  • Roman Wilson WR | PIT

Steelers' Roman Wilson: Ruled out for Week 8

Wilson (hamstring) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Giants, Dale Lolley of the Steelers' official site reports.

Wilson couldn't practice in any capacity leading up to Week 8 action, and he'll now miss yet another game to kick off what's been an injury-plagued rookie campaign. His only appearance so far this season came Week 6 versus the Raiders, when he played five offensive snaps but wasn't targeted.

  • Chiefs' Montrell Washington: Elevated for Week 8

The Chiefs elevated Washington off the practice squad Saturday, in advance of Sunday's game against the Raiders.

Washington may get his chance to make his 2024 regular-season debut versus Las Vegas on Sunday. He suited up for six regular-season games with Kansas City in 2023, but he wasn't targeted in that span.

  • Jaelon Darden WR | SEA

Browns' Jaelon Darden: Elevated for Week 8

The Browns elevated Darden from the practice squad Saturday ahead of Sunday's game against the Ravens, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

Darden will have his third possible practice squad elevation utilized for Week 8. The fourth-year pro has been promoted off the practice squad for each of Cleveland's last two games. He played 13 percent of offensive snaps in both contests, while also contributing as a key punt returner.

  • Derius Davis WR | LAC

Chargers' Derius Davis: Unlikely to play vs. New Orleans

Davis (hamstring) did not practice Friday and is listed as doubtful ahead of Sunday's game against the Saints.

Davis has been unable to practice all week due to a hamstring injury he sustained during the Chargers' loss to the Cardinals on Monday. If Davis is indeed inactive for Sunday's contest, Ladd McConkey would likely serve as the Chargers' kickoff and punt returner, though the latter is listed as questionable due to a hip injury.

  • Velus Jones: Waived by Bears

    Chicago waived Jones on Friday.

Jones played 16 snaps (four on offense, 12 on special teams) in Week 1 against the Titans, and he finished that contest with two carries for 11 yards and one catch for eight yards. He has been a healthy scratch across the Bears' last six games, however, and Chicago has opted to move on from the 2022 third-round pick. Assuming he clears waivers, Jones could stick around and sign with the Bears' practice squad or explore his options elsewhere.

  • Ainias Smith WR | CAR

Eagles' Ainias Smith: Past ankle issue

Smith (ankle) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Bengals.

Despite having no injury designation, Smith must still be activated to Philadelphia's active roster in order to suit up in Week 8. The 2024 fifth-round pick out of Texas A&M is expected to serve as a depth piece in the Eagles' wide receiver room in his NFL debut Sunday.

  • Mike Williams WR | LAC

Jets' Mike Williams: Should help replace Lazard

Williams is expected to reclaim a regular spot in three-receiver sets for the Jets in Sunday's game against the Patriots with Allen Lazard (chest) listed as doubtful for the contest, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

While both Garrett Wilson and Lazard were healthy last week, Williams ended up seeing a steep reduction in playing time in Sunday's loss to the Steelers as the newly acquired Davante Adams made his Jets debut. Williams played just 33 percent of snaps -- his lowest share since Week 1 -- and finished with one catch for 15 yards on two targets. Though he's poised to regain snaps Sunday, Williams is still expected to rank well behind Adams and Wilson in terms of target share.

  • Ladd McConkey WR | LAC

Chargers' Ladd McConkey: Status in question for Week 8

McConkey (hip) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game versus the Saints, Eric Smith of the Chargers' official site reports.

Prior to suiting up this past Monday in Arizona, McConkey was a limited practice participant during the entirety of Week 7 prep, which didn't come to pass this week, when he managed just one capped session Friday following DNPs on Wednesday and Thursday. He thus still has a chance to suit up Sunday, while DJ Chark (IR, groin) is listed as questionable and both Quentin Johnston (ankle) and Derius Davis (hamstring) are listed as doubtful. The status of all four wide receivers will receive some clarity before a 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • DJ Chark WR | ATL

Chargers' DJ Chark: Questionable for Sunday

Chark (groin) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints after practicing in a limited fashion this week.

Chark has continued to log limited practices since having his 21-day practice window opened last Wednesday, and the Chargers have until Saturday afternoon to activate him from IR ahead of Week 8 action. If he's available this weekend, Chark could step into a key role in the team's passing offense, with Quentin Johnston (ankle) listed as doubtful and Ladd McConkey questionable with a hip injury that he's been managing.

  • Jakobi Meyers WR | JAC

Raiders' Jakobi Meyers: Questionable after full practice

Meyers (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs after returning to a full practice Friday.

Meyers was limited Wednesday, didn't practice Thursday and then was able to log a full session to close out the week. Earlier Friday, Vic Tafur of The Athletic relayed that head coach Antonio Pierce expects Meyers to play this weekend, with the wideout's participation level supporting that notion. Look for added context regarding his Week 8 availability to arrive via national reporters such as ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport ahead of Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.
