  • Nick Chubb RB | HOU

Browns' Nick Chubb: Slated to practice Wednesday

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday that he expects Chubb (reserve/PUP list, knee) to have his 21-day practice window opened Wednesday and to be on the field in some capacity, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Chubb currently remains on the reserve/PUP list due to a severe left knee injury sustained Week 2 of last season, so it will be highly encouraging to see him ready to resume practicing at his earliest possible eligible date. Once he's officially designated to return, Cleveland will have 21 days to evaluate Chubb at practice, throughout which span he'll be eligible to return to the active roster at any time. That makes Sunday's road game against the Commanders the earliest tentative date Chubb could be eligible to return to game action, though it seems more likely that the veteran running back will be brought along cautiously. Jerome Ford will continue to lead Cleveland's backfield until Chubb is fully cleared, with D'Onta Foreman available behind him on the depth chart.

  • Bijan Robinson RB | ATL

Falcons' Bijan Robinson: Managing hamstring injury

Robinson (hamstring) is listed as limited on Monday's estimated practice report, Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com reports.

Robinson played a season-low 61 percent of offensive snaps during Atlanta's 26-24 win over New Orleans in Week 4, handling just seven carries for 28 yards compared to Tyler Allgeier's eight rushes for 60 yards. It appears that a hamstring issue may have been responsible for Robinson's uncharacteristically low workload, though he did still secure all four of his targets for 46 yards versus the Saints. The Falcons have a short week to prepare for another tough divisional matchup against the Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football, so the team may opt to cap Robinson's reps in practice with the aim to keep him fresh.

  • Blake Corum RB | LAR

Rams' Blake Corum: Used exclusively on special teams

Corum didn't play a snap on offense and logged 16 snaps on special teams during Sunday's 24-18 loss to Chicago.

Kyren Williams saw his lowest usage of the season, ceding a total of 13 snaps to backup Ronnie Rivers. Despite this, Corum got no usage on offense for the third time in four games, with his only touches on the season coming in the waning moments of a blowout loss to the Cardinals. Head coach Sean McVay is still clearly content with Williams handling the majority of the workload at running back, with Rivers working as his backup, and Corum's role doesn't seem to be expanding barring injury heading into a Week 5 showdown with Green Bay.

  • Ronnie Rivers RB | LAR

Rams' Ronnie Rivers: Season-high usage in loss

Rivers rushed six times for 26 yards during Sunday's 24-18 loss against Chicago.

The third-year back saw his usage creep up for the second consecutive week, taking the field for 13 of the Rams' 61 snaps on offense. For the third time in four weeks, rookie Blake Corum was used exclusively on special teams, leaving Rivers as the clear No. 2 behind Kyren Williams. Even with the slight uptick in usage, the Rams backfield still runs through Williams (19-94-1 on Sunday) heading into a Week 5 matchup against the Packers.

  • Joe Mixon RB | HOU

    Texans' Joe Mixon: Labeled day-to-day

Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said Monday that Mixon (ankle) is "day-to-day," Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Ryans said the same of wideout Tank Dell (chest), who, along with Mixon, sat out Houston's 24-20 win over the Jaguars in Week 4. Ryans said, "We'll see this week with a week of practice," whether Mixon and Dell are able to return for Sunday's pivotal matchup against the Bills. With both Mixon and Dameon Pierce (hamstring) having missed the Texans' last two games, Cam Akers was given another chance to start versus Jacksonville, racking up 53 yards on 13 carries. Wednesday's first official injury report of Week 5 stands to reveal more about the chances of Mixon and/or Pierce getting back on the field versus Buffalo.

  • Raiders' Alexander Mattison: Role slated to increase

Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce said Monday that Mattison's recent quality of play has earned him more work and that he's "going to get it," Adam Hill of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

Mattison handled only five carries during Las Vegas' 20-16 win over the Browns in Week 4, but he compiled 60 yards on the ground. Meanwhile, starter Zamir White rushed 17 times for 50 yards and lost a fumble, which was recovered by Cleveland's defense and returned for a score in the fourth quarter. Through the first four games of the regular season, Mattison is averaging 5.1 yards per carry and has scored a total of three times, while White is averaging just 3.1 yards per rush and has yet to score. It won't be surprising if Mattison forces a more even split of touches on the road against Denver on Sunday.

  • Panthers' Jonathon Brooks: Practice window won't open yet

Panthers head coach Dave Canales said Monday that the team won't designate Brooks (knee) to return to practice this week, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.

Brooks started the regular season on the reserve/non-football injury list, which makes Week 5 his earliest possible return date, but Carolina hasn't cleared the rookie second-round pick to resume practicing. Per Sheena Quick of Fox Sports Radio 1340, Canales said Brooks is in the "final stages" of his recovery from a right ACL tear sustained in his final collegiate season at Texas that prevented him from taking part in the Panthers' offseason program. Once he's designated to return, a 21-day practice window will open for Brooks, and with Chuba Hubbard and Miles Sanders both currently running well, the Panthers have little need to hurry the rookie along.

  • Tyler Badie RB | DEN

Broncos' Tyler Badie: Candidate for injured reserve

Badie (back) has full movement of his arms and legs and is back at team facilities after leaving Sunday's 10-9 win over the Jets on a stretcher, but he may be placed on IR, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Badie suffered a back injury Sunday during a tackle by Quincy Williams, which forced a fumble. The running back was able to join his teammates on the sideline, but Badie then had to be taken off the field on a stretcher. The Broncos haven't offered a timeline for his recovery, but if Badie ends up being placed on IR he'll be required to miss at least four games.

  • Gus Edwards RB | LAC

Chargers' Gus Edwards: Season low in snaps

Edwards carried the ball six times for 19 yards in Sunday's 17-10 loss to the Chiefs.

The burly running back played a season-low 25 percent of the snaps, which is an alarming number considering the game script was relatively favorable for Los Angeles' run-heavy approach. J.K. Dobbins didn't do a whole lot with the extra carries (14 for 32 yards), but Dobbins has proven to be a significantly more reliable target out of the backfield, which has limited Edwards' fantasy viability.

  • Emanuel Wilson RB | SEA

Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Contained by Vikings

Wilson had eight carries for 27 yards in Sunday's 31-29 loss to the Vikings.

Wilson racked up 14 touches, 85 yards from scrimmage and a score in Week 3, but he did not come close to matching those numbers Sunday with the Packers spending the bulk of the game in catch-up mode after going down 28-0 in the first half. Wilson did, however, play an expanded role for the second week in a row, and across Green Bay's last two contests he totaled 22 touches compared to 28 for starting running back Josh Jacobs. That could be enough for fantasy players to justify using a roster spot on Wilson, but Jacobs remains the primary option in the backfield for the Packers.
