  • Raiders' Latavius Murray: Scores for second straight week despite muddled backfield

Murray rushed eight times for 57 yards and a touchdown, while securing all six of his targets for 44 more yards Sunday against the Falcons.

Murray had a second straight strong outing, but would've been even more productive had Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington not combined for 13 carries of their own in this one. He has found pay dirt in consecutive weeks, but getting to three in a row won't be easy against a stout Titans front that hasn't given up more than 38 rushing yards to any individual through two weeks. With two other viable options in the Raiders backfield, getting enough volume to maintain his value will be tough for Murray going forward.

  • C.J. Anderson RB | LAR

Broncos' C.J. Anderson: Totals 93 yards, scores against Indianapolis

Anderson rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries and added 19 yards on three catches in Sunday's win over the Colts.

The Broncos' offense still runs through Anderson as he received over 20 touches for the second straight game, a mark that eluded him all of last season. The red zone remains his domain and he continues to show strides in the receiving game, making a tough catch on third and long, juking the defender and picking up a first down in Sunday's game. Though Anderson's touch total went down by just one in comparison to last week, 24 to 23, it will be worth monitoring the progress of rookie Devontae Booker whose touches went up from three to 10. Kapri Bibbs, too, saw some action on Sunday.

  • Ameer Abdullah RB | JAC

Lions' Ameer Abdullah: Wears walking boot Sunday

Abdullah (foot) was seen in a walking boot after Sunday's loss to the Titans, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Considering a walking boot encases everything below the knee, Abdullah's injury could be more extensive than a mere foot injury, which was the designation mentioned by the Lions for his absence. For now, though, his foot injury places a cloud over his Week 3 availability. An absence would place more of the backfield burden on Theo Riddick and rookie Dwayne Washington.

  • Doug Martin RB | LV

Buccaneers' Doug Martin: Tending to 'slight tweak' of hamstring

Martin said after Sunday's loss in Arizona that he's tending to a "slight tweak" of his hamstring, Roy Cummings of WFLA News Channel 8 reports.

With an initial prognosis of doubtful (then no potential) to return, Martin is seemingly dealing with a more severe injury than his contention, but time will tell whether any DNPs come to pass. If he ultimately trends toward inactive status next Sunday against the Rams, Charles Sims would be next in line for touches.

  • Thomas Rawls RB | JAC

Seahawks' Thomas Rawls: Suffers leg contusion Sunday

Rawls was removed from Sunday's eventual loss at Los Angeles due to a leg contusion, Liz Mathews of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

Rawls was ineffective for nearly two quarters before he was kicked in the lower leg, notching seven carries for minus-seven yards and three catches (on as many targets) for 15 yards. With an unknown prognosis, Christine Michael could be in line for another round as the Seahawks' No. 1 running back.

  • Shane Vereen RB | NO

Giants' Shane Vereen: Leads the team in rushing

Vereen had 14 carries for 42 yards and three catches for 24 yards Sunday against the Saints. He also lost a fumble.

Vereen, who had only 61 carries in 16 games all last year, took on extra work after teammate Rashad Jennings left with an arm injury. It's unclear whether Vereen will get more work on the ground going forward, but there's some PPR upside if he sees more regular carries to go along with his usual pass-catching workload.

  • Melvin Gordon RB | BAL

Chargers' Melvin Gordon: Tops 100-yard mark for first time

Gordon rushed 24 times for 102 yards and a touchdown while securing all three of his targets for 18 more in Sunday's 38-14 win over Jacksonville.

Gordon topped the 100-yard rushing mark for the first time as a pro thanks in large part to significant volume. The Chargers are unlikely to build a 35-0 lead through three quarters often, but at least he was the team's workhorse of choice after Danny Woodhead was carted off due to a knee injury. He showed some receiving chops with 33 catches in 14 games as a rookie, so his contributions through the air shouldn't come as a surprise. If Woodhead's injury proves to be serious, Gordon could see a near monopoly in San Diego's backfield moving forward.

  • Seahawks' Christine Michael: Tallies 60 yards rushing against Rams on Sunday

Michael carried 10 times for 60 yards and added three receptions for 26 yards in Sunday's loss to the Rams.

Michael got extra work after Thomas Rawls suffered a lower leg injury, but he didn't make much of an impact. In fact, his biggest impact was fumbling with less than a minute to play, dashing Seattle's comeback attempt. Rawls' injury is not considered serious.

  • Kenyan Drake RB | GB

Dolphins' Kenyan Drake: Contributes 18 yards, TD in Week 2 loss

Drake totaled 12 yards and a touchdown on two carries and hauled in both of his targets for six yards in Sunday's 31-24 loss to the Patriots.

The third-round rookie from Alabama received some extra run after Arian Foster exited the game for good in the second quarter and acquitted himself reasonably well in his limited opportunities. Drake also notably received a key red-zone opportunity midway through the fourth quarter and parlayed it into a nifty seven-yard touchdown run, bringing the Dolphins to within 31-24 with 6:06 remaining. The 22-year-old flashed some play-making ability on the ground in college, averaging 6.4 yards per tote and totaling 1495 yards on 233 carries through 41 games for the Crimson Tide, while adding another 570 yards on 46 receptions. With the very real possibility that Foster's hamstring injury could linger into Week 3, Drake stands to potentially see an expanded role in coming weeks.

  • Doug Martin RB | LV

Buccaneers' Doug Martin: Ruled out Sunday

Martin (hamstring) has been ruled out of Sunday's contest at Arizona, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.

Martin was "dragging his leg a little" as he left the field early in the second quarter, according to Kevin O'Donnell of FOX 13 Tampa Bay. The severity of the concern has been substantiated with first doubtful and then no potential to return, but the 24-point halftime deficit could have swayed the Buccaneers' decision-making process. Any absence logged by Martin will have a subsequent trickle-down effect for his primary backup Charles Sims.
