  • Gerald Everett TE | CHI

Seahawks' Gerald Everett: Not activated for TNF

Everett wasn't activated off the reserve/COVID-19 list in advance of Thursday's game against the Rams, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

In Everett's continued absence, Will Dissly and Colby Parkinson are in line to head the Seahawks' tight-end corps. Neither of the two look like high-percentage fantasy options, however, after making a minimal impact in Seattle's Week 4 win over the 49ers.

  • Kaden Smith TE | WAS

Giants' Kaden Smith: Limited at practice

Smith (knee) was a limited participant at Thursday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

The tight end missed Wednesday's practice with a knee injury, but was able to practice in a limited fashion Thursday. He is considered questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Cowboys and Friday's injury report will provide a greater indication of his availability.

  • John Bates TE | WAS

Football Team's John Bates: Stepping into No. 2 role

Bates will operate as Washington's No. 2 tight end behind Ricky Seals-Jones while Logan Thomas (hamstring) is on injured reserve, Pete Hailey of NBC Sports Washington reports.

Bates played only four offensive snaps across the first three games of the season, but he logged 14 plays from scrimmage during Sunday's win over the Falcons with Thomas going down with the injury. Bates, a rookie fourth-round pick, has yet to be targeted in the passing game and is unlikely to have much fantasy relevance.

  • T.J. Hockenson TE | MIN

Lions' T.J. Hockenson: Limited in return to practice

Hockenson (knee) was listed as a limited participant in Thursday's practice.

Hockenson took a step forward with his activity after not practicing in any capacity Wednesday, but according to Kyle Meinke of MLive.com, the tight end wasn't doing much on the field during Thursday's session. With that in mind, Hockenson's status for Sunday's game against the Vikings could truly be in question, potentially further weakening a winless Lions squad that is already expected to be missing three starting offensive linemen (tackles Taylor Decker and Penei Sewell and center Frank Ragnow) in Week 5. The Lions will evaluate Hockenson at Friday's practice before deciding whether he'll carry an injury designation into the weekend.

  • 49ers' George Kittle: Absent for another practice

Kittle (calf) isn't participating in Thursday's practice, Chris Biderman of The Sacramento Bee reports.

For the second week in a row, Kittle's lingering calf injury has kept him off the field for consecutive practices. In Week 4, he returned to the field Friday in a limited capacity and took a questionable tag into the weekend, but he was active in the 49ers' loss to the Seahawks and played 92 percent of the team's offensive snaps while finishing with four receptions for 40 yards on 10 targets. So long as he's able to turn in another limited showing this Friday, Kittle should have a good shot at suiting up Sunday in Arizona, even if the 49ers give him a designation for the contest. If cleared to play this weekend, Kittle will likely be catching passes from rookie Trey Lance, who appears on track to make his first career start with Jimmy Garoppolo (calf) missing a second straight practice Thursday.

  • Football Team's Ricky Seals-Jones: Tabbed to replace Logan Thomas

Washington offensive coordinator Scott Turner confirmed that Seals-Jones will enter the starting lineup Sunday against the Saints after top tight end Logan Thomas (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Pete Hailey of NBC Sports Washington reports.

After Thomas exited in the first quarter of last week's win over Atlanta, Seals-Jones stepped in and handled a three-down role for Washington. Seals-Jones played 92 percent of the offensive snaps in the win, pulling in two of his four targets for 19 yards. Thomas' absence for at least the next three weeks will create an opening for Seals-Jones to take on heavy snap counts, and he could see more target volume headed his way against New Orleans if wideouts Curtis Samuel (groin), and Dyami Brown (knee) are unable to play. Meanwhile, rookie John Bates will rise to second on the depth chart at tight end while Thomas is out, but Bates isn't expected to push for a major role after logging just 18 combined offensive snaps through Washington's first four games.

  • Broncos' Albert Okwuegbunam: Not practicing Thursday

Okwuegbunam (hamstring) didn't participate in Thursday's practice, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.

Okuwegbunam suffered his hamstring injury during Wednesday's practice and was unable to take the field Thursday. His status for Sunday's game against Pittsburgh is in question, while Eric Saubert and Andrew Beck will likely see increased roles if the 23-year-old is ruled out.

  • Broncos' Albert Okwuegbunam: Nursing hamstring injury

Okwuegbunam was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice due to a hamstring injury, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.

Okwuegbunam apparently picked up the injury during the Broncos' loss to the Ravens on Sunday, when he caught one of two targets for 11 yards on 15 offensive snaps. The 2020 fourth-round pick should be able to avoid an injury designation for Week 5 if he can progress to full practice participation within the next couple days.

  • Cardinals' Darrell Daniels: Tests positive for COVID-19

Daniels was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday after testing positive for the virus, Howard Balzer of SI.com reports.

Daniels will now be unavailable until he clears the health and safety protocols, which will require two negative COVID-19 tests administered 24 hours apart while not exhibiting any symptoms. Demetrius Harris should see more playing time behind starting tight end Maxx Williams while Daniels is sidelined.

  • Johnny Mundt TE | PHI

Rams' Johnny Mundt: Avoids injury designation

Mundt (shoulder) doesn't have an injury designation for Thursday's game against the Seahawks.

Mundt came out of Sunday's loss to the Cardinals with a shoulder injury, but he was able to put in a full practice Wednesday and avoid the questionable tag. The 26-year-old primarily works as a blocker and has one catch for nine yards through the first four games of 2021.
