Smith-Njigba has been handling on-field work for a little less than a week after undergoing surgery to repair a slight fracture in his left wrist on Aug. 24. The Seahawks aren't required to post their first Week 1 injury report until Wednesday, but the rookie first-round pick seems poised to be listed as limited, at the very least. The bigger question that remains is whether or not Smith-Njigba will do enough this week to gain clearance to make his pro debut in Sunday's season opener against the Rams.

  • Cam Sims WR | CAR

Cam Sims: Joins Giants' practice squad

The Giants signed Sims to their practice squad Monday, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.

Less than a week after being released by the Raiders, Sims has already found another opportunity with a new team. The 27-year-old wideout drew 18 targets in 17 games with Washington in 2022.

  • Cole Beasley WR | NYG

Cole Beasley: Heads to injured list

The Giants placed Beasley (leg) on their practice squad injured list Monday, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.

Beasley will now be forced to miss at least the first four games of the 2023 season. As long as Parris Campbell is available for the Giants, it's unlikely Beasley is elevated even once he becomes eligible again.

  • Richie James WR | KC

Chiefs' Richie James: Limited with knee injury

James was a limited participant during Monday's practice due to a knee injury.

The severity of James' knee issue remains unclear, but it's a bit concerning because Kadarius Toney (knee) also was limited Monday. There doesn't appear to be too much concern about either wideout's availability for Thursday's season opener versus Detroit, but fantasy managers still are encouraged to check Kansas City's injury reports over the next couple of days.

  • Dareke Young WR | LV

Seahawks' Dareke Young: Goes to IR

Seattle placed Young (hip) on its injured reserve list Monday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

Young will now have to miss at least Seattle's first four games of the 2023 season. Considering the relatively thin state of the Seahawks' wide receiver depth chart beyond the starting duo of Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf, Young's absence could well mean regular snaps for undrafted rookie Jake Bobo.

  • Kadarius Toney WR | CLE

Chiefs' Kadarius Toney: Officially limited Monday

Toney (knee) was a limited participant during Monday's practice.

Toney's participation in practice is certainly encouraging, especially after head coach Andy Reid said Sunday that the wideout would be "good to go" for Thursday's season opener versus the Lions. However, as expected, Kansas City will proceed with caution, as Toney has struggled to stay healthy early in his career. Fantasy managers should anticipate Toney suiting up Thursday, but don't be surprised if he continues to log limited practice sessions.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Not listed on injury report

St. Brown (ankle) wasn't listed on the Lions' injury report Monday.

St. Brown dealt with an ankle injury over the last couple of weeks, but his omission from the Lions' first injury report of 2023 suggests he'll face zero limitations during Thursday's season opener versus the Chiefs. The 2021 fourth-round pick was solid as a rookie, but he took another step forward in Year 2, securing 106 receptions (on 146 targets) for 1,161 yards and six touchdowns.

  • Jalen Nailor WR | LV

    Vikings' Jalen Nailor: Practices Monday

Nailor (leg) was a full participant at practice Monday, Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

It appears Nailor has now fully recovered from the leg ailment that's limited him since July. However, as long as Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and K.J. Osborn remain available, Nailor's path to consistent playing time, let alone targets, is narrow.

  • Jerry Jeudy WR | CLE

Broncos' Jerry Jeudy: Gets side work in

Jeudy (hamstring) did conditioning work to the side at practice Monday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.

Jeudy continues to make positive strides in his recovery from a right hamstring injury sustained Aug. 24. The Broncos have already said that Jeudy won't start the season on IR, but his availability for Sunday's regular-season opener against the Raiders is no sure thing. If Jeudy has to miss time, or is significantly limited while on the field, Marvin Mims and, to a lesser extent, Brandon Johnson will stand to see significantly expanded roles behind Courtland Sutton.
