Breaking Down the Biggest Questions In the AFC North

Player Outlook
Wilson profiled as an intriguing sleeper earlier this offseason when he signed in Seattle after GM John Schneider hinted at a major role in the 2026 offense. However, that buzz has come to a screeching halt following Seattle's decision to use its first-round draft pick on running back Jadarian Price. Wilson figures to be a change of pace to Price, and he may have a larger role early in the Fantasy season as Price acclimates to the speed of the NFL. This means Wilson could be a flex in the pinch at the start of the Fantasy season, but his long-term value lacks both a floor and a ceiling, with Zach Charbonnet eventually returning from an ACL and Price's role set to expand on a week-by-week basis.

Fantasy News

  • Seahawks' Emanuel Wilson: Mostly working with third-stringers

Wilson has been getting most of his reps with the third-string offense at OTAs, according to Gregg Bell of The News Tribune. Wilson did a solid job filling in for an injured Josh Jacobs in Green Bay last season, so it's no surprise there was fantasy interest after Wilson signed with the RB-needy Seahawks in March on a reported one-year, $2.1 million contract. His fantasy stock has since taken a hit, in large part because the Seahawks drafted RB Jadarian Price at No. 32 overall in April. It also doesn't help that Wilson's contract is closer to $1.6 million in base value, not $2.1 million, and with only $300,000 guaranteed at signing. He may still be part of the plan to help replace Kenneth Walker (Chiefs) and Zach Charbonnet (torn ACL), but early reports out of Seattle have George Holani getting most of the first-team reps while Price mixes in some. Wilson seems to be exclusively working with the backups, at least during the media-access portions of practice.

  • Seahawks' Emanuel Wilson: First-round RB added by Seattle

Wilson will face increased competition for touches after the Seahawks drafted Jadarian Price 32nd overall Thursday, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports. All three of Wilson, Price and George Holani could play sizable roles early in the season while Zach Charbonnet works his way back from a torn ACL. The Seahawks signed Wilson and drafted Price after losing running back Kenneth Walker in free agency. Price is untested in a workhorse role, having backed up Jeremiyah Love at Notre Dame, so Seattle's likely to spread out the backfield workload between multiple options despite investing significant draft capital into Price.

  • Seahawks' Emanuel Wilson: Joining Seattle's backfield

The Seahawks are slated to sign Wilson to a one-year deal worth up to $2.1 million, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. While working as Josh Jacobs' top backup with Green Bay in 2025, Wilson recorded 496 yards and three TDs on 125 carries, along with 99 yards on 15 catches in 17 regular-season games. With Kenneth Walker departing via free agency and Zach Charbonnet having suffered a torn ACL in January, Wilson could potentially earn a key early-season role in a Seattle backfield that also includes George Holani and Kenny McIntosh, though it's possible that the team adds further RB depth in the coming weeks and months.

  • Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Won't be tendered

The Packers aren't planning on tendering Wilson, so he will become a free agent, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. Wilson served as Josh Jacobs' backup at running back last season and tallied 496 yards and three touchdowns on 125 carries, adding 99 receiving yards on 15 catches over 17 regular-season games. He also worked part-time as a kick returner and logged 233 yards on nine kickoff returns. Wilson just finished his third campaign with Green Bay and entered the offseason as a restricted free agent, but the Packers' decision not to tender him means he'll be free to sign with any team.

  • Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Serves as Jacobs' backup in 2025

Wilson turned 125 carries into 496 yards and three touchdowns while adding 15 catches (on 17 targets) for 99 yards over 17 regular-season games (two starts) for the Packers in 2025. He also returned nine kickoffs for 233 yards. For a second consecutive season, Wilson served as the Packers' No. 2 option behind Josh Jacobs. The former managed to draw two starts, the first of which took place in Week 12 against the Vikings, when he broke out for 107 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries while hauling in both of his targets for 18 yards. Wilson saw double-digit carries in four regular-season games but only one carry (for three yards) during Green Bay's 31-27 NFC wild-card loss to Chicago on Saturday while playing 13 of 71 offensive snaps (18.3 percent). The Packers have the option to tender Wilson during the offseason, which would make the soon-to-be 26-year-old running back a restricted free agent.

  • Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Week 18 Waiver Priority List

It would be a surprise if Josh Jacobs played in Week 18 at Minnesota since the Packers are locked into the No. 7 seed in the NFC. That should give Wilson the chance to be the lead running back in Green Bay, and we already saw him in this matchup with the Vikings in Week 12 when Jacobs was out due to injury. Wilson had 28 carries for 107 yards and two touchdowns and two catches for 18 yards on two targets. I wouldn't expect that level of production again, especially since the Packers will likely be cautious with several starters, but Wilson is worth using as at least a flex option in all leagues if he starts in Week 18.

  • Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Four touches in Week 17

Wilson rushed three times for 16 yards and caught his only target for eight yards in Saturday's 41-24 loss to the Ravens. Wilson, along with the rest of the Packers' running backs, was limited to minimal production in Week 17. Starter Josh Jacobs churned out three yards on four carries and caught one pass for no gain in the game while battling through a calf issue. With Green Bay locked in as the No. 7 seed in the NFC playoffs, it's possible that Jacobs is rested and Wilson earns the nod as the team's lead back in Week 18 versus the Vikings.

  • Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Week 17 Waiver Priority List

Josh Jacobs (knee) is playing hurt, and he missed every practice leading up to Week 16 against Chicago. Jacobs struggled against the Bears with 48 total yards and a fumble, but Wilson looked great with 14 carries for 82 yards. We'll see what happens in Week 17 against Baltimore, but Wilson would be a No. 2 Fantasy running back in all leagues if he started in place of Jacobs. It's a good idea to stash Wilson on your bench where he's still available.

  • Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Highly efficient in OT loss

Wilson rushed 14 times for 82 yards and recovered a fumble in the Packers' 22-16 overtime loss to the Bears on Saturday night. Wilson was effective throughout the night, and after Josh Jacobs lost a fumble at the Bears' three-yard line in the third quarter, the former handled the rest of Green Bay's non-quarterback rushing opportunities. Wilson's rushing yardage total was his second highest of the season, and he may have earned himself a bigger workload in next Saturday night's home showdown against the Ravens even if Jacobs is healthy enough to play through his knee and ankle injuries.

  • Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Sleeper RBs

Josh Jacobs (knee) missed practice all week and is questionable for Saturday's game at Chicago. If he's out then Wilson is worth using as a No. 2 Fantasy running back in all leagues. Wilson started one game for Jacobs in Week 12 against Minnesota, and Wilson had 28 carries for 107 yards and two touchdowns and two catches for 18 yards on two targets. Jacobs had 17.2 PPR points against the Bears in Week 14, and four running backs have scored at least 11.1 PPR points against Chicago in the past five weeks. This could be a great week for Wilson if Jacobs is out.

  • Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Two carries in Week 15 loss

Wilson (illness) rushed twice for three yards and wasn't targeted in Sunday's 34-26 loss to the Broncos. He also returned four kickoffs for 95 yards. Wilson played through a questionable tag but so did starter Josh Jacobs (knee), who had 92 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns on 14 touches to lead Green Bay's backfield as usual. Chris Brooks had two carries for 10 yards and caught one of two targets for six yards as both backups played sparingly. Wilson's role is unlikely to grow as long as Jacobs is available Saturday against the Bears.

  • Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Suiting up Sunday despite illness

Wilson (illness) is active for Sunday's contest at Denver, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports. Wilson was tacked on to the Packers' Week 15 injury report Saturday due to an illness and deemed questionable for Sunday. Adam Schefter of ESPN later reported that Wilson showed up to team facilities earlier Saturday under the weather and was sent home with medication with the aim he'd feel well enough to play this weekend. Wilson at least will be available to Green Bay's offense, but he may only be available in an emergency capacity behind Josh Jacobs (knee), while Chris Brooks also is on hand for snaps.

  • Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Likely to be game-time call Sunday

Wilson (illness), who is questionable for Sunday's Week 15 matchup against Denver, will see how he feels in the morning before a determination is made about his availability, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Per Schefter, Wilson showed up at Green Bay's training facility with a virus Saturday and was sent home with medication. While the team hopes the running back has recovered enough to play Sunday, it sounds like that decision won't be made until he checks in with the Packers early Sunday. Starting RB Josh Jacobs (knee) is expected to suit up against Denver, according to Schefter, but if Wilson sits out, more carries could be available for Chris Brooks and practice-squad elevation Pierre Strong.

  • Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Workload remains limited

Wilson had three carries for 10 yards in Sunday's 28-21 victory over the Bears. He also returned two kickoffs for 55 yards. It was not long ago that Wilson racked up 12 touches against the Giants and a whopping 30 touches against the Vikings with starting running back Josh Jacobs exiting the first contest due to injury and sitting out the second one altogether, but Jacobs handled the bulk of the backfield work in his Week 13 return, and he did the same Sunday. With Jacobs healthy and the Packers potentially playing must-win games the rest of the way, it's looking like Jacobs will be the bell cow while Wilson spells the starter as needed.

  • Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Just four totes in Week 13

Wilson carried the ball four times for 14 yards in Thursday's 31-24 win over the Lions. With Josh Jacobs back in action after a one-game absence, Wilson returned to a depth role. The third-year back proved himself in Week 12 with 125 scrimmage yards and two rushing TDs as the starter, but as long as Jacobs is healthy, Wilson's workload will be unpredictable at best -- over the four games prior to his spot start, he saw anywhere from two to 14 touches.
... See More ... See Less
  • Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Slated for leading role with Jacobs out

Wilson is slated to lead the Packers backfield Sunday versus the Vikings with Josh Jacobs (knee) inactive, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports. The decision on Jacobs came down to a pregame warmup, which he didn't pass. Wilson thus will be the top running back for Green Bay in Week 12. In the three contests in which he earned double-digit touches this season, he averaged 12.3 touches for 72.3 yards from scrimmage per game while scoring one rushing TD. Chris Brooks and practice-squad elevation Pierre Strong are on hand for the snaps that don't go to Wilson.

  • Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

Josh Jacobs (knee) didn't practice Wednesday, and Matt LaFleur called Jacobs "day-to-day" after he was injured in Week 11 at the Giants. If Jacobs can't play in Week 12 against Minnesota, then Wilson would be considered a No. 2 Fantasy running back in the majority of leagues. Wilson finished the Giants game with 11 carries for 40 yards and a touchdown, and one catch for 9 yards on one target. He has three games this season with at least 11 total touches in a reserve role behind Jacobs, and Wilson scored at least 11.1 PPR points in each outing. This isn't an easy matchup against the Vikings, who are No. 10 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs. But six guys have scored at least 13 PPR points against Minnesota this season, and I'll take my chances with Wilson as a starter in most leagues if Jacobs is out.

  • Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Week 12 Adds (RB Preview)

It is no fun to blow your FAB budget on a back who may not start this week. But you may need to take that risk in Week 12. As of Tuesday, we are not expecting Josh Jacobs to play this week, which would make Emanuel Wilson a must-start running back. Wilson has had double-digit touches in two games this year and has scored 11 Fantasy points in both. In Week 12, he could see 15-20 touches against the Vikings. Minnesota's defense doesn't provide an easy matchup, but it's not one to avoid either. Maybe more importantly, their offense has been so meek that you should expect the Packers to be run-heavy against them.

  • Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Week 12 Waiver Priority List

The NFL Network reported Monday that Josh Jacobs (knee) is considered day-to-day after he was injured in Week 11 at the Giants, but he could still miss Week 12 against Minnesota. If Jacobs is out then Wilson would be considered a No. 2 running back in the majority of leagues, and he's worth adding for at least 10-15 percent of your remaining FAB. Wilson replaced Jacobs against the Giants and had 11 carries for 40 yards and a touchdown and one catch for 9 yards on one target. Wilson has three games this season with at least 11 total touches in a reserve role behind Jacobs, and Wilson scored at least 11.1 PPR points in each outing. There's huge upside for Wilson is Jacobs is out.

  • Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Handles lead role after Jacobs exit

Wilson rushed 11 times for 40 yards and brought in his only target for nine yards in the Packers' 27-20 win over the Giants on Sunday. He also caught a two-point conversion pass. Wilson helmed the ground attack following the first-half exit of Josh Jacobs due to a knee injury, and the former did a serviceable job with his opportunities. Wilson also caught a critical two-point conversion pass with 4:20 remaining that gave the Packers a seven-point lead that ultimately held up, and he'll be in line to handle the lead role again in a Week 12 home divisional clash against the Vikings next Sunday if Jacobs is sidelined.
