  • 49ers' Patrick Taylor: Will get surgery on shoulder

Taylor will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a fracture in his shoulder, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Taylor suffered the injury during the 49ers' preseason game against the Raiders. He was already slated to miss the entire 2025 season after being placed on injured reserve, and the 27-year-old running back will aim to return for the 2026 campaign once he's fully recovered from the procedure.

  • 49ers' Isaac Guerendo: Returns to practice

Guerendo (shoulder) participated in Tuesday's training camp practice, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Guerendo suffered a shoulder injury in practice in early August, which caused him to miss the 49ers' first two preseason games. He was back on the field Tuesday and was given the green light to participate in team drills, and Wagoner relays that Guerendo was heavily involved with the offense and on special teams as a kick returner. Barring any setbacks, the 2024 fourth-rounder is on track to be available for Saturday's preseason finale against the Chargers.

  • 49ers' Patrick Taylor: Placed on IR

The 49ers placed Taylor (shoulder) on injured reserve Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Taylor suffered a dislocated shoulder in last Saturday's preseason game against the Raiders, and he'll now miss the 2025 season unless San Francisco cuts Taylor with an injury settlement at a later date.

  • Jarveon Howard RB | BUF

Bills' Jarveon Howard: Injured in first practice

Howard exited Tuesday's practice with an undisclosed injury and did not return, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.

Howard signed with Buffalo on Tuesday morning and was injured by the afternoon. It's unclear if he's going to be able to play in Saturday's preseason finale against the Bucs, but Howard has next to no shot of making the Bills' 53-man roster.

  • Patriots' Micah Bernard: Signs with New England

Bernard signed with the Patriots on Tuesday, Mike Kadlick of CLNSMedia.com reports.

Bernard doesn't stand much of a chance to make the Patriots' 53-man roster at this stage of the summer, and he's likely being signed just to serve as depth for the Patriots' preseason finale Thursday against the Giants.

  • Bills' Darrynton Evans: Placed on IR

The Bills placed Evans (hamstring) on injured reserve Tuesday.

Evans was injured during practice last week and didn't play in the second preseason contest. He'll now be forced to sit out the entirety of the 2025 season unless he's later released with an injury settlement.

  • Jarveon Howard RB | BUF

Bills' Jarveon Howard: Signs with Buffalo

The Bills signed Howard on Tuesday.

Howard signed with the Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2024 but has yet to appear in a regular-season NFL game. He's likely just depth for the final preseason contest.

  • Kendall Milton RB | CIN

    Bengals' Kendall Milton: Past injury

Milton (undisclosed) rushed nine times for 22 yards in Monday's preseason game versus Washington.

Milton missed some practice time last week, but he's clearly past the issue and logged 15 offensive snaps against the Commanders. He's trying to win a job behind Chase Brown, Samaje Perine and Tahj Brooks in the Cincinnati backfield.

  • Tyler Goodson RB | ATL

Colts' Tyler Goodson: Avoids major injury

Goodson (elbow) doesn't have a major injury, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.

Goodson was the third back through the rotation in Saturday's preseason game against Green Bay, taking the field after Jonathan Taylor and fifth-round rookie DJ Giddens, but then left early with an elbow injury. It apparently isn't serious, giving Goodson a shot to be ready for Week 1 and keep a spot on the roster. Khalil Herbert (undisclosed) has also been out recently, leaving the Colts with nothing but undrafted rookies in the backfield behind Taylor and Giddens. Taylor should get the vast majority of snaps come Week 1, with Giddens and Goodson subbing in occasionally.

  • Cam Skattebo RB | NYG

Giants' Cam Skattebo: Taking part in team drills

Skattebo (hamstring) is participating in team drills Tuesday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Skattebo already appears to be a full participant in his return to practice, a welcome payoff after the Giants took a cautious approach to his recovery from a hamstring strain and kept him sidelined for the first two preseason games. The rookie fourth-rounder's final chance to log exhibition reps will come Thursday versus New England, and putting together a strong performance would significantly aid Skattebo's chances of pushing veteran incumbent Devin Singletary for backfield reps behind presumed Week 1 starter Tyrone Tracy.
