Worthy missed over a week of practice time with a shoulder sprain, but he returned to the mix Monday. Worthy shouldn't be too far behind, as he's considered day-to-day with a shoulder sprain. That said, fantasy managers should keep an eye on the situation, given that Worthy had surgery on the same shoulder at the beginning of the offseason. The Chiefs don't seem worried, but it's still not the best sign.

Worthy is believed to avoided a serious shoulder injury that he sustained during the final session of Saturday's training camp practice, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
It looks like Worthy's removal from Saturday's practice was precautionary, seeing as the third-year wideout underwent surgery in the offseason to repair a torn labrum that stemmed from a dislocated shoulder that he suffered during Week 1 of the 2025 season. Worthy will be closely monitored over the next several days but could be cleared to return to practice before the Chiefs' first preseason game against the Rams on Saturday, Aug. 15. Kansas City also got news regarding fifth-round rookie wideout Cyrus Allen, who is considered day-to-day due to a shin bruise that he suffered during a special-teams drill.

Worthy left Saturday's training camp practice due to a shoulder injury, Jesse Newell of The Athletic reports.
It's unclear whether Worthy's injury is to the same shoulder that he underwent offseason surgery for to repair a torn labrum. He'll continue to be evaluated by medical staff to determine the severity of the injury, but with both Worthy and Cyrus Allen (lower leg) leaving Saturday's practice early, there could be more offensive snaps on the table for the likes of Tyquan Thornton, Jalen Royals, Nikko Remigio and Jason Brownlee.

Worthy (shoulder) is attending Wednesday's training camp practice without the yellow non-contact jersey he sported during spring workouts, Sam McDowell of The Kansas City Star reports.
Worthy reportedly impressed during mandatory minicamp despite still being in the final stages of his recovery from January surgery undergone to address his labrum injury, which prevented him from taking contact. The 2024 first-round pick no longer appears to have any such restrictions, joining fellow top wideout Rashee Rice, who has also been cleared for the start of training camp. Worthy produced a 42-532-1 line on 73 targets across 14 regular-season appearances in 2025, but his shoulder injury seemingly played a significant role in hampering his production. He'll work to rebound in 2026 alongside Rice and Tyquan Thornton, with Jalen Royals, Cyrus Allen and Nikko Remigio filling out the WR room.

Chiefs' Xavier Worthy: Impresses coach during minicamp
Coach Andy Reid noted Thursday that Worthy (shoulder) looked good at this week's minicamp, Jesse Newell of The Athletic reports.
While Worthy (who is in the final stages of his recovery from a shoulder procedure he underwent in January to repair his labrum) sported a no-contact jersey during the minicamp which concluded Thursday, his efforts nonetheless caught the eye of Reid. "Xavier really had a nice camp," Reid said of the 2024 first-rounder. "Stronger -- that's the part that you like. You really see it. We put him in a lot of the primary positions, and I thought he did a nice job with all of it." Next up for Worthy and the Chiefs will be training camp next month, at which point he may be able to shed his non-contact jersey. He's coming off a 2025 regular season in which he recorded a modest 42-532-1 line on 73 targets through 14 contests, but Worthy acknowledges that the shoulder injury he sustained on the first drive of the campaign hampered his effectiveness. Assuming no setbacks ahead of Week 1, Worthy could be poised for a bounce-back season in 2026 while working as a key option in Kansas City WR corps that is also in line to feature fellow returnee Rashee Rice (knee), with the likes of Tyquan Thornton, Jalen Royals and Cyrus Allen in the mix as well.

Chiefs' Xavier Worthy: Had offseason shoulder surgery
Worthy (shoulder) has been limited at OTAs this week after he underwent offseason surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder, Matt Foster of KSHB Kansas City reports.
Worthy is doing individual drills and wearing a yellow non-contact jersey at practice this week. The 23-year-old suffered a serious shoulder injury on the third offensive snap of the season in the Chiefs' Week 1 loss to the Chargers last September and missed the following two contests. He dealt with the torn labrum for the entire 2025 campaign and finished his second NFL season with a meager 42-532-1 receiving line on 73 targets across 14 regular-season appearances. With Rashee Rice dealing with legal issues and Travis Kelce set to turn 37 years old this season, the Chiefs need Worthy to stay healthy and take a significant third-year leap.
