  • Eagles' Grant Calcaterra: Will sit again

Calcaterra (coach's decision) is inactive Monday against the Vikings.

Calcaterra will sit again in Week 2 despite making the 53-man roster. The Eagles have opted to bring Noah Togiai up from the practice squad for the second straight week to dress as the No. 3 tight end, leaving Calcaterra sidelined. The rookie tight end will continue to try and earn the chance to make his NFL debut in Week 3, when the Eagles play the Commanders.

  • Tyler Kroft TE | MIA

49ers' Tyler Kroft: Suffers MCL sprain

Coach Kyle Shanahan noted Monday that Kroft will miss a few weeks with an MCL sprain, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Kroft's injury is a hit to the 49ers' depth at tight end, but it appears as though starter George Kittle (groin) is trending toward a return to action Week 3. Also in the mix for complementary TE snaps once Kittle is back are Charlie Woerner and Ross Dwelley.

  • 49ers' George Kittle: Was close to playing Week 2

Coach Kyle Shanahan said Kittle (groin) was close to being available for the 49ers' Week 2 matchup with the Seahawks, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

After Kittle logged a limited practice last Friday, Shanahan said the tight end looked "awesome," and he eventually entered the weekend as questionable. In the end, Kittle was held out with the anticipation he'd be even healthier for Week 3 action. His activity level will be one to watch when the 49ers step on the field Wednesday and begin to gear up for Sunday night's contest at Denver.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Hauls in first career TD

Bellinger caught his lone target for a 16-yard touchdown Sunday in a 19-16 win versus the Panthers.

Bellinger logged the most snaps (42) among Giants tight ends in the victory, though Tanner Hudson led the group with three targets, two catches and 22 yards. Bellinger made the biggest impact, however, hauling in a Daniel Jones dumpoff in the third quarter and taking it 16 yards to pay dirt. Despite the score, Bellinger isn't a particularly appealing option in fantasy given that he has just one target over his first two contests.

  • Kenny Yeboah TE | ARI

Kenny Yeboah: Returns to practice squad

Yeboah reverted to the Jets' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.

Yeboah earned the opportunity to suit up in Sunday's win over the Browns with C.J. Uzomah (hamstring) inactive. Although he only saw two snaps on offense, he did contribute regularly on special teams, earning an assisted tackle while on punt coverage. Depending on Uzomah's status for Week 3, Yeboah could earn another opportunity Sunday against the Bengals.

  • Noah Togiai TE | PHI

Eagles' Noah Togiai: Bumped up from practice squad

The Eagles elevated Togiai to the team's active roster ahead of Monday night's game against the Vikings.

Togiai will suit up on gameday for the second consecutive week after he saw one target over his nine offensive snaps in Philadelphia's season opener against Detroit. However, the 23-year-old should once again provide tight end depth behind Dallas Goedert and Jack Stoll.

  • Browns' Harrison Bryant: Nursing pair of injuries

Bryant is listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated practice report with thumb and thigh injuries, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Bryant apparently is banged up in the aftermath of the Browns' 31-30 loss to the Jets on Sunday, when he turned his four targets into three receptions for 45 yards across 31 snaps on offense. Though starter David Njoku has handily out-snapped him this season, Bryant holds the edge in targets (8-6) through Cleveland's first two games.

  • C.J. Uzomah TE | PHI

Jets' C.J. Uzomah: Iffy for Week 3

Jets head coach Robert Saleh suggested that Uzomah (hamstring) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's contest against the Bengals, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

The Jets probably won't have a good sense of what direction Uzomah is trending in for the game until evaluating him in practices Wednesday through Friday, but Saleh appears to be proceeding with the belief that the tight end will take an injury designation into the weekend. Uzomah had been listed as doubtful prior to the Jets' eventual Week 2 win over the Browns before landing on the inactive list. With Uzomah out of the picture, Tyler Conklin served as the Jets' clear top tight end, playing every snap on offense and finishing with six receptions for 40 yards on nine targets.

  • Dalton Schultz TE | HOU

Cowboys' Dalton Schultz: Tending to PCL injury

Schultz was diagnosed with a PCL injury in his right knee after exiting Sunday's win over the Bengals, and his availability for the Cowboys' Week 3 matchup with the Giants is uncertain, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

Schultz at least will have the benefit of an additional day of rest with the Cowboys not playing the Giants until next Monday, but that may provide enough time for the tight end to fully move past the injury. Before he exited the victory over the Bengals, Schultz turned his four targets from quarterback Cooper Rush into two receptions for 18 yards. Rookie Jake Ferguson, who went without a target while playing 58 percent of the Cowboys' offensive snaps Week 2, is the next man up at tight end if Schultz is forced to miss time.

  • Jesse James TE | LV

Browns' Jesse James: Won't face former team Week 3

James won't play Thursday against the Steelers due to a biceps injury, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.

James has played just 18 offensive snaps through two games with the Browns, so his absence is unlikely to have a significant effect on Cleveland's game plan. Nonetheless, the reserve tight end will be disappointed to miss this showdown against the team with which he spent his first four NFL seasons.
