  • Greg Dulcich TE | MIA

Broncos' Greg Dulcich: Out with hamstring injury

Dulchich (hamstring) isn't in uniform for Saturday's preseason game against Buffalo, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.

While the rookie remains sidelined by an injury, it seems Albert Okwuegbunam still has something to prove, as the third-year tight end is in uniform while key guys like Courtland Sutton, Javonte Williams and Jerry Jeudy are being held out.

  • Brycen Hopkins TE | LAR

Rams' Brycen Hopkins: Leads team in receptions

Hopkins caught all six of his targets for 41 yards in Friday's 24-20 loss to the Texans.

Hopkins operated as a safety valve for quarterback John Wolford during a first half that saw Wolford under constant pressure, and he came through with a perfect six-for-six catch rate. The second half saw Bryce Perkins target Hopkins only once on a play that was called back due to a penalty, but Hopkins easily outpaced fellow tight ends Kendall Blanton and Roger Carter, who combined for two catches and 28 receiving yards in the loss. With one preseason game against the Bengals next Saturday remaining, Hopkins may have leapt Blanton and become the favorite to be the backup to starter Tyler Higbee with Friday's performance.

  • T.J. Hockenson TE | MIN

Lions' T.J. Hockenson: Likely not playing Saturday

Hockenson is not expected to play in Saturday's preseason contest against the Colts, Justin Rogers of The Detroit News reports.

This shouldn't come as a surprise considering coach Dan Campbell hinted Jared Goff, among other Lions veterans, would not suit up for the contest. Hockenson also didn't play in the preseason opener last week, so it's possible the multi-year starter could see action in the exhibition finale next Sunday.

  • Mason Schreck TE | HOU

Texans' Mason Schreck: Scores game-winning TD

Schreck caught both of his targets for 13 yards, notching an 8-yard touchdown in Friday's preseason win over the Rams.

Schreck snagged a throw along the back edge of the end zone for Houston's game-winning score with just over a minute left in the game. That Schreck was on the field in the final minutes is an indication he's not in line for the team's final roster. Houston has three incumbents at tight end and drafted a fourth in the fifth round of the 2022 draft, so Schreck will need factors beyond his control to move up the depth chart.

  • Texans' Teagan Quitoriano: Scores in preseason win

Quitoriano caught his lone target for a six-yard touchdown in Friday's preseason win over the Rams.

Quitoriano made his professional debut Friday after being held out of last week's preseason opener. With injuries to tight ends Pharaoh Brown (hamstring) and Antony Auclair (knee), Quitoriano was able to make a case for a spot on the final roster. The fifth-round draft pick is currently listed fourth on the depth chart. Houston is expected to be run-heavy and may keep four tight ends, but a decision may come down to whether Houston wants a fourth tight end or a fullback, such as Andy Janovich.

  • Brevin Jordan TE | HOU

Texans' Brevin Jordan: Pair of grabs in preseason win

Jordan secured both targets for seven yards in the Texans' 24-20 preseason win over the Rams on Friday night.

The 2021 fifth-round pick doubled up his catch total and matched his yardage tally from Saturday's preseason opener against the Saints. Jordan displayed some solid upside as a rookie on an inconsistent offense with a 20-178-3 line through nine games, and he's slated to open the 2022 season as the top tight end.

  • Taysom Hill QB | NO

Saints' Taysom Hill: Tallies first preseason catch

Hill recorded one reception on two targets for 10 yards in Friday's 20-10 preseason loss to the Packers.

Hill managed to make his preseason debut Friday after dealing with a series of injuries this offseason, starting with surgery to repair a Lisfranc issue. He subsequently bruised his ribs at the start of training camp and was sidelined for several days. He didn't make a significant impact on the game Friday, but he was on the field with the offensive unit that began the game and should compete for reps with Adam Trautman to begin the season.

  • Johnny Mundt TE | PHI

Vikings' Johnny Mundt: Feels great after opener

Mundt felt great after the Vikings' preseason opener and did not suffer any setbacks, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Mundt is in line to compete with the likes of Ben Ellefson, Zach Davidson, Nick Muse and Shaun Beyer for the team's No. 2 tight end role behind Irv Smith. As of now, he appears to have completely moved on from the torn ACL he suffered last October.

  • Ian Thomas TE | LV

Panthers' Ian Thomas: Not expected to play Friday

Thomas (ribs) isn't in line to play in Friday's preseason contest at New England, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.

Thomas got banged up in practice on Wednesday, Aug. 10 and has been sidelined with a rib injury in the meantime. He's among three tight ends that won't suit up Friday -- also, Colin Thompson (calf) and Josh Babicz (undisclosed) -- making Tommy Tremble, Stephen Sullivan and Jared Scott the Panthers available at the position.

  • Hunter Henry TE | NE

Patriots' Hunter Henry: Not spotted in warmups

Henry, who missed practice earlier this week with an undisclosed injury, wasn't present for warmups in advance of Friday's preseason contest against the Panthers, Zack Cox of NESN.com reports.

It appears as though Henry is in line to sit out the contest, with the Patriots having signed Jalen Wydermyer to provide the team with added tight end depth ahead of Friday's contest.
